er, is mumsnet still a parenting website? there has been another thread going the last couple of days that i finally worked out (from the title) - oh my...

hamster · 30/03/2005 21:00

Girth definitely!!!

wordsmith · 30/03/2005 21:01

After childbirth - girth, definitely

bossykate · 30/03/2005 21:01

surely there are more appropriate internet venues for these discussions - you know, the ones you'd block your kids looking at.

wordsmith · 30/03/2005 21:07

Yes, I would definitely block my kids from looking at Mumsnet, load of hussies!!

hussies - hmmm. seems there are definitely women and men here looking for more than parenting tips/sharing parenting experiences. if the cap fits...

wordsmith · 30/03/2005 21:09

bossykate · 30/03/2005 21:10

BK, don't think we're exactly singing from the same hymnsheet here. Sex does have something to do with parenting, you know!!

juicychops · 30/03/2005 21:14

im only 20! i talk about stuff like this with my mates all the time. I have morals, i just dont get embarraced about stuff like that

p.s. the dohnuts were well yummy wasn't they!

OP posts:
bossykate · 30/03/2005 21:16

sorry you missed the irony, wordsmith. yes, sex does have to do with parenting. so i wouldn't react to a thread entitled e.g. "trying to conceive, when is the best time?" or "sex after childbirth, how soon?" or "sex after childbirth, how often?" or even "sex has been much better/worse since we had kids, is this normal?"

but "which is better length or girth - discuss" or the other one which i won't repeat - well, plenty porn sites out there...

lou33 · 30/03/2005 21:16

i prefer the girth of ring doughnuts myself, those long straight ones just dont do it.

expatinscotland · 30/03/2005 21:16

Girth

wordsmith · 30/03/2005 21:18

Well you said it, BK, don't react!

dropinthe · 30/03/2005 21:18

I know you have morals honey!!!I was being flippant-I think its nice to have a good dollop of both really and us mums need light hearted convos like this to lighten our lives a little from poo and nappies and puke and the boredom that being mummies brings!!

dropinthe · 30/03/2005 21:19

I know Bk,dont read!!!

bossykate · 30/03/2005 21:20

i'll read and react to what i want to, thanks.

dropinthe · 30/03/2005 21:22

What about-"Sex after childbirth-a possibility?"

wobblyknicks · 30/03/2005 21:22

If I thought that parenting only involved discussions relating directly to kids/childbirth/pregnancy issues I would go and drink myself into a stupor right now. Even parents are human beings and we get fed up of having to talk about our kids ALL the time, there are other things on our minds from time to time!!!

As a parenting forum, Mumsnet naturally reflects this. We talk about things that are on parents minds, not necessarily things directly related to parenting. Ok, there's no need to have really horribly sexual discussions but I don't think this falls into that category, its just the sort of thing you talk to friends about.

(btw - if you went on a porn forum you'd be lucky if this was the sort of discussion you got!!!)

lilsmum · 30/03/2005 21:23

girth..for sure lol

juicychops · 30/03/2005 21:23

yep, just what dropinthe said. us girlsa need a giggle to make us feel human again... well i do. sometimes feel like a robot on auto pilot
