Sat here on my laptop watching over my tiny DD who has been admitted to the Paediatric High Care unit this morning with Bronchiolits.

Feeling very sorry for myself and even sorrier for her.

Oh no! I hope she's feeling better soon and can get home. It must be horrible for you to watch her but at least she's in the right place to get better. Small consolation I know.

Enid · 31/05/2007 13:51

oh no! you poor poor thing and poor poor dd

loads and loads of sympathy x

HuwEdwards · 31/05/2007 13:52

OMG, how horribly horrible for you and your DD.

just 4 weeks? How long will she be in for? Are you able to stay with her?

Poor you

dejags · 31/05/2007 13:54

Thanks - we are waiting for the sputum results to come back. Just hoping she doesn't have RSV (virus which can be quite difficult for the really tiny babies to get better from quickly).

Had a major apnoea scare this morning and have had suspicions that she has been having apnoea attacks since yesterday. God the one this morning was frightening - she just wasn't breathing and I didnt know what to do.

I feel better in hospital at least if it happens again they can help her.

Fingers crossed she will be on the mend quickly.

Pinkchampagne · 31/05/2007 13:58

Oh no, how very scary for you, you poor thing.
Hope your little girl makes a very speedy recovery.x

Saturn74 · 31/05/2007 13:58

You poor things.
At least you are in the right place for her to get the best treatment, and hope you're both home, safe and well, very soon.

Mumpbump · 31/05/2007 13:59

InTheseShoes · 31/05/2007 14:10

nailpolish · 31/05/2007 14:12

dejags, how awful for you
get well soon little one x

MissGolightly · 31/05/2007 14:13

poor poor you and her. Hope she gets better quickly and can come home soon, but it sounds like she is in the safest place for now.

moodlumthehoodlum · 31/05/2007 14:18

Poor you, poor baby. we had exactly the same with dd when she was 2 weeks and it was terrifying, but I promise we did get through it, although it was hard. She had several apnea attacks and they never found out why although they thought perhaps a virus. You are in the best place, and I know that they are always so thorough with little ones, so at least she can get the best treatment now.

Nightynight · 31/05/2007 14:39

oh no how awful. hope she is OK soon.

(are you on wireless internet btw? if not WLAN, it is done with a mobile phone...just warning you in case you are in a banned phone area)

Twinmummyx2 · 31/05/2007 14:40

Big hugs for a speedy recovery, thinking of you.

xx

whomovedmychocolate · 31/05/2007 14:41

You poor thing - in a week or so she'll be MUCH better so just go hour to hour. You have my sympathy, I know how pathetically upset I am when my DD even bumps her knee so I can only imagine how upset you are.

Hang in there

SauerKraut · 31/05/2007 14:48

Dd3 had that virus at 9 weeks, and it was awful at the time. As you say, it did take her a while to recover, but she's a bright and healthy 5-year old now. Good luck- thinking of you.

SpacePuppy · 31/05/2007 14:54

Oh bummer, thinking of you.

PrettyCandles · 31/05/2007 15:04

Oh poor baby (and poor mummy, too).

Haribosmum · 31/05/2007 15:11

Oh my sincere sympathy goes to you and your precious newborn little girl. I'm sure she is a fighter and will come through this. No experience myself (thankfully) but I know how worried us Mums get at just a sniffle at that age.

((((((hugs)))))

Gizmo · 31/05/2007 15:19

....and here's your sympathy.

Right....

HERE.

I do feel for you, the same thing happened to DS1 when he was a week old (readmitted for different reasons but in for a week). Practically, though, she's absolutely in the best place and I'm sure you will hardly remember it in time, ghastly though it must be now.

I wish you nice nurses, a speedy recovery for your DD and plenty of sleep in the meantime (if you can 'turn off' enough).

Are you BF'ing her?

suedonim · 31/05/2007 15:25

How frightening, I hope you see an improvement v soon.

Chugnuts · 31/05/2007 15:28

Oh no Dd was in hospital with bronchiolitis a few months ago.

Lots of sympathy and good wishes for you both. xx
