Hello (hopefully) to Voodoo, Worley and Jennster!!

OP posts:
JennySpringster · 10/04/2007 22:25

Yes have been alone in the house when freecyclers have turned up, but nobody has actually come in, and I turned up today at a house alone, but dh knew where I was.

The replies come to my email address so I don't have to check the site. I just posted offers and replied to everybody via email. As soon as I said somebody could have something I posted a taken subject to collection post. TBH the site is NOT very user friendly. The posts are numbered, but the way they are listed is very confusing.

Never had a changing station, although in the early days I had a mat on top of a chest of drawers that was the right height. Mat has been on bathroom floor for almost as long as I can remember now. Never changed a nappy downstairs. Figured the exercise would do me good having to walk upstairs.

Just seen a clip of Dot in Eastenders hugging a little baby and went all gooey. Newborns are so helpless aren't they. God I'm broody. DD is lovely right now, but weird that she has advanced so much. She has started saying baa baa when we sing baa baa black sheep.

My heartbeat is very irregular right now. I'm thinking of buying a BP monitor. Felt really weird all evening. Would be interested to know if my BP was affected. Had my heartbeat checked out last pg and they said nothing to worry about, loads of people have these ectopic beats and never even notice. Probably something to do with having all the extra blood volume you notice more.

JennySpringster · 10/04/2007 22:27

Hmmm. Bit stupid not getting a proof of posting, but then just asked DH if he gets one and he said he doesn't know. That means no of course.

JennySpringster · 10/04/2007 22:31

B%%%%%%%%d slugs. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE

JennySpringster · 10/04/2007 22:34

Too many %s. B%%%%%%%d

worleywantschocolate · 10/04/2007 23:00

i think i just spent an hour reading that ebay thread... thanks voodz
i have to ask for proof of posting for ebay stuff.

it was amusing reading at the banter between bassmama and the mumsypoops if that was her name!! some mn's are sooo bitchy sometimes.

how come we were honoured with hunkermunker? did we scare her off?

im joining weightwatchers tomorrow eve the gym is improving my blood pressure and heart rate had dropped a lot. but the weights just stuck at 1*and a half st. im at pre ds2 weight but would soooo love to be at pre ds1 weight, at 9 1/2 half stone, but that was 9 years ago

Macdog · 11/04/2007 10:39

Was wondering 'bout Hunker myself.
This thread been on go now since Jan, and that's been our only visitor.
Maybe we should put out a bowl of nibbles in case someone else visits !

I'm really wary of ebay in case of that scenario, but then I'm a big wuss!!

My lovely thrush family do for most of my slugs/snails Jenn. They are fab. I used to have Boris the hedgehog too, but he got squished a few years ago .

Off now to take the dogger out

bonjourno mes madames,

well, it is not so much slugs that bug me as effing wasps...Im sure we have a nest somewhere in our roof because the rascally varmints are all over the show already...

thanks for that freecycle info Jenn, thought it was just me being dense!!

I had 4 firemen in the house yesterday giving me a once over (I wish...They were inspecting the house) we are quite fire safe apparrently, but they replaced our smoke alarm as it was in the wrong place, and fitted one in the lounge...all for free! Fab service I advise it if your area does something equivalent. We now have a 'plan' and lots of tips to keep the risk to a minimum.

The funny thing was at the start of the questionnaire they did with me there were lots of sex/age/race questions...toensure equality...
then they asked me if the garage was attached or detatched from the house...and to their amusement I gave the wrong answer...one then remarked 'typical woman'!!!!!! Seems the fire service are as bad as the police with the old male/female divide...
I had to laugh though, was a bit flustered as one of them was a total fittie...

VoodooSpringChicken · 11/04/2007 19:55

...and I am a div when it comes to certain things like that...

shameful really but I once called out the AA when I couldnt start my car. The steering wheel was stuck and the key wouldnt go in..

when they arrived they were delighted to explain a thing called the 'steering lock'

Macdog · 11/04/2007 20:01

ROFPMSL!!!
Thought it was just me that did that sort of thing

i wish we had that kind of service round here, in the xmas shopping eves, they have a carol singing session in the town centre, all in their uniform
thats all we get.

i just get all the prisoners and the guards, sometimes the police if people are drunk and been fighting and punch " a wall" when im on night duty.

i did xray a person under police guard who had been stabbed, and then 20 mins later i had to xray the policeman as he passed out as the dr was treating the wound. he fell and hit his head! he had been so cocky before hand, as he was quite young and obviously thought he was the dogs bs, then we had to see to him made my night

worleywantschocolate · 11/04/2007 20:51

ds2 got weighed today, hes now at 16lb 9 oz, he was 14lb 10oz 10 weeks ago, so hes now got to the 2nd centile. he's such a bloaternot.

so, i joined weight watchers tonight, her scales weighed me half a stone heavier than mine, gutted.

