oh dear- tried to get Celeste to do a paw print on a little Valentine card for Theo - dipped her paw in pink food colouring but it went everywhere -too much on the card and drips on my jeans and paw prints on the duvet. Managed to wipe her foot but it's still pinkish.

OP posts:
Lonecatwithkitten · 11/02/2013 11:01

MAS the trick with animal paw prints is to use an ink pad and then immediately wipe the feet off with surgical spirit.
Gig I always went with the Brazilian advice give the Calpol before you go for the appointment for jabs.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/02/2013 11:10

dang... will the food colouring be ok for cat ? wiped as much as I could off...

OP posts:
Gigondas · 11/02/2013 11:12

Will try that lonecat Smile

Its food dye isn't it and you have tried to wipe it? I doubt it will do her much harm- your jeans on the other hand Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 11/02/2013 11:54
Grin

Food colouring should be OK for Celeste, surely - give it a wipe and then send her out into the garden to rub it off naturally.

Have you lot all got snow? We've got loads and it's a right pain.

graciesmall09 · 11/02/2013 12:44

I'm sure the food colouring will be ok mas. Really hope it comes off your jeans.

Good luck today with injections gigs. I'm another one who Calpol'd up before vacs. That and chocolate buttons always did the trick.

Thanks ash and gigs unfortunately no medical officer, we don't even have a personnel officer just covered by our finance director who is the person I contacted. It is probably the fact I am trying to use leave for a phased return rather than the fact I am asking for a phased return. I probably do have a bit of a cheek asking to use some of last year's leave but as far as I know I am entitled to it.

Envy sometimes no snow here although no rain either which makes a change.

topsy loving your drunken ebay bargain.

amberlight · 11/02/2013 13:29

Brew for those having a wobble. And I have some white choc chip cookies going spare? Before my diet this week, of course.

Another one hoping for a viewing of the coat, Tipsy Wink
FineLad is doing well with his eye. Consultant tomorrow then he's hoping I will take him back to Uni Hmm
We shall see about that.
In a good mood despite office phone problems and snow, as the charity book I've co-written is out! Hurrah! Feels like progress somehow. For those who are bored enough to look at the link, it's www.brfonline.org.uk/9780857461575/ No royalties but don't care.

Sometimesiwonder · 11/02/2013 15:07

Well done amber

smee · 11/02/2013 15:28

Ooh, yes Amber. Smile

Gracie, you could call Macmillan and ask what you're entitled to, that way you're armed with facts. Then just put it in an e-mail and ask them to reply? Doesn't have to be confrontational and it'll be hard for them to argue with if you know for sure what you're entitled to. You sound like you need treats. x Smile

Loan, I remember that bruised look. Not good. Pull on a vest, it'll soon be gone. Smile

Hope Jane found her new desk and mini Gig isn't too grouchy after her jabs. Waving to all I've missed. Snow was here, now gone though sleet falling.

KurriKurri · 11/02/2013 16:01

for gracie, - anniversaries are always so hard. I hope the argument with Ds has been resolved, and that you can get the leave from work sorted, it sounds as if you need a bit more time and a gradual return, and you should be supported in that by your workplace.

Good luck to MiniGig for her jabs, hope all goes well.

jane - hope the first day went well Smile - your new outfit sounds just the ticket, and well done for losing so much weight - you are a star Smile

amber - congratulations on the book, - you should be proud of yourself

ledkr · 11/02/2013 16:13

Hi all. I pop in from time to time but its twenty years since my diagnosis so not much.
However I have recently found a little lump in my rib area on the opposite side to my ca side. It feels like a small gland and is movable but I'm still terrified and have to go through the whole referral process.
I have had a bi lat mastectomy with recon so it could be anything, but I'm feeling that old sense if dread Sad anyone got any experience of this? I've got dd two so thinking all sorts.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/02/2013 16:15

oh well done amber - am impressed too !
Celeste not so pink now - she was quite obliging with her foot really, just me not really thinking it through- scrubbed most of the pink off the duvet and turned it on the other side (it was clean on too)

Oh dear too - it seems that T has missed his singing lesson (lots of confusion because of after school maths revision class clashing,so the music dept. swapped his lesson but he was nowhere to be found -grrr) He's obviously managed the revision class as he's not home yet, but his music ensemble piece is coming up,so not good to have missed. Mustn't get stressed by such things though - he is awfully scatty.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/02/2013 16:17

waves to ledkr sorry you are having wobbles - I think this is always going to happen sadly...are you seeing your gp ?

