Zombie needs her limbs holding

With Zombie's permission, I'm starting this thread

As many of you know she has had a hideous time through her treatment for cancer.

At the point where she was maybe out of the woods she has been asked to see her surgeon on Friday. Unexpectedly Sad

Can we all squeeze her together so her limbs don't go flailing
and do what we vipers do best?

I cannot bear the thought of her going through all the treatment s again after coming out of it before

Prayers, fingers crossing or whatever welcome right now

Flowers and keeping up the positive vibe.

IamtheZombie · 28/03/2014 22:16

Thank you all.

I was doing fine until a few minutes ago. Val rang me because her DS wanted to say goodnight. He said "Goodnight, Zombie. I love you Zombie."

I may now have something cascading down my cheeks.

Zombie I think in the circumstances you are allowed to have tears. You are a strong woman and one of the good guys, you can and will get through this.

How are you feeling today, Zombie?

I hope you are surrounded by RL friends & family.

IamtheZombie · 30/03/2014 12:12

Morning.

I'm doing OK. The ultrasound appointment letter arrived yesterday. It's at 11.30am on Wednesday.

I spent yesterday making lists - things to do and organise before the operation and questions to ask my Breast Care Nurse.

I had a lovely surprise this morning when I opened this card. DSD1 outed herself as the sender last night. The card is signed by all 3 ZombieCats.

Morning, zombieglad you got your appt, and you can start planning, love the card, aren't they clever signing themselves! ??????

weebarra · 30/03/2014 14:08

Intelligent Zombie cats! What kind of questions are you going to ask your BCN? Mine are mostly about the drains as the idea of them freaks me out a bit. Did you say you were having node clearance too?

IamtheZombie · 30/03/2014 14:47

The ZombieCats are indeed clever and intelligent. Also beautiful.

weebarra, my surgeon will decide whether just to do a sentinel node biopsy or a full node clearance based primarily on whether or not the ultrasound shows anything of concern in the axillary nodes. There's certainly nothing palpable but then there wasn't in the breast either. I'm going to ask the sonographer to be honest about what s/he sees. That may not be protocol but I'd rather not have to wait for results.

My other questions for my BCN are about practicalities. Will I be able to drive myself home on discharge from hospital? Is there wifi anywhere in the hospital? Remind her to send me info on genetic testing. The drains don't bother me at all. That's probably because this will be my 4th breast operation. I had 2 when I had DCIS 21 years ago. They were initially so sure that it couldn't possibly be cancer that the first excision was too conservative and they didn't remove it all. Then the first mastectomy 28 months ago.
