Oh dear. Take it Scotland lost! Sorry.

Just had a cry coz I want to go on holiday and there is no chance for ages! Went for lovely walk 3 friends 4 prams today in the fog today though. I need a break. Still have a rotten cold and cough. Think it's linked to the heating at work. Had it since just before Christmas.

DeputyMacDawg · 03/02/2007 21:58

Poor Jennster.
Take it you didn't win the lottery then

worleythewisp · 03/02/2007 22:15

are you sad deputymacdawg?
i gather its due to the rugby results? i dont kbow what they are,
we have just watched children of men.
its pretty depressing what may happen in 20 odd years time really.... what ever sort of future can we expect for our ds/dds.

Well the weather is a bit better today. Nice and cold but sunny and bright. Really need to get into the garden. Have a crab apple tree that needs planting.

We are going to look for a new mattress today. Maybe the both of us will get better sleep. My side is so lumpy, and when I turn it and rotate it, it's even worse. We've had it since we've lived together 1999 so guess it's time. Am going to have to be really careful when giving birth on it this time round. Don't want to ruin it.

Have already reconciled with myself that our holidays will be different for some time to come with 2 young children, but no holiday for nearly 2 years.....

VoodooWizbit · 04/02/2007 19:24

we are going for 1 week with friends to a house in France that belongs to my friend's uncle, he is charging us £100 for the week...= £50 per couple. we are lucky to have it, otherwise there's no way we could afford to go anywhere.

MIL and FIL just gone home, they stayed the W/E as they havent been able to come up while my mum and dad were staying here. Its nice now to have the house to ourselves again!

My mum rang from the new house in Scotland. They seem happy, all sorted, but I think they will miss family.

My littlest sister has fallen downstairs and pulled a ligament in her knee, bless her, a week off work in a full leg bandage!! He boss is not happy shes had so many sick days, she is so clumsy and has been really ill lately, she smokes too much I keep telling her to quit.

My other sister has flown on to Whistler with her new hubby for a fab week of skiing! Lucky cow.

and to finish the update...dd is yelling in her cot as she got far too excited before I put her to bed. Nevermind.

Sorry about the rugby MD, hope you feel a bit better soon J, eat lots of garlic to shift a dodgy cold; and keep up the nit hunt W
x

VoodooWizbit · 04/02/2007 19:26

ps, to clarify, smoking doesnt cause you to fall downstairs
she keeps getting laryngitis and neck/throat infections which I am sure are due to her fagging it at every opportunity

dd has now fallen quiet...fingers crossed,

and Ugly Betty was really good Fri night, I hope she ends up with that lovely (sexy) geek and dumps Walter the dumbass.

DeputyMacDawg · 04/02/2007 19:29

All better today.
We all went and had a lovely walk in the woods, then while dd slept in the car dh and I shared a bag of chips looking out to the sea .

VoodooWizbit · 04/02/2007 20:26

shitski

I keep bidding for clothes on eBay.
Today I suddenly felt so frumpy and fat and all of my clothes are too small and its time to accept I am going to be a fatty for a bit, and time to buy some nice trendy clothes

I still have a £34 voucher for Topshop left over from xmas, I will buy one trendy thing from there this week.

I love the Dari Maya dresses on eBay, I would wear over jeans...[dreaming emoticon]

VoodooWizbit · 04/02/2007 20:26

I am such a weird body shape now.

Jennster · 04/02/2007 22:19

Voodoo, I think the sexy geek is a plant from another magazine and is a mole........

Garlic .. god I love it ... we get through a bulb a week at least....

VoodooWizbit · 04/02/2007 22:25

VoodooWizbit · 05/02/2007 20:05

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VoodooWizbit · 05/02/2007 20:09

can you tell me recipe for eggy bread?
how many eggs do you use? add water?

what meat do you cook for your bubs?

are you doing BLW? fingerfoods or a mix?

Its time to turn this thread into a whiney-weaning won!

