Afternoon. School shoes purchased, car seat ordered, bank account emptied.

Saf, don't leave me! Although I do understand if you hate the area. I'm being selfish, travel if that's what will make the two of you happy.

I do think the holidays have something to do with it, I have been having my own 'what the hell have I done with my life' moment as you know.

We were this close to buying two baby guinea pigs while we were out, but I came to my senses in time.

we are attempting to paint the living room (still). DD thinks it helps by her asking 'is it finished yet' every 3 minutes.

what fresh hell is this, think I? I used to be a size 8. And free and single and women used to undo my tops in clubs because I was so hot goddamit. And I wore thigh high pvc black boots and not much else out and it was fucking briliant.

Now I catch sight of me in shop mirrors and I see a defeated 50 year old dumpy drudge of a thing.

SAF - If you can travel and its what you want, do it. When they get into school as you know its not easy.

Bitter - why is porn dog porn dog? I forgot to ask.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 29/08/2010 15:55

Hang on Fluff, I'll see if I can load the dog porn pics back on my FB and it will all become clear.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 29/08/2010 16:04

Done.

prime- exactly. i was me, now i am my mother, and a particularly haggard version of my mother (who looked 60 when we were young but now weirdly looks 40 that we're grown up Grin). i lost myself when i got ill with pregnancy i think became a bit reclusive and put on too much weight.

this will sound weird but i look at dd and think 'shes so pretty and all long limbed and gorgeous and young, 'this is her time now.' Then I think, hang on, it'll be her time when shes 16, its still my time for the next 9 years at least. Does that sound weird? Blush

will start changing it. first step - hair on friday should make me feel better. second step - losing some weight Grin

bitter - will check it out now.

no, I like that Double Smile

Think I retreated into 'middle age' at 33 because of being ill. Got used to saying no to things, going out mainly. Will now start saying yes again. (not to the bum sex thank you dp) Grin

"And remember, if self catering to Mum means eating out, then give her a break from the cooking and treat her to the great, tasty food available at our many restaurants and snack bars!"

Thought Id share the above with you ^ was looking at beaches near here for tomorrow and came across that gem. Almost rivals 'mums gone to Iceland' Hmm

TotalChaos · 29/08/2010 18:46

aaargh - "mum" - like we are one amorphous mass of nappy changing and chore doing robots!

fluffy - once hair is done, get some nice comfortable flattering smartish clothes and if you are a make up person, do make up. throw off the inner dr.

saf - maybe prime is right about travelling, you nearly went for it earlier in the year, maybe build up to doing egypt again?

ok, shrugs, didn't meant to be patronising but evidently got it wrong. so - you want to stay put, but try and improve things in your current location? is public transport OK round your way?

TotalChaos · 29/08/2010 19:31

saf - sorry - I am sticking my foot further into my mouth with the practical suggestions - am a bit lacking in the emotional intelligence - must be rotten to feel stuck in a situation - hope that a way forward becomes clear to you soon.

i must admit i dont like going on holiday as its 'same shit more inconvenient location' Grin no idea what the relevance of that was either Hmm

im just jealous saf - i have no idea what its like to be free to just up and 'poof'! im sure its not as easy as that, but i went from school to uni from uni to grad job to buying house etc etc so have always had 'things' tying me down. i'm sure i could have rented our place out or put everything into storage but once i was on the job circuit i felt like i couldnt get off because i lived up to my means iyswim.

exh's family are totally different - his brother is always teaching in colombia or backpacking round australia, the sister teaches diving in thailand and turkey.

im just not sure what i want. my lifestyle isnt rock and roll at the moment but im not sure that i want it to be. Confused

right, off to bed to watch crime, mole has just gone to sleep with no crying and no waking up from her bed screaming Shock

sweet dreams x

saf - its just because you went to egypt before and were talking of going again, so i always assumed that you had flexibility over work/house. I think i did ask months and months ago something about how come you can just go, won't you lose your house, type thing, but it was when you were talking about going last time.

also i think before they hit 4.5 you're a bit freer (health problems not withstanding).

why are you not proud of having health problems? its not your fault if you have health issues surely Confused
