Ok those of you not happy with your tums - who is going to join me on this Sit Up thread
Its up to you how many or what type - but post here when you've done your daily dose & help to spur others on !
I'm not a fitness expert (so don't sue me if you pull a muscle ) but I've Googled some tips

Excecises
Not too many sit ups ! Do 'bicyles' too! (Bottom of link)

hi all
well done jas, increase by a cople everyday is theway to go.
ive done none at all today. yesterday went to the gym, did my workout, though feeling very tired coz of my diet, so didnt do the cycling, and only 15 situps instead of the 50 or 60. was just so lethargic. so ate more food at dinner, and feeling better since. havent done any today yet. no gym either..

Thanks stitch DVD is designed to be done every day - just 10 mins so I should be ok! Skipped yesterday but did half-hr DVD today

Sorry - been a bit preoccupied of late (interview tomorrow).
I did do 15 mins of my DVD though today. I didn;t do anymore in case I pulled a muscle & rendered my self incapable of moving tomorrow

Haven't done any this week. I've discovered that they are not good for my pre existing back problem.
Would 15 mins with a hula hoop help (when I've learnt how to do it properly)?
Can anyone recommend a short video I can do daily?

Jasnem pilates is recommended for bad backs. I'm doing 10 minute solution - pilates - it has a brilliant 10-min abs workout, very focused, back-safe and you really feel it working. Also Body Target - Abs , which has 30 mins of yoga and 30 mins of pilates.

at the gym they have this air filled cushion thing i call a pancake. it supports your back during the sit up and helps you to use your abs rather than your back muscles. maybe that would help.

not done any in days. my stomach is a big pile of flab. and to make myself feel better I am drinking some very large glasses of wine, so I can't even do em now or I will be sick

Too early for me to say whether it works bresha, I can certainly FEEL it working if that's any indication! Have missed 2 days - I PROMISE to do some later (have just eaten so can't do them right now ...)

Done some every day since Tuesday - even did two lots one day.

It is making a difference (although I need a lot to completely fix it ), and I am starting to get more into a routine of doing them so I am getting better at remembering iyswim.

I am now officially a 10 - 12, and have much much less overhang in whichever size I'm in (the lack of muscles means whatever size fits enough to stay up, fit my bum etc, I still have overhang regardless iyswim).