VoodooWizbit · 05/02/2007 20:11

what and exactly how do you cook said meat as I am a crappy cook and trying to move away from the expense of the baby food jars...

I am BLW a bit, a puree of veggies starts her off, then she picks up what she wants off the high chair, depending on the time of day I put selections raw fruit/cooked veggies/ bread and cheese spread/etc then a pud like yoghurt.

so I am confused what meat to do, MIL mutters about boiling some bacon but I am clueless.....

worleythewisp · 05/02/2007 21:03

hello everyone,
is bacon to salty? dunno?
i have so far given ds2 cod (with mash, carrot and broc - went down well) chicken (roast with veg and mash) lamb mince (shepards pie and veg) and today he had turkey mince with past in a veg sauce. he loves his food, but the only finger foods he has are lumps of french stick, biscotti and those organix carrot stick, hes not that co-ordinated yet to put smaller things in his mouth, hes got the hang of putting his dummy in just about, which is helpfull for night time as then i give him 3 in his cot and he finds it and settles himself down again, so now for the past few nights he has only woken once which is absolute heaven i must say!!!!!!!!!

VoodooWizbit · 05/02/2007 21:07

just fry the lamb/turkey mince???

pasta in veg sauce...how make the sauce???

what a good bub with his dummy!!

worleythewisp · 05/02/2007 21:14

our new mattress arrived yesterday to fit on our new king size bed, which was luverly. our old one was really saggy and old and i think it was a crappy one that dps mum got us about 6 years ago. so i decided we had to have a really good one this time and its such a difference. i didnt get any sore back last night or ache after getting up!

worleythewisp · 05/02/2007 21:22

the sauce is just carrot, pepper and some passata which is pureed and i got some little kiddie pasta from boots which he eats, and the lamb i just dry fry, then drain the fat off which is left. if i make it in to a shepards pie i have some veg stock (home done so no salt) which i mix in to ds's portion to moisten it a bit as when i cook ours i put some gravy in with it to moisten it then put the potato on top. i just get the veg stock by saving the water i boil all the veg in at weekends and freeze it in my breast milk freezer bags.
then when i use the risotto rice for him i cookmit in that also to add flavour and vitamins etc.

i have a really cheap book i got from sainsburys for about £2.99, you know the sort , like a womes weekly cookbook thing. i thought the annabel carmel ones were way too expensive. asda have some good ones at the moment, i stand and ready them in the aisle to get ideas from , and i surf for recipies too. i will lokk for a link from my faves i keep...

worleythewisp · 05/02/2007 21:25

do you know, i dont know how people thatbottle feed can be arsed with washing and sterilising bottles all the bloody time. i only have to do it for work and its pissing me off all ready!! (sorry)
im sick of it, and they say bottles are easyer!! my arse!!
what can be easoer than wipping your boob out!!

worleythewisp · 05/02/2007 21:41

try this one i find recipes from the bbc webs ite also and some times jamie olivers site has recipies on too.

i made ds2 spanish omellete (?spelling?) at the weekend and he ate the lot, it was his first taste of eg which went down well. it had egg (doh) potato, peas, sweetcorn and ham in. i used his formula to mix in but he cant have cheese or he is ill. he ate it all up,

he was 13lb 4 oz not 13lb 14oz as i said !! i didnt read it properly.

worleythewisp · 05/02/2007 21:44

anyway, im off to bed now, i just finshed reading my chris moyles book i got for christmas and am going to read my suttons seeds catalogue (i know its boring really) and look at all the plants that i cant afford to get this year

DeputyMacDawg · 05/02/2007 22:04

On the weaning topic, I didn't do BLW, so mainly do big pots of casseroles for all of us. I take dd's out when cooked, then add fun stuff to our share.
dd has had tinned tuna (not in brine), beef, salmon, chicken, turkey and venison, as well as bits and bobs of ours too

got dh at home for his fortnight holiday so not on 'puter as much.
On bright side am getting my hair cut tomorrow for first time since June/July (can't remember )

Adios for now

VoodooWizbit · 05/02/2007 22:27
