Am wheeling the trolley over....

KK glad not too squishy, when I had mammograms after the chemo diet they struggled to find anything to squish, so it became a challenge Shock I have therefor dutifully added some flesh on for them......

jchocchip · 28/11/2012 07:26

Morning all. you've been busy. glad the mammo wasn't too squishy kk Can't do name dropping because I never remember names. Realised after two episodes of 'last tango' that I don't know the name of even one of the characters - am enjoying it though... Time for a Brew, then work.

smee · 28/11/2012 10:28

Loma, I'm still nippleless and that's two years on from treatment. Have been told nipple reconstruction is only once the skin's settled and you're happy with the shape/ symmetry. Definitely ask Surgeon for rationale though.

Kurri, well done on mammo. I'd phone too. Seems insane that they don't get how we worry. I'm sure it will be fine though. Smile

MAS those pictures sound lovely. Does your editor ever ask you to revise drawings, or is that it once you've handed it over on Friday?

Mini-Smee wasn't blown away yesterday and had fun at Tate Modern. He's been there lots over the years and always loves it. He said out of his class he was the only one who'd been before. MAS, I love the shops too. Definitely on my list to head to for Stocking fillers. Smile

Sometimesiwonder · 28/11/2012 11:53

I'm just diving in here, and see a suggestion that MAS has finished the pictures. Really?? All of them? Well done to you!

Glad the mammo wasn't to squishy KK, and glad mini-smee is still on his feet.

You'd definitely recommend Tate Modern, clearly. Hmm, shall add it into the pot for consideration. We're down in London on Saturday to see The Lion King. Sunday's a day for seeing other stuff!

Hope you are all doing OK, my lovelies. I am fine but a bit busy with work. I've got a meeting with a VILP (very important legal-type person) tomorrow, so I have had to go out and buy a very sober Smart Dress. I look very round in it Hmm, but also serious, for once.

smee · 28/11/2012 12:13

Waving to Sometimes. Smile Tate Modern's great. It's free (apart from a couple of bits) and you can dip in for half an hour or until they get bored. Shop/ cafes are good and the Turbine Hall's impressive just to walk through. If it's a nice day, you could get the bus from the Strand along Fleet Street as that's interesting along there. Get off outside St Pauls, then walk over the bendy bridge (great views!) to Tate Modern. Mooch round there for a bit, then walk along the Southbank. There's masses along there and once you get to National Theatre/ RFH there's the Christmas Market and all sorts of buskers. You'll have to let me know what Lion King's like. Hope VILP meet goes well. Sounds v.grown up. Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 28/11/2012 12:36

Ooh thanks! Useful info to know!

I'll certainly let you know what the show's like - tickets were a birthday gift for the three of us. I wasn't sure at first, but am getting excited now Grin

The meeting DOES sound grown-up, I agree. That's what's bothering me, really. Growing up is something that seems to have passed me by.

Has smee junior got to be anything good in the Christmas play/concert/whatever? Dd's just singing in a big group - the year 5s and 6s do a combined panto, but the year 6s get the decent parts, while the year 5s just sort of offer a bit of support Grin

smee · 28/11/2012 12:42

Apparently little Smee's wearing a woolly jumper and hat and dancing along to 'Rocking Around the Christmas Tree'. They do their big show in the summer at his school. Auditions are next week, which seems astonishing to me. He's very happy just to stay on the back row of the chorus. Grin

Growing up seems to have passed me by too. Have no intention of starting now. Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/11/2012 13:43

I definitely don't wsnt to grow up Grin
Glad there was not too much squishyness kk - they should contact a person to say it's ok,not leave you waiting and wondering
smee glad that ds had a good time- he is a cultured boy. There's the Design Museum shop too, which has jolly things.
There aren't usually changes or corrections needed as I tend to do more drawings than necessary and they can substitute
I'm not sure how many there are altogether as I was allowed to skip a few of the expected 300,but there;s a sizeable pile on my desk.
Took dad to his procedure and they let me go in with him- v small op to remove sun damage on his forehead- interesting and I managed the blood bit so am definitely improving there Grin Afterwards we met my bc nurse because i needed to give her a cheque for the secondaries group lunch and we had hot choc and croissants together in the Costa which was v nice...stroked a lovely PAT dog who was going up to the children's ward - such a lovely idea.
Pesky central locking on my car has gone so charles in unlocked- can go to Citroen garage tomorrow but am anxious about leaving him.

Blimey, talk about leaving it until the last minute! Shock Dd's school start in October (which is a bit much, really). I don't think they'll do any work for the rest of the term. To be fair though, the panto's a blast Grin

'Rocking around the Christmas Tree' sounds good, too! I love a bit of lively Christmas music Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 28/11/2012 13:55

Hi MAS!

What a bugger about Charles Sad. I wouldn't be able to rest if it was mine, either.

I still think it's a magnificent effort to complete all those drawings in such a short timeframe, especially with sore hands.

