Hello (hopefully) to Voodoo, Worley and Jennster!!

OP posts:
Jennster · 20/02/2007 21:19

Bonne soiree mes amiees (no idea if that's correct spelling)

Will try and get round to doing a profile then.

Have a family history of breast cancer and am trying to get it on my records to get mammograms early from 38 rather than 50 or what ever age it's meant to be. My sister has been down the family history profile route and they recommended 5 years before earliest confirmed bc. Looks like I'm going to have to go through the whole process she did.

Looks like we're going cold turkey on the breast feeding too. She bit me on each boob having fed not at all. She then screamed 5 minutes and then fell asleep. Had already decided I wasn't going to feed her in the morning so think I might have to now or I'm going to explode..... What was I saying the other day about dd cutting down gently on feeding HMMMM

And I've sorted out my finishing date at work. something like the 17th june. 4 weeks holiday and 1 week mat leave before I'm due. That means erm (quickly calculates) I've 12 weeks left at work. You'll be getting a count down soon.

VoodooChickenhead · 21/02/2007 16:01

oh Jenn that is the bright side of pushing out a bub and getting uncomfortably fat! No work!

I went in today to discuss my new hours, I am doing 17 a week, as a supervisor, and I told them I already booked my hols, 1st 2 weeks of August. I feel better now some decisions are made!!

Well the scaffolding is down, and the roof is finished.
Except for 4 tiles.
They are special ones.
And they ran out.
Obviously.

MEN !!!

I'm a bit late with the house porn, but if I win the lottery I'd like this one please .
The park across the road in pic 5 is where we go to play on the swings.

worleythewisp · 21/02/2007 21:15

dp had the car today so once it had stopped raining, i put ds2 in his sling and we caught the bus in to town as i had to buy ds1's friend another birthday pressie (as the other one was in the car boot and dp wasnt going to be home in time for the bowling party...)
i brought a new plastic raincover for my old 3wheeler buggy as i seem to have lost the other one. however, i put it all on only yo discover i have 2 flat tyres, so i took it over the road to the village garage where he tried to put air in but the tyres are knacered and the valves dont work. bugger bugger bugger.
so im now going to have to work out how much new tryes are and if it will be cheaper just to buy a new buggy. i do have a big 3 in 1 mammas and pappas but its just so big and bulky and my little 3 wheeler just folds up nicely...and more streamlined.

and i have to buy ds1 his new cub uniform at the end of the month and thats about £50 gone. why are children so expensive??????

Jennster · 21/02/2007 21:16

Wow LOVE that house.

worleythewisp · 21/02/2007 21:17

worleythewisp · 24/02/2007 21:04

my friend emailed me this, i thought it was quite good/true

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a
neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by
Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long
as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to
figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would
be put to death.
The question?...What do women really want? Such a question would perplex
even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an
impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the
monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.
He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the
priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but
no one could give him a satisfactory answer.
Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have
the answer.
But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom
for the exorbitant prices she charged.
The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the
witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her
price first.
The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of
the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!
Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one
tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never
encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.
He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible
burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.
He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the
preservation of the Round Table.
Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question
thus:
What a woman really wants, she answered...is to be in charge of her own
life.
Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great
truth and that Arthur's life would be spared.
And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and
Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.
The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific
experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most
beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded
Lancelot asked what had happened
The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared
as a witch, she would henceforth be her horrible deformed self only half the
time and the beautiful maiden the other half.
Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day....or night?
Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show
off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old
witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by
night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?
What would YOU do?
What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down
below. OKAY?

worleythewisp · 24/02/2007 21:07

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.
Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time
because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.
Now....what is the moral to this story?
Scroll down

The moral is.....
If you don't let a woman have her own way....
Things are going to get ugly
