princesses dont sweat. or go red. i just got a slight flush...

Twink · 13/11/2003 13:38

Can tell I'm not royalty - I go beetroot red and sweat for England, got chucked out of the study when I got back this morning cos I was dripping everywhere

Blu · 13/11/2003 13:53

I'm up for it, as am now on my New Me Kick as inspired by B'root. Will be alternating it with going to the gym and doing my 'Front Room Workout'.
NORTHERNER: didn't see a reply to your bin bag q: DO NOT run in a bin bag. Not only will you attract people with wierd perversions, but you will risk dehydration. The extra sweat/weight you lose will be put straight back on the first time you have anything to drink. Not worth the discomfort...or new friends!!!!

Northerner · 13/11/2003 14:02

Twink - you say you're not royalty but you have a study. This makes you a member of the heirachy (sp?) IMO !

Twink · 13/11/2003 14:36

LOL Northener !

hana · 13/11/2003 17:05

Have just put my running gear in the car for tomorrow lunctime, I'm one who goes incredibly red in the face for hours afterwords.......but I'm excited about going. There are a couple of women who go out regularly as well, so I'll have someone to talk to!

codswallop · 13/11/2003 17:58

Hooray - dont forget the bra - dont want collisions near you as men stop to gawp

lilibet · 13/11/2003 18:00

I cant run, but so far this week have done 2 2mile walks. Going for another in a bit. I am so unfit, get out of breath very easily. Will keep going tho'.

hana · 13/11/2003 18:22

Sadly, no need for a bra here. Am back to a AA. Would be a triple if there was such a thing, but that would mean I'm back to wearing nothing! which sometimes I do.....perk of the size.

codswallop · 13/11/2003 18:24

Ohh I loved being pregnant esp toward the end and all through breastfeeding.....the best (biggest bit?!) was the first few weeks. Will always have the pictures to prove it. Sighhhhh

codswallop · 14/11/2003 08:29

Twink · 14/11/2003 08:46

Going at lunchtime today, well that's the plan anyway but it might start raining before then

tigermoth · 14/11/2003 13:14

Ran in to work this morning. Wonder how a dripping black bin liner would go down in my office.
Cold, well, cool, showers work magic on redness of face, I find.

codswallop · 14/11/2003 13:15

well done - twink?

OP posts:
Northerner · 14/11/2003 13:16

I'm not running tonught Coddy but I am going to Spin. This must count as I am very red and breathless at the end!

codswallop · 14/11/2003 13:18

thats serious excercise - get off htis thread!!

OP posts:
Northerner · 14/11/2003 13:20

I know! I hate every second of it but as far as cardiovascular excercise goes it get's the best results. You burn aprox 1000 calories per session.

Twink · 14/11/2003 17:02

Did 15 mins on treadmill plus 10 mins cross trainer, 5 mins stepper & 10 mins rower so am just planning a pizza/red wine fest to make sure I don't waste away (as if !)

Ooh Spinning's scary, last time I tried it I got off at the end and my legs wouldn't hold me up!

codswallop · 14/11/2003 17:20

You are supposed to be amateur runners Guys! Feeling out excercised....

OP posts:
hana · 14/11/2003 18:04

ok, went running at lunch with two other women ( who were MUCH more used to running than I was) Lasted about 12 minutes at a steady pace, stopped and went back. Felt great to do! Redness in the face lasted most of the afternoon though, yuck.

codswallop · 14/11/2003 18:24

Twink · 14/11/2003 18:36

Sorry Coddy I'll disappear back to the sit-ups thread if you like but when I started 18 months ago I couldn't run home from the post box if it started to rain (20 metres) so your mile every couple of days would have KILLED me, well I couldn't have done it at all if I'm honest.

Someone once said to me that the only important thing is the level of effort you feel you're putting in, as long as you're trying it's not important whether you're walking for 30 minutes 3 times a week or running 60 miles a week.

If I mention Race For Life again Scummymummy will take me outside at the next meet-up but it was thanks to their training programme I made progress and got hooked.

codswallop · 16/11/2003 16:29

am going to night - will report back - need to down roast chicken first
