DD came back from Leeds last year grubby but with nothing horrific having been thrown at her. A colleague's DD is going this year, but only because a schoolfriend lives near by and she can go for showers everyday!

Lobster she would have been very upset if she'd chosen Boardmasters again this year!

raspberryrippleicecream · 21/08/2019 21:29

I think there's a few of us with DC with GCSE results tomorrow - good luck everyone

Bronzegate · 21/08/2019 21:31

Good luck to any DCs awaiting GCSE results tomorrow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/08/2019 21:54

Yes good luck!! We are very anxious here! No idea how DD2 has done. Hoping I sleep tonight as had the weirdest dreams last night!

TapasForTwo · 21/08/2019 22:17

Good luck to the GCSE students and parents.

HesMyLobster · 21/08/2019 23:13

Yikes! Good luck to all waiting for GCSEs, hope you all manage some sleep tonight.

@raspberryrippleicecream that's a very good point!

marmiteloversunite · 22/08/2019 20:15

Proud mum here. DD2 passed all of her GCSEs. Highest mark was an8 for Drama, lowest, 5 for maths. All the rest 6/7s. I am so relieved and happy for her. She finds exams hard and has had to cope with losing her Grandad, her big sis going to uni and my stupid cancer!!

I know this is not The GCSE thread but nice to share happy news with friends on here.

Hope everyone else expecting results today did well!

TapasForTwo · 22/08/2019 20:23

That's fabulous news marmite. It's lovely to have something to celebrate after the year you have had.

Congratulations on GCSE results.

raspberryrippleicecream · 22/08/2019 21:09

Brilliant news Marmite. DS2 really pleased with his results too.

Knotaknitter · 22/08/2019 21:48

Marmite that's lovely news, thank you for sharing.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/08/2019 22:15

I'm so pleased Marmite. An 8 for drama?! that takes serious talent and hard work.

marmite that's great news! Well done to her.

Bronzegate · 22/08/2019 22:18

Well done to your DS raspberry

ShanghaiDiva · 23/08/2019 03:03

Well done to Marmite and Raspberry's DCs!
Dd went back to school last week and morning swimming starts next week so back to the 5.30 am starts two days per week and she is terrible at getting up.
Ds is home on 1st September for three weeks and is back to tutoring maths and biology with the goal of buying a play station when he is back at university. Hard to believe that he will shortly starting year two.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/08/2019 09:41

I missed that raspberry. Well done to your ds! :)

Thank you everyone! Just enjoying the rest of the holidays now.

marmiteloversunite · 23/08/2019 18:16

DD1 is up in Edinburgh performing at the fringe with her uni acapella group. She is having a great time.
Amazing what they can do with societies at uni.

She went to see a play based on Alice in Wonderland. Every day one of the performers start getting drunk 4 hours before the show. She said it was very funny. She's off to a hypnosis show tonight.

TapasForTwo · 23/08/2019 22:28

DD was in Edinburgh last week. She saw Eddie Izzard walking around Edinburgh. She spent this morning checking wristbands at Leeds Festival.

UrsulaPandress · 23/08/2019 22:55

Was Eddie having a girl day or a boy day?

TapasForTwo · 23/08/2019 22:59

Lipstick and heels, so a girl day.

UrsulaPandress · 24/08/2019 20:59

Tosser.

UrsulaPandress · 27/08/2019 17:22

I’m going to sound like a right cow so apologies if I upset anyone.

Just reading on ‘that’ fb page about a girl who is off to University to study for a degree in musical theatre and cabaret performance. So basically dance.

Why would someone want to do that and incur all that debt when they could be dancing and earning at the same time? A dancer’s career is short as it is without taking three years out of it.

Or is it me?
