Fiona he SHOULD be smoking outside. I find that if there is always a coat/gloves by the door it makes it much less painful to go outside. Aren't men selfish sometimes? Its so hard watching people smoke isn't it? I think you are being incredibly strong right now.

DH's family is due in a few hours. I worked today and shock horror came home to a cleaner house. DH had today off and HE CLEANED. Oh my gosh I was so happy, he said he felt sorry for me so he helped out and he had DD all day. Hopefully this will continue.

I always quite liked working at Christmas, it can be very sad, but there is always a cheery friendly atmosphere. Where I work now I don't think it will be the same with the patients, but the staff are lovely to work with. I don't think DD will notice as she will be spoiled rotten in my absense by her grandparents. Very sad I will miss her in the morning though I just tell myself that if I was in hospital I would want nice happy staff all year round so I will try to do that!

A friend without children told me recently that she could not understand how ANY mother could EVER let her child watch TV even for a moment. HAH.

Festivepussy · 23/12/2004 20:02

Ha and that same person will be one of those mums that had cbeebies on 24/7 in 2 rooms

OP posts:
JennisaurusUnderTheMistletoe · 23/12/2004 20:06

CBEEBIES is my lifesaver. I am trying to wean DD onto Trisha though

Festivepussy · 23/12/2004 20:10

Not knocking cbeebies but I know some kids who are teletubbies coz they live cbeebies!!

JennisaurusUnderTheMistletoe · 23/12/2004 20:16

Oh yes you can definately take it too far. I try not to let DD watch too much TV, but sometimes it gives me 10 minutes peace or calms her down. She loves the Fimbles!

Still no fags BTW hoping this can last!

Festivepussy · 23/12/2004 20:18

I didnt doubt you Does your other half smoke, I noticed your wrote on a money thread We can always afford fags and I thought ...OHHHH er shes forgot she doesnt smoke

OP posts:
Festivepussy · 23/12/2004 20:19

I have almost bowed to the TV in times of great need. Sometimes there is a need for your kids to be 100% absorbed in something other than driving you mad!!!

JennisaurusUnderTheMistletoe · 23/12/2004 20:27

Dh smokes 30 a day pain in the arse. I have said that before on these threads I though.

Festivepussy · 23/12/2004 20:29

Inside or outside? Any intention of stopping? Sorry cant remember everything...

OP posts:
JennisaurusUnderTheMistletoe · 23/12/2004 20:32

I read that and realised it sounded b!tchy sorry FP!!!

He smokes outside (neither of us have smoked inside since DDwas born) and he has no intention of quitting. Smokes a lot at work though, I would love to get him down to 15 a day.

How are you and DH?

fionagib · 23/12/2004 21:28

my dh prob smokes about that too jenni - he has given up (with me) before, gets worse withdrawals than I do tho, omce thought he was going blind!

Yeah Tv is a lifesaver I reckon - used to think I'd spend all my time doing arts and crafts with my kids but pffff! to that. They watch anyhting from half an hour to an hour and a half a day - couple of hours v occasionally if there's a grownup-ish film on that they'd like.

dh is out tonight, so temptation has been removed!! Am wrapping prezzies like a maniac, not even had any booze yet...

how are you all spending xmas eve?

Festivepussy · 23/12/2004 22:44

Glad your doign well FG...dont worry about it Jenni I just thought OMG I cant remember everything LOL!!!!!
Me and dp are ok. He nearly annoyed me by apologising for staying in bed half of tommorow b4 its even here, as he was going to sit on here all night again after being at work since 2am till 8pm but I said go to bed now...and then you wont have to be in bed tommorow you know???? And thankfully he did.
Just sitting watching crap tv with a srink for us...or he will be on pc and i will be tidying up something like that!!

OP posts:
Festivepussy · 24/12/2004 11:46

Gonna come back later and have dinner...then we are gonna watch Shrek...getting excited!!!

OP posts:
Festivepussy · 24/12/2004 17:54

OP posts:
Festivepussy · 24/12/2004 18:01

Deep Breath. DD2 hasd been interogated and she says it was her that moved the pillows. So hopefully DD1 didnt see it. F F F* but if she did she will know tomorow that it was us and not Santa...dilemma...

Festivepussy · 25/12/2004 00:27

Well sorted it out as much as poss...DD1 age 7 is the most excited shes ever been about Xmas, shes usually very passive but shes grinned with glee so this really would be shit if she realised.
DD2 age 4 didnt realise the significance of our questioning...and if she did notice the Gameboy, I hope she keeps her lips sealed...
I am planning to make it the last pressie, so if it clicks we can jump in and say We got that...and if the penny drops at least the last 20 pressies have had the magic...you know????
Only talc and glitter to go, have been setting up playmobil zoo for 3 hours...oh yeah...3 hours
I have had at least 3 imaginary smokes lol
Merry Christmas Everyone Hope you have a great time xxxxxx

OP posts:
Festivepussy · 25/12/2004 17:32

Had a goooooddddd Xmas...hows about you guys?...going to murder some alcohol soon though. Mum and dp kept disapeering outside for smokes. I cannot belive I uses to smell that bad and noone said anything. I also cannot believe I didnt used to smell them.
Its not jsut the smell its the knowledge that I know they couldnt wait for dinner to finish so they could feed thier monster. It really isnt to be envied, not for a moment. And I hope once and for all ive got that in my thick head!!!!!!!
One month of 28 days today for me
Will be back to chat about Xmas later, but thats my thoughts for nowxx
