For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Thanks Toot - if you could just clone yourself, that'd be great I'm so pissed off about it. It's a job I really like the sound of.

TooTicky · 30/06/2009 18:42

Seriously, fb me if there is any way....

Guadalupe · 30/06/2009 18:46

I got quoted in the mayall here

load of crap

Boco · 30/06/2009 18:51

LOL Guad,, your one, obviously taking the piss comment seems to be the main basis for all this media hype about swine flu parties!

FrannyandZooey · 30/06/2009 18:51

god that was shoddier than ever guad!

Boco · 30/06/2009 18:53

Wander around the boards making other random suggestions and see if you can create another meeja storm. Suggest that fruitus is a cure for swine flu, and parents are injecting them into their own heads.

Guadalupe · 30/06/2009 18:54

I know. I have been laughing about it all day, except I did read the comments afterwards about thick people and my finger was itching over the keyboard, but but but, it was a PISSTAKE.

TigerFeet · 30/06/2009 19:02

You are the new Morningpaper Guad

Perhaps you should suggest tying all pigs to rockets and firing them into Lebanon.

TigerFeet · 30/06/2009 19:03

Franny what happened to the microfibre nappies?

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2009 19:07

lol at Guad licking Mexicans. It's going to be all the rage now.

Am v. interested in that other thread how so many people have four or five televisions in their houses. Which they don't watch much. Does everyone - except Franny - have loads of televisions then? I feel all old and out of touch.

Boco · 30/06/2009 19:09

We have one and it doesn't work all the time. Sometimes the sound goes and you have to whack it and it comes back. Who has 5 TVs?

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2009 19:11

loads of people do. I'm wondering whether a TV has now become like another piece of furniture? do you think? I like TV, I have no agenda about Tv, mine all watch it. But we only have one set.

Guadalupe · 30/06/2009 19:11

Ew, I don't lick anything very much if I can help it. I even bite icecreams.

We have one tv, but in the new house we are going to have two.

Guadalupe · 30/06/2009 19:13

One for them to play their games on/watch dvds and one for me in the front room, a nice small one in the corner. This is still under discussion though.

TigerFeet · 30/06/2009 19:15

Oh god I've just counted up and we have four

One in lounge
One in our bedroom
One in spare room (old portable from my stoodent days)
One in shed (dh's old portable)

Eek!

DD is not allowed one in her room. She keeps asking how old she has to be before she can have one

Am clearly not a proper hippy (as if that weren't already obvious)

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2009 19:21

I'm not a hippy either! Ones in the shed don't count TF. I don't think it's bad btw, I just didn't know.

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2009 19:22

Right, well I'm going now to prise dd off our one set. Everyone who has four or five says on that thread that they don't actually watch all that much TV. I think we must watch more with our one set than everyone who has four. Who knew?

TigerFeet · 30/06/2009 19:25

So that leaves three. That's OK then

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2009 19:28

Your TV in the shed, has given me a theory. That parents of a certain age think that TV's are quite important because they used to be so expensive, so they can't quite bring themselves to throw them away. But now people by combi sets, it seems, and give them as presents. Hence the build-up of televisions?

Guadalupe · 30/06/2009 19:28

Ahhh, I am watching the students opposite leave their house and they are crying and kissing fervently and then racing back for more kisses. She is waving UEA headed notepaper, I wonder if it is her degree result. I wish I could see.

SuperBunny · 30/06/2009 19:46

I have no telly but that's because I sold it. I did have one before but never watched it so I don't miss it at all. American tv is shite.

pinkspottywellies · 30/06/2009 20:23

We've got a 50inch tv in the living room and a tiny one in the dining room but a rubbish ariel so we can't really watch it. I hate dd watching the huge one but figure it's better than watching a fuzzy picture And she doesn't watch much. Well less than most children I know.

Had quite good f&v day until dinner when we're just eating white bread. Can't be arsed to make anything or eat properly and tiger bread is just so yummy.

So pleased you're hungry TF

pointydog · 30/06/2009 20:25

You can't say a tv in the shed doesn't count. I think a tv in the shed should count as 5.

We acquired our second telly last summer, when we upgraded our portable for a larger model. Second telly is coming in very handy for the dds to watch a dvd with friends in PRIVATE.

pinkspottywellies · 30/06/2009 20:31

Rhubarb can stay She wants a little bit of bacon in all her veggie meals. I just actually sprayed the keyboard a lot when I read her suggestion of a little bit of bacon in the 2nd vegetarian recipe someone gave her.
