Zombie needs her limbs holding

Valpollicella · 05/03/2014 00:05

With Zombie's permission, I'm starting this thread

As many of you know she has had a hideous time through her treatment for cancer.

At the point where she was maybe out of the woods she has been asked to see her surgeon on Friday. Unexpectedly Sad

Can we all squeeze her together so her limbs don't go flailing
and do what we vipers do best?

I cannot bear the thought of her going through all the treatment s again after coming out of it before

Prayers, fingers crossing or whatever welcome right now

AdoraBell · 11/04/2014 03:07

He's a cuddly bear for you Zombie but he's going roar and scare the bastard cancer away. Smart RL friendWink

Still got everything crossed for you.

CoteDAzur · 11/04/2014 10:07

I'm glad you have good RL friends around you at this time, Zombie.

Here, have some Cake and Brew, too.

IamtheZombie · 11/04/2014 12:11

Thanks everyone.

I have my pre-op assessment appointment at 4.00 this afternoon. I'm drinking vast quantities of water so that when I pee into this silly little specimen tube it doesn't look like coffee. Which I'm also drinking in vast quantities.

I'm also thinking of treating myself to an early dinner somewhere before coming home.

mistlethrush · 11/04/2014 12:17

Wine might not be a good idea before specimen, but can you have one later?

ExitPursuedByABear · 11/04/2014 12:18
IamtheZombie · 11/04/2014 13:02

Oh, I fully intend to have a Wine later, mistle. Grin

loveliesbleeding1 · 11/04/2014 15:58

Hope you have a lovely dinner, xx

I'm back. Assessment was fine. Very detailed history taken. BP, finger clip on doodah, ECG, 5 (yes FIVE) vials of blood and MRSA nose swab.

I indulged in a wee bit of retail therapy before stuffing myself silly at Pizza Hut. Then I did a quick whizz around Sainsburys before heading home.

Unfortunately I came upon a road closure 4 miles into my journey to Shrewsbury. A road closure that hadn't been signposted at my end of those 4 miles. GRRRR. The resulting diversions turned my 46 mile roundtrip into a 60 mile roundtrip. I was not amused.

However, I'm about to open a bottle of wine so I'm sure I'll feel better very soon. Grin

NearTheWindymill · 11/04/2014 21:23

Wine, Wine. Clink. Thinking of you.

ExitPursuedByABear · 11/04/2014 21:26

I have had the MOST fantastic weekend!!

Drove into Birmingham and left my car at my friend Becky's flat. Then took a taxi into the city centre to meet an old friend for lunch. Lovely champagne lunch and a good catch up talk. It was really enjoyable.

After lunch I pottered around the city centre for a little while and then got a taxi back to Becky's. We sprawled around drinking wine and munching Doritos and dips for a couple of hours. About 6.30 we sat down to eat. 5 types of cheese, pate, chorizo, parma ham, freshly baked baguette, crudites with more dips, pickled onion, olives and picalilli. A feast fit for a queen. After an hour or so, there was very little left. We worked out way through 2 bottles of champagne, a bottle and a bit of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Becky had set up a fantastic play list on her iPod so there was also much singing and some dancing. Best of all we talked and laughed and occaisionally cried. No, actually I lie. The absolute BEST was the neck, shoulder and back massage she gave me at some point during the evening's proceedings. I think it was around 2.00am when we went to bed.

I woke up at noon. Becky's boyfriend arrived about 2.15pm. By 2.45pm we were siiting down for an awesome breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, black pudding, baked beans, curly fries and toast. After a short break we had croissants and pain au cholotat for pudding.

I left at 4.00pm and had a lovely drive home.

All in all, a most fantabulous weekend. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
