For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lully, so good to see you. I was worried. Glad you're back, sad that all is not ok but I hope you can work things out.

Boco Very difficult situation. Hope the holiday goes ok and that ILs get some idea of what it's like. Would they be able to talk to him about it? How are things between him and his parents?

Hello everyone else

I've eaten raisins, nuts and seeds for extra points, mango, pineapple, melon, mushrooms, beans, tomato, and done 10 mins on my new stepper.

FrannyandZooey · 25/05/2008 18:29

sweetcorn and salad
grapes
I reckon 7 so far

only a few more boxes to do and spare room is empty! dp says we can go to buy crap things for baby tomorrow, yay!
also sorted out all ds's clothes ready to go into his wardrobe, so space in my room for baby clothes
now just to sort out rest of house
and get baby stuff from loft

sorry, I should be wittering about all this crap on an antenatal thread, shouldn't I? I just don't KNOW anyone on there

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 25/05/2008 19:49

No Franny! You have to tell us! I don't want to have to read an ante-natal thread to find out what you're up to!

FrannyandZooey · 25/05/2008 19:51

well it isn't exactly hot news is it?

"bought a baby gro
got old pram out
scratched arse"

It's nice to know how it's all going though. When you had all your early pregnancy angsty threads I had to keep up with loads! Actually I miss all your pregnancy threads!

FrannyandZooey · 25/05/2008 20:30

LOL I may have another spurt shortly
now I have got some practical stuff done the daft angsty thoughts are creeping back in - I think knowing I hadn't got anything ready meant I could just focus on that to worry about - now there is room for all kinds of stuff to fret about

Oh toot

Boco - Pod Aniolami (sp) - it means Under The Angels and was a good restuarant just off the main square in Krakow. There is also a good peasanty place at the foot of the castle. Have a wonderful time in Poland. Sorry about the money.

Lully, am so glad you are back. Sorry you are having a big slump It sounds as though you have a clear idea of what you need/ want. I know it's not easy to get them though.

No F&V but went for long walk with Man this morning. Off to birthday party now. So more carbs.

TooTicky · 25/05/2008 21:48

Guess what happened on the way to the hospital? The car broke down! Yes really!!!!!!
Miraculously, after a kind cyclist had let me use his phone, the lovely lovely couple from the post office just happened to pass. PO man stayed with car and waited for dp who had cadged a lift from a lovely neighbour and Mrs PO took us to hospital, waited, and drove us home.
There are some utterly wonderful people in the world.

We have to be back at hosp for 8am tomorrow - with no car. Have called upon village organisation which helps with such things, normally pensioners though I think, and somebody is bery kindly driving us there in the morning. I feel rather awkward about this and as though I'm inconveniencing people, but we HAVE to go. They have mustered on call consultants and anaesthetists and everything.
Twill be an examination under anaesthetic.

Dd1 has been angelically helpful, looking after dd2 for most of the day, and has now collapsed with bug. |Ds1 perking up.
Ds2 surprisingly sprightly - may not be tomorrow though. He cannot eat after midnight or drink after 6am.
Dd2 has coped admirably, is full of beans and has lead dd1 a merry dance.
My mother is here.

Sorry, that was a bit of an essay!!

Oh TooT chin up.

FrayedKnot · 25/05/2008 22:05

TooT! What an ordeal, you poor things.

Please don;t feel anything resembling awkwardness about accepting the lift. As you say, you have to go. There will be a time when you can return the favour somehow or some way, I'm sure.

Glad to hear you also have anotehr pair of hands available now, as well.

All the best for tomorrow, will be thinking of you {{{{}}}}

Boco · 25/05/2008 22:07

Blimey Toot, what a day. Seems like a challenging day all round for veggers.

Have a good week, am packed and ready, kind of.

Tatties · 25/05/2008 22:16

TooT I hope you get a decent sleep tonight

Boco I hope things go ok for you this week too

Lully good to see you, wishing you lots of strength for whatever you need to do

Lots of (((goodnight hugs))) to you all

Good luck Boco
hope lots of it is fun
enjoy the pierogi

TooT good luck for tomorrow and I am GLAD you are using the hospital bus thing
it is a good use of it
please see my message re: summer shoes when things calm down
I am reminding myself to ask you again

OP posts:
TooTicky · 25/05/2008 22:50

This isn't the hospital bus - that requires 2 days notice. This is a lift in somebody's car. It is very very kind of him but I do feel like a shitty charity case. I have been used to independence of late.
Ah well.

TooTicky · 25/05/2008 22:52

Don't know how we're getting back yet [weak smile]

UnderRated · 26/05/2008 00:16

Toot, please don't feel like a burden or that you are inconveniencing anyone - if they weren't willing to do it, they wouldn't. And it's not for you, it's for poor DS2. I'm sorry you have had such a shitty day

Grapes, pineapple

TooTicky · 26/05/2008 06:30

There is something quite surreal about fruit appearing randomly atv the end of messages, like King somebody - George something? - the one who was reputed to say penguin or something at the end of sentences

Thanks for all the kind thoughts

About 15 miles.

FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 07:42

oh well I am GLAD you are getting the lift anyway
people should do stuff for each other and you are In Need
being independent is all very well day to day, but you are having several crises all rolled together here
I hope you get some encouraging news

lychee, radish

(not really but I agree it is amusing a la George III)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 26/05/2008 07:54

ok
I have not been out of the house for 2 days
I have been clearing out stuff and all that business and it has been HARD WORK
and today we were going to baby shop and out for lunch and I was going to actually be allowed to BUY THINGS for the baby
and I got up early because I was so excited

but now dp is feeling poorly
and has gone for a lie down
and there is going to be heavy rain here all morning so we can't go out except in the car
and I know this is rather a petty trouble but I may still have to sit here and sulk and there might be some wailing later

OP posts:
berolina · 26/05/2008 08:29

Franny I am sorry. Wail away. Disappointment is always horrid.

Thinking of you and LittleToot, TooT. No shame at all in accepting help where it is very much needed. When things are better you can pay it forward iyswim in another way.
