Sparkle Grin at your 7yr old ninja.

Do tell the hospital tomorrow about the pain, don't hold back with any symptoms, that's what they are there for, - for you to discuss whatever is bothering you Smile Lovely that your DH is being so supportive.

Here's the Yoga reading.

Look to this day:
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence.
The bliss of growth,
The glory of action,
The splendour of achievement
Are but experiences of time.

For yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow is only a vision;
And today well-lived, makes
Yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well therefore to this day.

I decided the farewell one was a bit stark, so have left it for the moment, - but will happily put it up if anyone wants it.

Cakes - poor DDGrin

I remember when DS was about 5 he came home outraged and told me 'Mrs R made me sit on the naughty square, can you go in and tell her she's not to do it again?' Grin

Someone has scraped and dented our car while it was parked, and just driven off.Angry DH discovered it lunch time, so thinks it maybe someone in the car park at work, he's asked them to check the CCTV to see if it's been recorded.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/11/2010 13:43

what a lovely poem KK
Loads of good thoughts for you tomorrow Sparkle- tell them everything,as KK says.
Grin at your ninja and Smile @ kind and thoughtful dh.

Someone did that to dh's car a few weeks ago. It really does make you Angry doesn't it? As someone who has dented a few parked cars herself in her time Blush (one quite recently) - I could NEVER not own up!!! Hope your dh finds the culprit

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/11/2010 15:06

Hello everyone, no I'm not a name changer, I often read these threads but don't post on them as then you'd all know I was a stalker Wink RWU I'm sure I would remember you if only I knew who you used to be!
Me and the kids are doing very well, very hard to believe that Steve died 29 months ago.
For those of you not on my facebook or who may have missed it, I have a new man in my life Grin
Good luck to everyone going throu cancer currently or waiting on results or even out the other side.
I have a mate who has been DX with a brain tumour but thankfully not the fatal type that steve had.

Cakesandale · 18/11/2010 16:12

OnlyJoking - hi again. It's great to see you here and know that you are here out of interest rather than necessity. I did not know about Steve so I am sorry to hear about that awful time for you, but very glad that life is moving on positively for you all. And a new man. Woohoo! Not sure whether you'd prefer fun or commitment at this point, but whichever it is, I hope you get it.

My fax machine has just randomly sprung to life with an offer of 56 x 24 kg bags of rock salt for £370, delivery free. As I am a freelance copywriter it's an offer i shall probably pass on Confused

reallywoundup · 18/11/2010 16:15

i bet we'd all be surprised to see how many people lurk around here- bet it's more than you think! I'm fairly sure a couple of local mn'ers check up on me from time to time iyswim!

oj- not sure who i was at the time, but you posted some lovely stuff when i was diagnosed as terminally ill, my mind was in a spin and you put some clarity in there for me and gave me some lovely ideas about making memories for the dc's! Glad you only lurk iyswim, and i've read all about the new dp and how great he is... brilliant! so pleased for you.

to cars being bumped, i have a tale to tell about my newly tyred beast... but i have to go and cook so will return and tell all!

KurriKurri · 18/11/2010 16:32

OJ - great to hear you are well, and that life is being good to you Smile - I am sorry to hear about your friend though, and hope he/she makes good progress.

It's great to think people lurk, and if anyone is out there wondering whether to post - please do jump in - we are a nice bunch(well I am a bit odd obviously but everyone else is excellent Grin).

