Thank you lovelys. I've rang gp to do a referral I'm not sure how quick it will be an tempted to go private. Did this at diagnosis. Was 26 so put to back of list paid private and was operated on before I'd have even seen consultant! Shocking really. Nurse told me they will do ulttasound then dependent on that will aspirate. It's just a tiny gland can't imagine how

jchocchip · 11/02/2013 19:28

Oh ledkr likelyhood is that it is not sinister, hope that you get an appointment soon and can put your mind to rest.

Gigondas · 11/02/2013 19:31

Waves at ledkr- agree that sooner you get seen the better. I would go private if it is quicker.

Gigondas · 11/02/2013 19:31

Yes we definitely do need one - smee. Anyone else up for it?

KurriKurri · 11/02/2013 19:31

Love the pictures MAS - very good as always Smile - is the joke book out yet?

Gig - probably very wise not to take her for jabs - they can make them feel a bit grotty for a few days afterwards anyway IIRC.

Ledkr - so sorry you are having a worrying time, have you been referred to the clinic?
I don't expect the worry and paranoia ever really go away with this cancer business.
I don't have any real experience of what you describe, - I do have a moveable lump under my arm on my mastectomy side, on my ribcage, which is scar tissue.
I would guess the fact that your lump is moveable is a good sign. have they said what they intend to do yet? - I had mine ultrasound scanned and they were able to say straight away it was nothing serious, so hopefully it may be something like that for you. Anyway good luck, and do stick around for hand holding if you are feeling a bit wobbly xx

pen and Ned - your lunch sounds lovely and very yummy (makes note of Bailey's profiteroles for future reference) Not sure when I'll next be down, but hopefully it won't be too long and we can all meet up for a massive pig out ladylike lunch Grin
MAS - I hope we can arrange a London meet up soon, it would be so lovely to see you, and all the other London or nearish tamoxifenners Smile Although I have to say that the train service from Norwich to London seems to have been replaced by a steam omnibus while they dig up the line, and it now takes about seven hours for the journey!

I didn't know post it notes were invented in the 70's - they seem much more recent

smee · 11/02/2013 19:41

Yes to London meet up. Easy for me, though MAS, we'll have to co-ordinate stripes. Grin

ledkr, go private if it puts your mind at rest quicker, though you might be surprised by the speed of NHS. I went to GP on a Thursday and was diagnosed the following Tuesday.

MAS, they're great. I love the huge hairy thing looking down on the girl and the confused rabbit. Grin

smee · 11/02/2013 19:44

Meant to say but, Jane will you be too swish to talk to us soon? Grin

ledkr · 11/02/2013 19:45

Thanks again. Yes I know things are better now (I campaigned for the changes) maybe ill see first how long n stuff.

jchocchip · 11/02/2013 19:58

Lol smee, no not too swish at all! Office is lovely cos of the City Hall gothic style architecture but hasn't been decorated for 20 years... so a bit down at heel but lovely high ceilings and fireplaces.

PenisColada · 11/02/2013 21:18

Can I just storm in and moan about the Macmillan advert I have just had the misfortune to see. I did not like it.

Am I just very over sensitive ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/02/2013 21:48

on telly pen ?
well done for first day jane -it all sounds impressive.
Book out on 13th April I think...
Definitely would love a meeting - let's think about dates...
Chilly here as heating has decided to not come on - engineer due tomorrow between 12 and 6, hope it can be sorted...

Lonecatwithkitten · 11/02/2013 22:12

ledkr they will be able to aspirate it if you can feel it - I meet someone last week who had successfully aspirated a mass on a Hamsters heart so anything is possible.
Topsy do you know why they were yellow though, because that was the colour of the paper in the lab next door when they asked to borrow some to try the idea out - total fluke. The post it note is one of the top 10 accidental discoveries of the 1970s!!!
More little projects have rolled off the production line tonight though none are finished as I am waiting for additional wool that should be here on Wednesday. We have a baby blanket, baby balls, Easter decorations and jam jar covers.

topsyturner · 11/02/2013 22:41

Am not happy .
It was the last in the series of Lewis .
And - look away now if you don't want any spoilers !
The way they ended it suggests there will be no more .

topsyturner · 11/02/2013 22:43

Ledkr - reaching out to hand hold
No point telling you not to worry as that ain't gonna happen is it ?

topsyturner · 11/02/2013 22:44

Erm Lonecat ?
Baby balls ?
Should I ask ???
Grin

jchocchip · 12/02/2013 06:57

Er telly switched over for Lewis but I slept through most of it. Try again tonight!

Morning all let's have a Brew

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/02/2013 07:22

ah, the boiler is working but am thinking maybe I should still have the man in to check it- it stayed off yesterday evening when it should have kicked in...

OP posts:
Lonecatwithkitten · 12/02/2013 08:47

Topsy little crocheted balls for babies to play with! Very traditional toy.

topsyturner · 12/02/2013 09:26

I had a very different picture in my mind Lone ........ Grin

Gigondas · 12/02/2013 09:29

Bah- topsy lowering the tone Grin

Mas - get that engineer in as ime the boiler will only go again ifyou cancel it.

Nervous as first afternoon in office today then physio then nice meal with dh later. Feels like my first day at school.

KurriKurri · 12/02/2013 10:53

Good luck today Gig - am sure you will be fine, but first days are always a bit nerve racking.

MAS - I'd definitely get the boiler checked - as Gigs says if you leave it, you can guarantee it will go wrong.

topsy - check the telly thread - I have written an outline for a comeback episode for Lewis and Silent Witness Grin (HathawayLite thread) Someone had to do it!

I am doing house work today - i bought some green marigold type gloves from Lidl the other day, and as soon as I put my hands into the washing up, the gloves have turned a sort of nicotine yellowy-brown Confused - wonder what would have happened to my hands if I hadn't had the gloves on Grin

What I'm really doing is MNetting and thinking 'If I won the lottery I would pay someone else to cook, clean, iron and generally wait on me' and having Brew of course - anyone else want one?

love to all, - waving to Lone and Jchoc, hope bruising is a bit less painful today Lone.

topsyturner · 12/02/2013 11:02

Yes to getting boiler checked Mas
5 members (including us) of our immediate family have had our pumps blow up since Christmas !

Gigs good luck for today .
Feel free to smack the first person who does the "and how are you " thingy !!!

topsyturner · 12/02/2013 11:04
Gigondas · 12/02/2013 11:08

Don't give it away you two. I have Lewis all stored up to watch.

And I will be smacking any head tilters or "you look so well" types.

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/02/2013 11:51

quite right gig - hope it all goes well and nice dinner to look forward to.
Am keeping my engineer appointment- just in case- think it might be thermostat not telling boiler when to click on - has been fine and dandy since this morning