JennySpringster · 11/04/2007 21:15

Our garden is very much in it's infancy and so not too many birds yet, although there are a couple of blackbirds visiting the pyracantha berries at last, and saw some visiting bluetits. Too many cats about though. Can't wait for the trees to grow grow grow. We also have a brickwall around most of it too, so no hedgehogs either. I wish I'd thought about that before we'd got it built.

We had firehotties in about 6 months ago who fitted an alarm for us. They woke up dd!

No idea how many lbs dd is but She wasn't even 10kg a couple of weeks ago.

What sort of carrier is it Macdog? They've road tested a few for Junior pregnancy and baby magazine.

worleycanthavenomorechocolate · 11/04/2007 21:28

ooo i want a backpack carrier, i use my bushbaby forward facing carrier all the time, ds2 love sit, he cries if hes in his puschchair. sometimes i have to put him in his chair as i can't manage to carry everything when im on a shopping mission, but its ideal for walking to school and then i can hold ds1's hand to cross roads etc without worrying.

p.s new name for the new me

Macdog · 12/04/2007 09:29

It's the Vaude Jolly Comfort iv.
Cheapest on 't web at moment is £88.94 inc delivery.
Are now plotting a foray into a car boot sale to offload all dd's outgrown/unwanted clothes/toys etc to pay for it.

I used to be in WW, Worley. Lost 2.5 stone in the year before I got hitched, and now it's all wandered back .

dd weighed 10kg/22lb last month, and as the HV's have changed the time of the drop in clinic from afternoon to early morning, it may well be the last time she's weighed

Catch you all later

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 15:20

my dd and I dont do early mornings either we both wake up around 8.15am and that seems plenty early enough. A friend of mine wants me to come to an early morning baby-gym group thing on Fridays at 8.15am...I said no way! Im making the most of this sleep pattern, long may it continue!

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 15:21

I cant afford WW so am doing it alone. between start March and start April Ive lost a stone, so its going ok. May have to start jogging to shift the rest though...9kg to lose.

congrats auntie macdog,
i dont have any neices or nephews, so ds 1 and 2 dont have any real cousins, we just call my cousins kids their cousins as they are all about the same age and see each other regularly.

been to the playpark this pm with me friend and her boy, although they always end up falling out, hes 18months younger than ds1 and very annoying.

i could only afford to join ww as my mum got sent a voucher that got her and a friend free membership if she joined this month, so it was £4.95 i think. i need to go be weighed each week to stick to it.

off to iron ds1's cub uniform now, hes being enrolled tonight, so i have to get the camera ready

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 20:36

oh what lovely news Macdog!!!
what are they going to call her?
How exciting for the Macdog Clan. Break out the special whiskey!!!!!!!

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 20:38

The Macdog Family!

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 20:39

its obv. grandad with the big tongue....

JennySpringster · 12/04/2007 20:54

Evening folks. Congrats Auntie Macdog.

Just been excavating my verruca. Am sick of the blumming thing and it hurts loads with walking. Been in Manchester around my old uni with my dispenser today doing the ACT course. She failed unfortunately so we're going to have to go back in my last week of work.

Ok I said I wasn't going to discuss names BUT the only boys name we like was STOLEN yes HALF INCHED by dh's sister 5 years ago. Joseph was called George for 2 days before sil decided she preferred our name (which she had sworn she wouldn't use before we told her). She figured we weren't going to have children and if we were they were going to be girls....the cheek! Anyway they will have different surnames, but mil not keen. We have loads of girls names, but this time we are convinced it's a boy. No.2 is monster sized compared to dd. What do you think? We are thinking of just going with it.

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 21:20

for a girl I like...

Alyssa
Elyssa
Lara

For a boy I like

William
Callum
Jake

My sister is thinking of calling hers Elliot if a boy and Elliott if a girl!
I dont know what names my best friend likes yet, havent had chance for a big chat yet

VoodooSpringChicken · 12/04/2007 21:21

arent verruccas depressing.
If the banana does ever work I dont think I will ever swim again for fear of catching another little beastie.
