We have at best a year or two

I said I wouldn't post again, but since MN has been supportive I thought it only fair.

We found out this afternoon, that dh has an agressice adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. With treatment a 'good' prognosis would be a a year or two. I know that in practice it will probably be less than this.

Poor sweet man.

FIL had pancreatic cancer (large tumour apparently). He had his pancreas and some other bits removed in January and went from being in ICU on a ventilator to being, well, you wouldn't believe he'd been so ill. Hope this give you some hope that your time together will be fulfilling and as normal as it can be although obviously no one knows what the long term prognosis is.

This is beyond surgery as it has already spread to his abdoman and liver.

With chemotherpy we might be looking at a year

MB - Just wanted to say that my FIL had this and although his prognosis wasn';t good (they gave him 6months) he lived for another 7 years. Drs don't know everything so never give up hope!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I'm so sorry.

In the almost 4 yrs I've been on here nothing has made me feel sadder for a MNer. Many things have made me cry but the way you describe your DH makes my heart break at the thought of you losing him.
I truely hope that the outlook is better than you expect.

God, what unutterable bad luck to have had 3 lots of cancer, that really is total shite. I am so, so sorry- have been thinking of you lots and wondering, and hoping. I have just typed about 4 messages and deleted them all. Just want to swear on your behalf really. A lot.
