That's the trouble too - seperation anxiety. He'll onlt stay with me or MrM and hates to be even picked up by anyone else.

I really appreciate your offers of help. What time shall I bring him later for DP? What time does he don his magic 'Super Dad' cape? [hgrin]

Joking apart, thank you Brian. I know that you would all help if you could.

I just need a day or two of no puking so that I can get him back on track. xx

JK on ITV2 right now has a guy with a huge tattoo on his head of a Union Jack. BNP fan??

BitterAndTwistedGoreDodger · 20/10/2010 15:52

It's quiet on here today.

I am off to Tesco to stock up on smoothies and soup. As once again it is 4 o'clock and I am yet to eat today. Hmm

5 Bean hidden veg chilli with crusty bread for dinner.

I have a headache.

desiretochange · 20/10/2010 15:54

Not surprised you have a headache Bitter, if I didn't eat before 4 o'clock I would end up with a headache that I am sure I would convince myself that it must be a brain tumour and I never, ever, ever exaggerate :) Eat woman Eat!!

BitterAndTwistedGoreDodger · 20/10/2010 15:57

It's OK desire, I know it's not a brain tumour! Grin

We will be eating in an hour so I will hold on until then. I'd rather wait and have something nutritious than have a slice of toast then not want dinner, iyswim.

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 20/10/2010 16:02

Bitter!!!!!! We have had this discussion before!!!

You must eat before 4pm. Even just a yoghurt, apple, slice of toast, crisps! ANYTHING!!

You'll waste away at this rate, you're tiny as it is!

ThePumpkinofDoomandTotalChaos · 20/10/2010 16:16

so you're are not at all prone to exaggerating, desire - think you will get on well with Brian, with her ebola cold and all Wink

mousey - I don't have direct experience of respite/SS etc (indirect experience with SS - called with permission of a stressed friend has been distinctly uninspiring...). But I have enough experience of SN world of my own and via the ladies on the SN board, to know that sadly those who shout most are most likely to get help, and that persevering past the first refusal can often be needed. I get the impression (possibly wrongly) that it isn't your style to seek out other parents to young children with special needs/disabiltites - which is fair enough - BUT I think it can be v. useful to have some contact with any remotely appropriate local support group to get the feel for what people usually can get, and how to work the local system (not in a bad way, but so that you don't reinvent the wheel iyswim). I appreciate that the MN SN board is chockful of ASD or language delay parents; so you don't feel much common ground in terms of Nemo's issues - BUT - there are some v. fiery ladies on there who never take no for an answer who could help you get more support. And of course there are other forums with a different balance of SN - such as special kids in the UK (unfortunately not all their boards are free now Confused).

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 20/10/2010 16:23

Thanks TC. And yep, you're right re the meeting up with others parents of children with SN.

Nemo's nurse has just called me. I'd asked her about local SaLT for him as we'd not heard for a while and she is going to chase up to woman who is going to be Nemo's.

Anyway, she said there may be a local group for children with severe sensory feeding disorder, same as Nemo and that she'd look into it.

I'm just not great with new faces/places and journeys!!! As you all know! [hgrin]

But let's see what comes through. This is about Nemo, not my needs. Thanks for thinking of me.

Where is WIF by the way?

ThePumpkinofDoomandTotalChaos · 20/10/2010 16:28

don't underestimate your needs as a carer Mousey. It's difficult, unglamourous, underrated by society as being a natural part of women's work, mothering etc. It's a bit like the oxygen mask on the aircraft analogy - sometimes you need to look after yourself first to look after others.

TheMittzressOfMystery · 20/10/2010 16:43

Yes, Brian's Ebollocksa cold will be the stuff of legends eh? [hwink]
