MaryAnnSingleton · 01/04/2012 22:39

and yes- I week left of no chocolate !!!!!

OP posts:
jchocchip · 01/04/2012 22:48

Just a bit worried about haywire periods. If I was on my 28 day cycle I would get it out of the way before my holiday. Toilets in Morocco are decidedly variable :( If available at all. I had to go to the loo every hour or so today... Sorry tmi.

Six more days. Lindt chocolate eggs are 29p in home bargains, scrummy.

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/04/2012 09:38

I can see that'd be a worry jane - I would fret about that. This period has been as normal- just a very long gap in between.

Nanny now signed off sick for a week, drain can't come out for another two days at least so I would think zero chance of starting rads next week...

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/04/2012 11:18

Sad gig - that's incredibly irritating on both counts

OP posts:
Gigondas · 02/04/2012 11:19

I know - am coping ok but it's Catch 22 as more I have to do, slower it heals. But not a lot I can do

KurriKurri · 02/04/2012 14:01

Sad - Gig, how frustrating, irritating about the nanny, - I'm sorry for her if she is poorly, but it's the worst possible timing for you. Try not to get to down about the drain and possible rescheduling of rads, - I know one builds oneself up to start these things, but better to be properly healed before you start. Very frustrating though I know. xx

jane - hope no new bruises have appeared overnight. - Sorry I can't be any help on the haywire periods, - I'd had a hysterectomy long before my cancer DX, so didn't have to contend with that problem. - I don't know what to suggest, - just hope it settles soon so you aren't struggling on your holiday.

MrsMc - night sweats are horrible, - I found them very difficult to cope with, the only comfort I can offer is that they were much worse the first year I was on tamox. but have since settled down a bit. - Have you got a fan you can plug in somewhere near your bed (I had one on all the time) and I found hot drinks tended to trigger hot flushes in me.

Waving to MAS Smile

I went to yoga this morning, and am planing some gardening this afternoon - its a lovely day here.

love to all.

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/04/2012 15:25

waving back to kk
Beautiful here, have been to town, bought various Easter things in a bit of a panic- very cute plain choc bunnies for my parents...and lots of creme eggs for ds to hunt.

Just a quickie .
Guess who just phoned me ?
My breast care nurse .
Only took her 3 full weeks !

KurriKurri · 02/04/2012 16:20

Shock topsy, - did you say 'you took your time love' ? Grin

Was she helpful and able to reassure?- I hope so.

Talking of hospital type stuff - I just phoned the plastic surgery dept. - remember Dr Knob had done my referral 'that day' when I phoned the week before last and was to get an appointment last week? - well needless to say it never happened. Plastics just told me the referral was done on 28th March, and I might hear this week. Dr Knob and his secretary are big fat liars, pants on fire.

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/04/2012 16:20

bloody hell Sad

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 02/04/2012 16:21

sheesh

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 02/04/2012 16:26

MAS - I need to do easter shopping too, I usually get one for DD, and I might get one for DDIL, - it's her birthday this week, but I won't see her until the weekend, so might pop an egg in with her present.

Gigondas · 02/04/2012 16:42

Is it in the consultant exams that they don't do admin? Experience has taught me that you don't rely on what they say (hence my emails today to fix radio therapy).

KurriKurri · 02/04/2012 16:55

I think it is Gig, - but admin. is obviously a big no-no for their secretaries too Grin.

Gigondas · 02/04/2012 17:01

I think there biggest skill is to cover when they areplaying golf busy

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/04/2012 18:24

arf ! I have had my notes lost and a letter with a mammo recall from consultant but he'd forgotten to make the appointment.

OP posts:
topsyturner · 02/04/2012 18:25

According to my retired GP fil and dhs retired uncle consultants , it's the younger consultants who are the worst offenders .
I hear constantly "it was never like that in my day" and "we worked 97 hours a day and then stayed on and did our paperwork
"
Grin

Gigondas · 02/04/2012 18:27

Don't we all say that?Grin

topsyturner · 02/04/2012 19:19

Well I did walk 37 miles to school , in the snow , barefoot gig Grin

topsyturner · 02/04/2012 19:38

Is there a full moon tonight ?
Do I have "be horrible to topsy " stamped on my forehead ?
No ?
Oh good .
Does that mean I can tell DH to feck the feck orf then ?

Gigondas · 02/04/2012 19:38

After doing your shift in the mines?

Gigondas · 02/04/2012 19:40

Yes go on - tell him.

I would like to tell nanny that (and people who are telling me aibu not to let her break or leave outside a mega expensive pushchair. This was my indulgence purchase post mc/horrid pregnancy ... Hence why I am unusually precious).

NedSchneebly · 02/04/2012 19:49

These consultants are clearly in need of some retraining. . .

Angry for you kurri Mr Knob has a lot to answer for. When do you hope to finally get an appointment?

topsy what has that rotter Mr Topsy done? He is clearly being unreasonable. . . He is a man. . Could you set pig/dog on him? Tell him to feck off to feckland and then when he gets there, feck off some more. . .

gig Sad for you about drain and Angry about nanny. She sounds the prrecious one, not you. Hope you are OK x

jchoc sorry you're suffering with rubbish cycle. No experience, just sympathising. When you off to Morocco? Am Envy!!

Waves to MAS and anyone else on this evening x x x

KurriKurri · 02/04/2012 19:59

Oh yes tell him to feck off topsy, - we'll all join in (don't know what he's done, but if he's anything like my DH it'll be something v.annoying)

Who is saying you ABI Gig? - they are tossers.

Ned - when is your next cycle, - it's this week isn't it?

The receptionist in plastics said I might hear this week, but added 'don't hold me to that though'
