Would you like to gain a stone by easter?

If the answer is yes, then this is the place for you. We are the Worst Healthy Eating Thread Ever, or WHETE.

I'm Bitter, and with the help of the lovely ladies on this thread I have gained half a stone since christmas.

We are all doing it in our own way, some are stuffing chocolate, some are gorging on carbs, I have chosen to quit smoking and combine my newly discovered taste buds with no exercise whatsoever.

So if you would like to spend your days chatting about things you have eaten, things you are going to eat or hell, just things you would like to eat, pull up a bariatric chair and tuck in.

No timewasters.

Afternoon. Glad appt went well. Desire, sounds like a change of approach is needed to either allow for extra cals at weekend and have less in week, or having a habit change and finding different ways to relax and avoid the drink. Suspect the latter is the best way for future. Regardless, start again right now with the healthier lifestyle, new month etc.

Glad hospital went ok Mouse, think you are right Total, will have to find different way to relax because I end up undoing all the good I do during the week!

Mouseface · 01/02/2011 12:56

Right, off to clean as much as I can, feed the washer and dryer and eat something.

May even stick JK on as I potter Grin

desiretochange · 01/02/2011 14:15

Never thought I would see the day when I am soooooo looking forward to having a rye cracker with philadelphia extra light and cucumber! I am HUNGRY!

Mouseface · 01/02/2011 14:36

Ham salad wholemeal roll for lunch and a packet of Quavers. Diet Coke next.

I'm still hungry.

Knackered from housework and Nemo is refusing sleep. Typical.

desiretochange · 01/02/2011 14:40

Hey Mouse!

Mouseface · 01/02/2011 14:48

How you feeling? Any more motivated?

desiretochange · 01/02/2011 15:26

Motivation fell by the wayside at the weekend but am back in the game today, how many calories is a woman supposed to eat in a day?

Adult 2000.

You'd be better aiming for 1750, then 1500 the week after.

Lots of protein, low fat dairy, eggs, that sort of thing.

Better as well to eat more cals earlier in the day so that you burn them off before bed.

Assuming you won't taking part in anything, ahem, active once there! Wink

TotalChaos · 01/02/2011 15:44

Unless v tall or v active its roughly 1800 - 2000 to maintain and 1400 - 1500 to lose a pound per week

Maybe I should try your diet Bitter Wink

Mouseface · 01/02/2011 16:29

Eh up Mrs. How's the dawg?

desiretochange · 01/02/2011 17:06

Just been looking at Rosemary Conley's diet in a magazine and she has laid out a menu plan but adding up all the calories, it only comes to 1200, is that too low?

Mouseface · 01/02/2011 17:12

Maybe to start with, you'll drop faster but then stall.....

I find gradual reduction of calorie control works best.

Less likely to fail too.

desiretochange · 01/02/2011 17:15

If I give you example of her menu that I am following today, what would you add to it to ensure I stay on the right road Mouse, for breakfast I had 2 grilled rashers and scrambled egg (should have had tomatoes and mushrooms but forget to get them yesterday), for mid-morning snack I had 150g strawberries, for lunch I had 400g tin of tomato soup and a yoghurt, mid-afternoon snack 1 rye cracker with philadelphia light cheese, was meant to have cucumber as well but couldn't face it.
For dinner, it's pasta bolognese. What would you add to it?

desiretochange · 01/02/2011 17:16

Seen the diet in the magazine at the weekend and it was only when I was adding up the calories a few mins ago that I realised how few calories there are in it, and I don't want to lose weight too fast, because I know it will all pile on again :(

TotalChaos · 01/02/2011 17:19

Lunch sounds tiny, wld add maybe some ryvita and chicken or other protein to it, and wld add to afternoon snack maybe some more fruit

Mouseface · 01/02/2011 17:20

Exactly.

Lunch - add a wrap, nothing on it or plain salad. Tesco lighter choices wraps are 170 cals each.

Or pack of Quavers/Snack-a-Jacks. Both 80 + cals each but you get a carb fix.

WATER!!!!! It really will help flush you out.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/02/2011 17:57

Protein protein protein! It will fill you up for longer and your skin will be shit if you don't have enough.

Just popping in before dinner, I'm starving as per.

Dawg is adorable, I think even DH is coming around to him Grin

I got a bit Blush about beating the protein drum so thanks for that Bitter Grin

Nemo went for a sleep at 5pm. Buggeration.

DD is having pasta. I'm having salad but I want more than that.

Hormental cravings are the pits.
