For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

As soon as DD's starts looking dodge I put some canasten cream on it. Always works.

OsmosisBanana · 22/05/2008 13:55

Anyway, back to business

OJ
beetroot/celery/carrot smoothie (not as bad as it sounds)
black beans
avocado
tomato

7 so far.

grapes/raspberries/strawberries for now, then having asparagus and green beans for tea (with halibut and new potatoes), and probably a grapefruit afterwards. Not quite 10, but certainly more virtuous than last night's egg and chip fiesta.

FrayedKnot · 22/05/2008 15:55

Hello

UR, I'm sorry I think I may have completely misunderstood why you needed to go to the Dr. I thought it was to you know, sort things out incase you did any more, er, snogging.

Instead I seem to have advised you to visit a Family Planning Clinic to sort out a problem with your eyelids

God it's been a long week. I had 5 sales reps to look after today and despite the fact that they fed me Krispy Kreme donuts, I am so glad to have escaped. Actually maybe it's a good thing I didn;t stay for anotehr donut.

Tatties · 22/05/2008 16:18

MrsC I am glad you got it ok! How lovely to have such a long lie in, it is good you are still resting. Franny did you get your nap? Well I am neither recovering from a major op nor am I pregnant, but I had a bit of a nap today Ds sat on the sofa with me while I dosed. I think it must have been a migrainey-thing yesterday because I feel really wiped out today.

TooT I was maybe going to suggest thrush? The only time ds has really had a sore bum was in the early days of bf when we had it. I have no idea whether it could affect your dd in this way now but maybe worth investigating?

FMF is it your birthday soon?

Fullmoonfiend · 22/05/2008 16:29

in exactly a week and 9 hours! (erm, or something like that, obviously not that I'm counting or bovvered or nuffink...)

Tatties · 22/05/2008 16:31

Oh dear Avi - I had first migraine last week and it was quite terrifying - especially the vision thing, I didn't know what was happening and it took several days to recover. REally hoping it never happens again. It was over a week ago and I still have a headache today - behind one eye, think it might be related. Hope you're ok and feeling better.

Bero hope things settle down for you and your dh, maybe it'll be like a big storm and the air will be clearer.

Have that skin biopsy tomorrow. I know it's no big deal really but it's making me a little queasy.

Tatties · 22/05/2008 17:01

Yes migraines are awful, as if the attack itself wasn't bad enough, you often feel spaced out for days afterwards.

What did the doc say Avi?

Oh poor you Avi, hope you feel much better very quickly.

Boco, I hope tomorrow goes well. Perhaps it will be one of those things you worry about but is actually over in 3 minutes and you feel slightly conned.

Fmf, why did I think it was Saturday.

Tatties, I am very conscious of the fact that I haven't sent you anything for your birthday yet. Please don't take it personally, I am frequently months/a year late with these things.

Hadn't thought about thrush. Wouldn't that be all the time though? This really is just night times.

Tatties · 22/05/2008 17:19

Gosh TooT don't worry about that! Really You will be pleased to hear that I am going to email everyone soon about my foot When ds had thrush it was like little patches of raw, broken skin. Does her bum look sore?

MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 17:20

tatties - when is your birthday?

Tatties · 22/05/2008 17:30

My birthday is January (champagne truffles, remember? )

FrannyandZooey · 22/05/2008 17:45

sore bottom at night - not worms which is making her itch already broken skin is it?

Avi very sorry you have been so poorly
getting the doctor out
not like you
I bet dp thought you were expiring
hope you are being well looked after

Tatties sorry you have felt off colour too
it does seem to be a funny week for migraines - I wonder if there is a connection

I had my nap
just about to have dp kind of fried dinner but it does have home made coleslaw, and some orange juice - 7.5 so far (did a typo which said 'so fat' )

would anyone else find it useful/nice to have a list of 10/10 birthdays...? I need lots of notice for people's birthdsays as I am good at remembering, buying cards etc but crap at getting to a post office...

FrannyandZooey · 22/05/2008 17:50

yes and a timer that went off saying 'go to card shop today'
what kind of sound would the alarm make? a kind of crunching noise?

Fullmoonfiend · 22/05/2008 18:09

ok, FMF 29th May

(and no, that's not a hint...
cut and paste and add yours

Boco · 22/05/2008 18:11

No maybe the sound of a party blower things?

That's the good thing about f&*cebook - it tells you upcoming bdays of all your friends. I rely on it now.

DDs birthday soon, she'll be SIX, that's proper grown up and big, not small, an actual child. She is having surprise guinea pigs. She wants a guinea pig called Morris Someone we know is fixing up an old hutch for us, and dp is going to attempt to make a run, which i'm trying not to sound too dubious about.

MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 18:16

oh, yes, Tatties, thought I'd missed it for a minute
