good to hear you've booked a holiday wren. I have booked one for the end of April - based on agreement by BCN as 3 months post surgery by then but now I have an infection so I'm in a panic Angry.

Hopefully you'll hear from your head tomorrow then malt - are you hoping to start back after the Easter hols? That was the rough timetable they were always expecting wasn't it?

kitkat1967 · 09/03/2014 16:33

ooo sorry wren - you aren't going on holday it's wee Blush.

foofooyeah · 09/03/2014 18:14

malt I will join you in misery manor. Feeling v sorry for myself.
Everyone else going out having a fabulous time in te sunshine and I'm at home with my dark thoughts. Shall give myself a kick up the arse tomorrow and get out and about.

I am tentatively planning a holiday in July but now having more surgery I won't book anything up just go for a last minute thing.

wineoclocktimeyet · 09/03/2014 18:19

another one due to have a bmx, probably in May so reading with interest.

Very envious of holiday people, we were hoping to plan something for the summer but as we don't know when my rads will be due, don't feel confident planning anything.

Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine and has a good week ahead.

wineoclocktimeyet · 09/03/2014 18:22

hugs to malt and foo (and anyone else who needs them)

honeybeeridiculous · 09/03/2014 18:46

Hugs from me too to those feeling abit Sad
DF has just finished week 1 of 6 of radiotherapy, he is getting used to the face mask (claustrophobic) and doesn't tense up the whole of the session anymore Smile but this morning he came over really dizzy, so I was wondering if anyone can say if this could be a side effect from the rads as nobody has mentioned dizziness???
Oh and DD has made some rocky road

malteserzz · 09/03/2014 19:41

I'm hoping to go back before then kitkat I only have a sick note till the 17th and there's no reason really for me not to go back after that. Am tentatively looking at holidays for Easter still

Foo foo sorry you're feeling down too. I should have gone out in the sunshine too but sometimes it's hard to motivate yourself. Tomorrow is another day

Honey I haven't heard of rads causing dizziness maybe he ought to mention it tomorrow and see what they say

Last rads tomorrow I may have mentioned that already :)

honeybeeridiculous · 09/03/2014 20:01

Well done malts on getting through it all, hope you can feel abit more positive tomorrow Thanks
DF has been told, by me Grin to ask about his dizziness but I know he won't! He doesn't like to worry people Hmm

Tiny100 · 09/03/2014 20:03

As Malt says, you are greatly appreciated Amber, your posts have cheers me up on numerous occasions. Smile

Malt and Foo - It is days like these, when everyone is cheerfully up-dating their statuses about their wonderful lives, that I avoid FB. It just reminds me that life for me is not so much fun at the moment. Good Luck for your last rads session, it seems to have gone quickly.

I am not much help when it comes to rads Honey, but dehydration can cause dizziness and it has been warm today, do you think that your DF has drunk enough fluids?

honeybeeridiculous · 09/03/2014 20:06

That's a good point Tiny100 he drinks a lot of coffee Hmm but not a lot else, they force feed the patients water before the rads sessions Grin but i Will try and encourage him to drink more, thankyou

reallyreallyworried · 09/03/2014 20:24

Firstly Hi to everyone new and old Smile

I am finally feeling semi human Smile The Tax truck has finally finished driving over me and then reversing back over me! Boy it's been a tough few months! Still struggling with a few issues, BUT I think the worst is over!!!

Tomorrow I have an appt for the Rads planning. Anyone any idea approximately how long the appt takes? Haven't had much info from hospital and was hoping to get back to work after the appt!

Feeling a bit nervous about the whole Rads thing! Which is making me feel really pathetic, because EVERYONE keeps telling me that the Rads is the easy bit! Is it only me that wants to scream and shout that none of this is easy?

Anyway hopefully it's just the fear of the unknown and after tomorrow I might feel more relaxed!

