For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Fullmoonfiend · 22/05/2008 19:28

talking of eyes, I seem to be developing my yearly eye infection thingy Fecking great, just before half term. If I am not around v much on here for a while, twill be because too much computer action makes it hurt worse...

FrayedKnot · 22/05/2008 20:25

I'm doing my warding off migraines dance.

Avi you poor thing

I get a headache every month without fail but a proper migraine about once every six months. The last one DH had to come home from work and look after DS. It's so debilitating.

Much sympathy to fellow sufferers

FrayedKnot · 22/05/2008 20:28

Doing a warding of eye infection dance too, for good measure.

My birthday is 8th December. Aaaaaaaaaages away [sulk] And I never get to have a party because everyone is too busy.

Next year will be having a big party though, as it's a big birthday

can everyone keep December 2009 free, please?

FrayedKnot · 22/05/2008 20:29

How was your party, btw FMF?

Did everyone love each other?

I am so behind / confused with everyone's happenings.

pinkspottywellies · 22/05/2008 20:46

Pink 27th May

I ran quite fast but not very far. Still about 10 mins though so I get my sticker I ate plums, cuc, lettuce, sweetcorn, tomatoes, lasagne (onion, peppers, tomato, mushrooms) satsuma. Phew one to go to get my (admittedly lame but it's working so I'm sticking to it for now) 10 varieties!

Sorry to hear everyone's feeling so rotten

ahundredtimes · 22/05/2008 22:49

Oooh well done Pink.

Am crashing in at this late hour, to tell you I cried again. My god, I can't stop. DS2 (again) sang a solo at a recital thing this evening, and he was marvellous and people cheered at the end! And then I had to look modest afterwards when everyone came up to say how wonderful he was, and I had to try v. hard to remember to say how well their Jack had played the piano. I must stop crying, it's becoming ridiculous.

Also lolol at resident HE'ers thinking they just really shouldn't and couldn't comment on secondary schools. It's not so much that he's going to school, it's more that apparently in four years time he will be 14 and a teenager and going to this big school, and that is quite an odd and scary thought. And I think 10 is just fine and he could stop just there.

I have eaten all sorts of v. 10/10 things including carrot falafel and bulgar wheat oh and all kinds of things. Also volleyball player is divine.

That's my report. Hope things work out Bero.

IdrisTheDragon · 22/05/2008 22:58

My birthday is 8th September

TooTicky · 22/05/2008 23:11

Dd2 is asleep. I should be in bed but I am baking and making toast and my hair is in a towel.

berolina · 22/05/2008 23:25

I volunteer to compile the 10/10 birthday list and post reminders the week before Mine is done and dusted for this year. It was Mother's Day.

I am drooping, but don't dare put ds2 down yet. ds1 is semi-awake, coughing. Found solace in the botanic garden this afternoon - ds1 was wonderful, 'gardening' with heaps of dry pine needles and two sticks, ds2 looked around and laughed.

We have had a little moment with a smile and a kiss, but we can't seem to hug. We are both bewildered. I have 'China' by Tori Amos going round and round in my head, not one of my favourite songs of hers tbh.

100x cry and be proud. It is not ridiculous. It was not nice of you to mention carrot falafel. It has made me hungry. I have just eaten the last piece of christening cake, orange sponge (I made it and was very proud of it. A lot of people don't have me down as very domestic).

and sympathy to FMF and avi.

berolina · 22/05/2008 23:27

I must add 'orange' as in orange flavoured, not orange coloured

IdrisTheDragon · 22/05/2008 23:30

bero, hope you can get to sleep soon.

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2008 08:33

I agree 100, 10 is marvellous and they should all stop there

FMF is it like conjunctivitis? My glowy lady recommended something for that, I will ask her what it was, if you have the same thing. If not, have you a friend who will give you a squirt of breastmilk?

Morning chaps. Orange, banana, strawberries, raisins, pear.

Last day at work! Dp giving me a lift as can't walk far enough hopefully will improve at weekend with lots and lots of sitting around

berolina · 23/05/2008 08:36

Morning.

Franny I am going to nice baby shop today. Do you need anything I could have a look for?

Fullmoonfiend · 23/05/2008 08:56

No Franny, it appaears to be some form of keratitis which reoccurs when I am run down and stressed. There is no 'cure' and I just have to bin the contact lenses and be a speccy girl for a month and then it seems to go away. (3rd time I have had this)

Oh Pink, a fellow gemini!! Are you doing anything nice for yours?

FK my party is next thursday. I had a lovely night last night planning children's entertainment at a forthcoming festival

And FK - all my most especial people seem to have birthdys in December - Sagittarians are lovely

OsmosisBanana · 23/05/2008 09:07

Mine is March 7th. A big un next year.... Trying to decide whther I want a big party / hire cottage / just slope off somewhere for a weekend. I have told DH I want nothing to do with it and it up to him.

This won't last. I like to interfere organise.

Hope you all have good days

Bero, I had just started typing a message to you last night when dd2 got up - she had wet the bed - and had terribly sore bum again.
Later, ds2 started horrible sicky bug in a copious sort of way, in bed. He is a very miserable little boy this morning

Fmf, I have breast milk, would happily squirt some in your eye, but not sure I'd make the distance Hope it gets better soon!!

TooTicky · 23/05/2008 11:39

Avi, you swore
Hope you feel better soon though!!

alarkaspree · 23/05/2008 13:30

Hello all.

I'm munching my way through a concoction of courgette, carrot, mushrooms and butter beans. My jaw is quite hurting. Also had banana and grapes today. 5 portions so far I reckon.

Also have been to the gym four times in the last 3 days.

Sympathies to berolina, I hope things improve for you soon. And to all of you with health problems too.

Also wanted to sympathise with pinkspottywellies' dd for the currant bun thing but realise I have not kept up and you are probably over it by now. But my dd used to screw up her courage to go up and join in with music group and it was heartbreaking when they had run out of ducks or elephants or whatever.

OsmosisBanana · 23/05/2008 13:38

Tell me I'm not odd.

You don't pronounce felafel

"Fell-ah-fell"

Do you?

alarkaspree · 23/05/2008 13:57

No, you don't.

OsmosisBanana · 23/05/2008 14:05

I thought not. Ponces everywhere today.

Anyone doing anything nice this weekend? I was supposed to be going camping but am not. I was annoyed at first but am quite relieved now. Have been away or busy every weekend for 7 weeks now and I need to spend some time getting reacquainted with a mop and bucket.

I am redecorating both girls bedrooms too and really need to finish it - can't cope with sleeping in the living room much longer while SD gets to sprawl in my bed!

OsmosisBanana · 23/05/2008 15:48

come and play on my tail thread
