still watching jk. any of you know the answer to this question? The older bloke on there (who does a fab 'eastern european' rant at one point - priceless) says hes better off on benefits than working. That can't be true can it?

And a lady on there has 6 children (they went for extreme cases obviously) says she gets £1700 disposal each month, £1700 after bills, housing, council tax has been paid. That can't be right can it? DP earns a lot less than that after tax.

I feel desperately sad for all of them (except twatty bloke), if a job is less money you can see why you wouldn't do it. I just can't believe a job would pay less than benefits, thats mad.

Single mothers/fathers its totally different for obviously as you've got horrendous childcare costs.

Mouseface · 24/09/2010 11:52

i meant 'priceless' as iin because he's such a twat, not priceless that he's racist.

Anyone who watches it at 1.30 and picks out the excellent stereotype quite near the beginning, wins.... err nothing. But see if you spot it!!!

saf - sounds like great plan, what you going to watch?

BrianAndHisBalls · 24/09/2010 11:55

double if you're hearing voices and you're not drunk like normal you should really see a doctor poppet Grin

Mouseface · 24/09/2010 12:06

I X posted with you all.

Brian - we are better off on tax credits/DLA because Nemo is disabled and I am his full time carer.

I get DLA for myself too due to my mobility issues.

If I went to work we'd be worse off becuase MrM is self employed.

Many people are better off not working compared to what they would earn/pay out in childcare fees if they worked.

Ridiculous but true. Well, unitl they start fucking about with Tax Credits........

I'm shitting myself over that! No idea what will happen if they take money off us. Sad

OP posts:
BrianAndHisBalls · 24/09/2010 12:14

bloody hell mouse, cross fingers they'll leave tax credits alone. When does it come out what they're planning?

What does MrM do?

I knew you might be better off if say a carer or disabled (and rightly so) but this bloke was single with grown up kids. Weird. Also thought you might be if you had childcare costs (I was, because tax credits covered nursery fees nearly as I was lone parent when split up with exh), but thought if you were young/no dependents/no disability you'd always be better off working.

There's a guy at the end I could have cried for, he goes to a job interview and hes just soooo terrible as is his cv. But hes obviously had no support from his family with either preparing for interviews or doing cvs, its really sad. Any of us could spend say half an hour with him and help him immensely with his cv Sad

My solution - up the minimum wage? No, I have no idea where the cash is going to come from but hopefully that would be an encouragement? I know, we could stop sendig saf oap boxes and use that money to up min wage Grin

i was just smugly thinking how well mole was doing with eating today (loads) and was giving her water from a cup. She seemed to really like it so I kept giving it to her everytime she opened her mouth.

She turned round, smiled, and vomed everything she has eaten all day all over the new rug. My living room smells of sick.

Can I get away with pretending I haven't noticed the (miles of) sick on the rug until dp gets back at 2pm? Grin

Brian - no idea when they are going to tell us about changes. Fucking government.

MrM runs his own recruitment biz. Has for 9/10 years.

I get £53 a week to care for Nemo 24/7.

My DLA will stop in Feb or be reduced cos I'm getting better.

Tax Credits is the one we rely on.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 24/09/2010 12:57

Washing is on, I am showered and dressed.

I have eaten a monster munch sandwich as it's the first thing I've fancied in days. Blush

Can anyone else smell sick? Grin

Mouseface · 24/09/2010 13:00

Brian - poor Mole. Get her back to the docs woman!!!! Check what other meds she can have.