Must try harder to keep up with what's happening on here, it's just been a hard few months. But I have been thinking about all of you. Xx

mildmay · 09/03/2014 20:29

Evening to all.i totally agree with you all ,who have not enjoyed sunshine today.it has made me feel so much worse.nine days since surgery and no patholgy report yet ..told by bcn to be patient.very hard.i also have started with a tugging pain on inside of arm is this cording, most pain ive had since surgery has anyone else any experiences of this.

honeybeeridiculous · 09/03/2014 21:06

really good to hear from you and great you're feeling better,
Dads rad planning took about 90 minutes but 30 of that was sat in waiting room, he had a mask moulding done, then a CT scan,
Good luck xx

malteserzz · 09/03/2014 21:12

Really compared to chemo the rads is easy but it's a pain having to go to hospital every day. Lovely as the other patients are I've found it hard being the youngest person in the waiting room, a lot of the people are a lot older and sometimes on hospital beds or wheelchairs, I've found it a bit depressing sometimes. The actual treatment is fine as you just lie there and don't feel a thing. I think my planning took about an hour including waiting, had a ct scan where they took lots of measurements and gave me my tattoos ( just a needle, didn't hurt ) they talked me through the treatment and gave me my list of times. Some of these changed so be prepared for that.

Mildmay the waiting is horrid I think I waited 2 weeks for my results. The tugging sounds fairly normal to me as everything heals, try and keep up with the exercises

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 09/03/2014 21:12

really I have pre rads and CT simulation appt this week also, but I still have one more chemo to go in 9 days time, rads not due until early April.

malt and foo hopefully happier day for you tomorrow. Be kind to yourselves, maybe treat yourselves?

I'm recovering from Tax Truck. Had DD2s birthday party today, in local gymnastics club and had 3 friends back for a few hours. Been a hectic weekend. Feeling totally shattered now. Will pour me a nice glass of red and watch some tv.

Wren48 · 09/03/2014 21:21

((Hugs)) to all feeling blue tonight.
mildmay, the tugging pain sounds like a classic symptom for post node clearance. It may be cording, but just keep going steady with the exercises as they really help. I had a lot of stiffness plus the sharp pulling pain, but it got completely better. (Now a bit worse but only because a combination of feeling poorly on chemo and being a bit lazy has meant I haven't kept up my exercises.)
really, so glad that you've waved goodbye to chemo. About time too. I hope that rads are ok.
Thanks for the rocky road, honeybee!
kitkat, I'll happily pinch Wee's holiday! Smile

Wren48 · 09/03/2014 22:05

Oh and kitkat I meant to say so sorry to hear about the infection. Hope it clears really quickly for you. Not a fair last minute hurdle.

reallyreallyworried · 10/03/2014 06:27

What is it with hospital appts and their ability to stop you sleeping Angry I saw every hour on the clock last night!

Anyway wanted to say good luck to malt hope your last Rads session goes well! You've done it Smile you've made it to the finish line Grin xx

malteserzz · 10/03/2014 07:05

Thanks really Smile
I'm the same with hospital appointments I hope it goes ok for you today I'm sure it will x

Wren48 · 10/03/2014 08:23

malt, good luck with that last session. It's an achievement to have got through all this.

Tiny100 · 10/03/2014 08:25

Happy Birthday Wren Thanks

Malt - In a few hours the rads will be over, well done in getting through it all.

Really - Lovely to hear from you, good luck with your rads planning today.

{{{Hugs}}} to everyone who needs them and a large Wine for Mom .

malteserzz · 10/03/2014 09:21

Thank you :)

Yes happy birthday wren I hope you have cake and I hope you have some lovely moments in your day x

Wren48 · 10/03/2014 09:37

Thank you!! I have a nice day planned. Chelsea Physic Garden with DH, then pizza tonight at our local Italian where we always go for birthdays with the kids and with my lovely nephew who is as bald as me from his own chemo journey.

Have had some nice presents but oh I feel a bit mixed about two scarves I've been given. They are truly beautiful and a few cuts above my usual but, um, I'm not sure that I was hoping for headscarves...... Hmm

malteserzz · 10/03/2014 09:47

Sounds like a lovely day wren. Are they definitely head scarves rather than round your neck scarves, I wear a lot of them. I know what you mean I would rather have non cancer related presents too but sometimes people don't know what to do for the best, I'm sure they were given with good intentions

weebarra · 10/03/2014 10:03

Happy birthday Wren and yay for lasy day of rads malt. Hoping everyone has a good day today. xx