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 11/02/2013 16:29

Hugs to ledkr - no experience directly, except of that cold dread when the paranoia slinks back in. Get an appointment as soon as you can, I am willing it to be OK for you x

smee · 11/02/2013 16:46

ledkr, I haven't a clue other than to say if it feels like a gland and is moveable, it's probably okay, as cancer is mostly hard and immovable. Obviously you won't rest until you know though. Have you been to GP yet? Stick around and let us help you through. xx

Mas, how's the cold now? Are you feeling any better? Grr for DS about his lesson. Boys are so annoying!

Lonecatwithkitten · 11/02/2013 17:15

Food colouring will be fine though poos maybe a funny colour for a while.
What fun blood tests today. Just to check the pernicious anaemia is behaving. It gets me that I can run a full profile on a cat with 2mls of blood, but yet to do a full blood count (not as full as I do) and B12 and folate they need 14 mls of blood what do they do with it?
DD has homework this evening to write about a 1970s invention. She has chosen the post it note so I now know it was originally called press 'n peel. Better go and put my ear plugs in for her clarinet practice - no thats not fair she's actually quite good.

topsyturner · 11/02/2013 18:10

We used to call post it notes "FLYMs"
Stood for Fucking Little Yellow Memos !
Don't think DD should include that in her project though ... Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/02/2013 18:29

arf topsy !
Still horribly coldy - I hate the snuffling,it's gross.
Thought you might like a sneak preview of my joke book -I wrote a short blog for my agent about it

We had a lovely lunch and are planning to do it again. We chatted for ages and ned was very good company. You must let us know when you are in Dorset kirri and we can all get together.

My prescription exemption card arrived today. It must all be real then. Still feel like it is happening to someone else most of the time.

NedSchneebly · 11/02/2013 18:56

Evening lovelies - it goddamn chilly here. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRH!

Had an really good meet up with pen today - she is a most excellent lady and we had a great chat and a laugh. I had lasagne and then Bailey's profiteroles (kurri take note!) and pen had fish and chips and then apple pie. Yum all round! Hoping to meet up again sometime.

Saw Doctor Lovely today - my skin is still giving me grief, so have been given some super strong antihistamines and more antibiotics as some of scratchy bits infected. She says its a sort of eczema/ atopic dermatitis thing, but she's not really sure Hmm

MAS blog looks excellent, and lots of your lovely pics. Well done you!

and amber well done on the book being published. What a talented lot you all are Smile

ledkr definitely get thee to GPs. Hang around while you're waiting and we can distract you.

arf Grin @ topsy's FLYMs! Definitely not one for lonecat's DDs project!

Ooh your lunch sounds nice.i like my exemption card as intend to max it out.

Hope skin improves ned.

Mini gig escaped her jabs as has been feral and high maintenance with teeth all day so cancelled half an hour before (2 weeks time now) as didn't think it was a good idea. Of course she cheered up after that Hmm.

WineMight be a good idea anyway

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/02/2013 19:09

We should have our London meet up - so far I've only met ned Grin
Am having a glass of wine and some crisps

OP posts:
jchocchip · 11/02/2013 19:23

Mmmmm pen and ned sounds like you had a good day. Hope the skin improves quickly.
I think I am going to like my new job and the office is rather swish. Have desk and should have pooter cable sorted out tomorrow. Have a plan of desks with names so that will help and now I know that office is first room off stairwell, should be able to find it on my own tomorrow. Work was confidential today. Have been given a little area to learn for starters so doesn't feel too daunting. Training course tomorrow, too so they obv have more of a training budget than Planning did!
mas and gig def Wine o'clock Think I'll find that gin again Grin