Hope your Dad is feeling OK. Even little quick procedures can leave you feeling quite woozy afterwards. (and well done on the blood Grin )

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/11/2012 14:00

he has a bit of a headache poor thing- he came over to help me undo the car key to change the battery - think he's going to have a lie down.
Am hoping that a journey to town might help and shake something about in the car- am going to pick up Sophie and have to drive as need to get back to take T to piano...

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 28/11/2012 14:13

Don't overdo it though

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/11/2012 14:26

I won't Grin

OP posts:
smee · 28/11/2012 14:57

Ooh yes, MAS thanks for reminding me about Design Museum shop. Must go there too. Smile

I think you're a marvel too. And how lovely that you could be there with your dad. Glad he's through that then. I'll be stern with Sometimes, so definitely don't overdo it. Grin

KurriKurri · 28/11/2012 15:08

Hi all, hope your Dad is OK MAS, - bound to feel slightly battered for a couple of days, good that he's got it done though. And lovely to meet up with BCN for coffee - she always sounds lovely. Well done on finishing the pictures - brilliant achievement considering the size of the job and the fact that you've been dealing with chemo! Grin

Sometimes - am sure you look very businesslike in your new dress, - meeting does sound grown up, I know if I had to go to things like that I would choke on a biscuit and snort coffee through my nose or something equally unsophisticated Grin My DD went to the Lion King a few years ago on a school trip - she loved it, so I'm sure you will have a great time.

Little Smee's Christmas thing sounds fun, and his trip to TM. I haven't managed to grow up yet either - I am thinking perhaps it's never going to happen Grin

Copt - my mammo problem is not so much lack of flesh (I have plenty!)as lack of height, the nurse kept hoiking my boob up to reach the machine (or maybe the problem is a touch of 'heading South itis')

Jchoc - I like Last Tango too, but missed it last night as I had to go out, will have to catch up on iplayer before next week. It's The Hour tonight - anyone else watching that? - I love it.

Yoga this morning - I still feel stiff and achy after Monday's session, - old age must be creeping up on me.

jchocchip · 28/11/2012 17:43

jchocchip · 28/11/2012 17:53

hmmm how did that happen? Lost a post then repeated this mornings!
I said I loved Lion King when I went a couple of years ago and will watch The Hour on iplayer. Dh went to get skin tags removed today - one is going for testing as it grew quickly and was v big.
Time for a Wine soon, methinks...

JustFabulous · 28/11/2012 18:06

Hi everyone, sorry to have not kept up with you all.

I had my results appointment today and it was awful but I am fine. Confused with what it going on but I don't have the endrometrial cancer he so casually said I might have. Still waiting on my mammogram results.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/11/2012 18:08

sometimes am sure new business like dress is v lovely- I have one dress (I lie - I still hve the 50s dress I wore for my private view which was a stunningly fab vintage find) and it's a couple of years old now- from Kew-black silky stuff, which is a handy standby. I never know what to do in dresses.
Hope dad is feeling ok- he was very brave !
Good news too - Charles is ok- central locking clicked back into action when we got to Sophie's house- yay ! He can be a bit odd when it comes to electrics.

Thank you MAS.

jchocchip · 28/11/2012 18:38

Phew for fab
Hurray for Charles
Forgot to say,I've lost my hairdresser :( Was quite sad to hear she had left today when I cracked and had it done by one of the other girls. It was ok. But I liked C and she is excellent and always remembered what we had talked about last time... I know it isn't important in tgsot but :(

Gigondas · 28/11/2012 19:32

Yay for fab but Sad it was horrid experience .

Glad Charles fixed and your dad did ok mas.

Waves to sometimes and jchoc - It isn't minor , it is very annoying when you lose a good hairdresser.

kurri how was yoga? Also you got any good veggy recipes involving chestnuts?

smee that sounds so cute for little smee. Big gig just has to sing songs wearing a smart version of her uniform (good luck with that as concert is after lunch and the kids manage to look very bedraggled no matter how you send them in).

Am knackered but hoping teething pain with mini gig subsiding although she has a cough and managed to vomit over big gigs bed just as she was due to go to bed. I am sure it's why I am feeling a bit dismal today.

Thanks for other all reception hell stories - we had parents night last night and sure enough big gig ok at school. Lets hope it is not a long lived phase.

Am offering something retro for the fbs trolley - fancy a bols

jchocchip · 28/11/2012 20:14

Mmmm banana! How come we only have green and blue in the cupboard?

smee · 28/11/2012 20:17

Yes, yay for FAB from me too. So glad you got the all clear on that. Just the mammo to go now and I think you'd have probably heard from them already if there was a problem. Could you ring to find out? Smile

Annoying about your hairdresser, Jane. Sad not to have got to say farewell. I wonder where she's gone..

I am not a dressy sort of person either. I'd bet you look amazing in yours Sometimes and MAS that fifties dress sound fabulous. glad to hear Charles is shipshape again. Can you say that about a car? Confused

Kurri, hope aches go soon. How's your dd? Is she any better?

Gig, DS's school are great at having fun with things. I do love their Christmas thing as all the different classes sing a song each and they do little plays too. Always v.cute and funny. Is Big gig looking forward to it? That Bols looks like a great nip on a cold night. Pass it over. Grin