Yes - car is aggravating it's not something that needs to be urgently dealt with, but I would never damage something and not own up either - and it's the sort of dent that the driver must have felt when they did it. Sorry to hear you are having car probs. too RWU

KurriKurri · 18/11/2010 16:42

Look - we've got a bear smiley Bear

just type in 'bear' Smile

reallywoundup · 18/11/2010 16:58

onlyjoking9329 · 18/11/2010 17:21

I do like to keep up with what's happening with regards to cancer and I keep an eye out on MN for anyone that I might be able to help in some way.
As regards new relationship, well he is pretty amazing, he's taken on a widow and three kids with autism and he's still thinking he got lucky!
He did his nurse training with one of my mates, he is very gentle by nature and very supportive too, he has two children who live with him so it's a bit of a juggle, but we all get on amazingly well, Steve would've loved Tom of that I'm sure.
Did I mention that we are engaged? Grin it's been a whirlwind, he asked me to marry him after 6 weeks and that was a year ago.
I'm still involved with Macmillan and do what I can to support them and their work, Debs our mac nurse wants to do some work with me on dealing with death and autism as we both know there is nothing already available, will see how it goes.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/11/2010 18:07

hey congratulations OJ - brilliant news. And the work dealing with death/autism sounds good too- am sure you have so much to offer.

Have just finished a picture which was taking me ages to get round to,so bit of a relief- now must design my Christmas card..

How fab. Not sure why it's here, but I like it.

Double woo hoo! OJ. Tom sounds great. Good for you - and good on you for keeping up with MacMillan. Well done for taking on the death and autism thing, I bet you'll make a huge difference.

KurriKurri · 18/11/2010 18:37

Congratulations OJ - Tom sounds a lovely chap Smile And well done on your work with Macmillan - they are a brilliant organization .

SparkleRainbow · 18/11/2010 18:45

smee · 18/11/2010 19:00

Well I can't - what are those bear things?! Am feeling inadequate (sob!)

RWU, I skim read your post as 'I have a tale to tell about my newly tyred breast'.. Grin

Way too much to catch up on here - though hello to OnlyJoking. I don't know you at all, but you most definitely deserve your new man, Tom. He sounds wondrous.

Sparkle, our DS's would most definitely get on. Mine named our cat Ninja. He (not the cat!) has just run past me in a wetsuit and a fez. Haven't a clue why, but it passes for normal in our house. Just running in to wish you well with scans tomorrow though. Remember our prescription of a chilled bottle of something medicinal for when you get home.

Will catch up more tomorrow when I have more time. Have a good evening everybody.

KurriKurri · 18/11/2010 19:00

Lots of luck and love for tomorrow Sparkle - will be thinking of you SmileBear

sandripples · 18/11/2010 20:04

Oh its tricky keeping up with all the posts when I'm at work - hi everyone.

Nice to meet you OJ and its indeed inspiring to read how you have coped and are giving back to others from your experience. Great about your new man!

Trying out Bear to see if it works! How did anyone discover him/her I wonder.

Sparkle - will think of you tomorrow. Good luck.

All - I really like the poetry. Do you know the Gaelic blessing? We have had this at a couple of family funerals. I also like 'Crossing the Bar'. If you don't know them I'll type them tomorrow - too tired today after work. But I did some useful things today so felt better. I haD BEEN THINKING EVERYTHING HAD GONE ON FINE WITHOUT ME BUT i FELT i HELPED TODAY! OOps sorry about capitals.

My DS and I made a butterscotch sauce this evening to dip pieces of fruit in - yum. (Just trying to keep up with the cakes stories on here)

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/11/2010 22:04

oh yes, the Gaelic Blessing is nice- was at my uncle's funeral- and Crossing the Bar is Tennyson- did him for O level - Sunset and evening star etc...
Good luck again for tomorrow sparkles x

G'luck sparkles!

Doh! Have just realised the bear is because of the pom bear story on a different thread. God, I'm slow on the uptake.

So - Pom bear, anyone? Bear Grin

I LOVE the idea of smee's ds in a wetsuit and a fez Grin How fab. Now that's what I call dressing up.

SparkleRainbow · 19/11/2010 10:11

Ds spent yesterday evening as a ninja Harry Potter......don't ask Grin, I think they would get on brilliantly smee Grin

Leaving for the hospital in a minute, and taking all your good wishes with me.
