For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Bero

pinkspottywellies · 21/05/2008 22:31

Aw thanks everyone! She was a bit bemused really and just came back and sat on my knee. 'What did Mummy send me up there for? There wasn't one for me. Crazy mummy!' It was just more that it was a glimpse into the future and if she gets upset it must be heartbreaking My poor baby

UnderRated · 22/05/2008 01:23

Goodness, Bero. Hope things settle down soon

I can't believe you all have edible things in the garden already. Our seeds are only just sprouting. We do have a much later spring though but still

I left my dr a message and they said I can have an urgent appointment next week. I only want my eyelids to get better so it's not hugely urgent but I don't want to wait 8 weeks looking like this.

Am glad FK's DS was ok when he fell - some children just seem to bounce.

I'm going on a road trip tomorrow. Eeek.

UnderRated · 22/05/2008 01:25

PSW, I have horrible memories of that kind of thing from when I was small and I am sure it is at least in part to blame for my shyness I don't know why people are so mean to small children.

FrannyandZooey · 22/05/2008 08:40

Pink the thing I hate is when i can see the adult is purposefully ignoring ds because they think he is a bit bumptious
rotten bastards

anyway morning all
banana, apple, pear, melon, grapes, raisins
probably 4.5?

am doing morning nature club thing then dp is taking over hoorah hoorah

admittedly I am a bit hormonal due to stopping taking the pill (is that likely?) but I have tears in my eyes reading about the lack of currant bun. Maybe I have bun related issues in my past I am surpressing

Sorry to hear of your woes Bero... I agree with what F&Z says though about it possibly being a good thing. I had a terrible relationship ending patch with DH a few years ago (mostly my fault) and it was definitely make or break time. We're still going strong.

Well... I say going strong, I had to dramatically storm out of the house for an hour yesterday after a fairly impressive row, but he has his end of year exams so I'll let him off his current wankyness.

berolina · 22/05/2008 08:52

Thank you everyone for sympathy. We have re-committed to staying together but are so odd, almost polite, with each other and I feel really sad I really want comfort but can't ask for it from him somehow

tbh part of it is the classic 'separate lives' scenario when there are small children. And after what we (well, more specifically I) went through to be and stay together I never thought we could have - or indeed were 'allowed' iyswim - serious problems. 'I gave up my parents for him, it HAS to be all perfect, it IS perfect, forever'. That sort of thing.

I'm not a great wife tbh

Waves and wishes to all.

Franny, I am painstakingly typing with one hand. If/when I can put ds2 down I will come to the extended natural-term bf thread and help out.

berolina · 22/05/2008 08:53

OB you made me

I do dramatics, dh doesn't. He knows what I am like yet stubbornly insists on taking everything at face value.

OsmosisBanana · 22/05/2008 09:13

Men...

Jim yesterday said 'if I find out you've been f*cking around...' when he was angry that I was being grumpy and 'a closed book'.

I couldn't believe it! The man thinks I have enought time on my hands working nearly full time and looking after DD/SD/3 dogs etc etc to conduct an illicit affair?? Apart from this, he knows I'm a terrible (albeit frequent) liar and would crumble under the slightest questioning

I should point out he was very apologetic afterwards. He isn't a complete arse. Just a partial arse.

Ooohhhh. two faces in one post. I think it's going to be a day of it.

I am telling my boss about my plan to hand my notice in if they don't let me take the promotion.

OsmosisBanana · 22/05/2008 10:12

De La Soul are playing at the Academy on Monday.

I have almost convinced myself I want to go.

Do I like De La Soul is the question....

Tatties · 22/05/2008 11:00

Bero things are bound to be awkward at first, I hope things settle down for you soon. Try not to be so hard on yourself

Pink poor wee dd!

berolina · 22/05/2008 11:02

Have been cheering myself up on the Extended MNing thread

Oh Pink Those sorts of situations are gut-wrenching, aren't they?

berolina · 22/05/2008 11:03

dh is here btw. working in the other room while I hide in here.

He said things yesterday that have really shaken me up

IdrisTheDragon · 22/05/2008 11:05

Bero I am for you. Really hope things end up all right for you.

OsmosisBanana · 22/05/2008 11:54

Right, someone has a thread talking about a belly cast.... Have any of you done one? Am I alone in thinking that is a very strange thing to do? What's the point? I think I would be a bit grossed out if my Mum suddenly produced a cast of me as a womb squatter.

Am I being mean?

TooTicky · 22/05/2008 12:13

I think it would be a cumbersome item to store OB. And yes, slightly odd.

I started the day with orange, peach and apricot. Have just eaten 2 pitta breads with sun dried tomatoes, sunblush tomatoes and fried mushrooms. Am eyeing up strawberries.

I have to eat well, dd2 and I are having a sleep-deprived week. She has been getting the most awful, desperate sore bottom - but only at night.

OsmosisBanana · 22/05/2008 13:09

Poor little thing. DD used to get a horrendous bum, it would turn to bleeding sores in the course of an afternoon and she wouldn't be picked up or held. Heart beaking.

TooTicky · 22/05/2008 13:21

Thing is, I have no idea what is causing this. She has been out of nappies for over a year now. I was wondering if she was just getting sweaty, but someone suggested teeth this morning.

Isn't it awful when you can't do anything? We have this miracle cream which usually solves everything - Tui Bee Balme - but it's struggling atm. Have even tried blobs of breast milk, which dd2 says helps a bit.

MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 13:22

has she got a couple of teeth coming, they still have some to come at her age don't they?

MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 13:24

Tatties has sent me a lovely parcel of tea and chocolate and soap.

Thank you so much, it was lovely to open and those things are some of my favourites. Beautiful card, I want to look like that and have that dress!

I woke at midday I thought it was quiet and that dh must have taked ds2 with him to school but he went out and then it was lunchtime. I don't think I have done that since
I had children.

TooTicky · 22/05/2008 13:28

That sound good MrsC, you must have needed it.

Yes, dd2 still has teeth to come. I don't remember any of the others having this much tooth-related bum trauma though.

FrannyandZooey · 22/05/2008 13:29

have walked round town v-e-r-y v-e-r-y slowly and cautiously
Ds says "Mummy last week you were a tortoise and now you are a SNAIL"
he is out with dp now
I have had a ridiculous huge self indulgent lunch
it did involve half a pound of blueberries but otherwise a bit scanty on f+v
I might go for a nap

Smoked Mackerel salad with my now-customary huge quantities of salad plus seeds. Mango, raspberries. Easily 7 already. Twill be the work of a moment to fit 3 in for tea. Sorry if you are all blinded by my virtuous glowing.

FrannyandZooey · 22/05/2008 13:38

ah I have had 6.5 already and I had a load of crap for lunch
so budge up in virtuous corner and let my lardy bot come in

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 13:39

lol at lardy bot

dh and I are going out for late lunch, haven't got to get dcs from school today. Might find somewhere by a river
