Just noticed we were running out of thread!

I can hear DD pacing in her room. She has convinced herself the email will arrive at 7.30. Hmm

inchyrablue · 17/08/2017 07:54

She wasn't far wrong! What a relief.

Icouldbeknitting · 17/08/2017 07:56

DS is asleep. I am restraining myself and not ringing my niece. If it's gone fantastically well she may be considering adjustment, if it's gone the other way she'll not want to speak to me.

We are going out for breakfast first.

raspberryrippleicecream · 17/08/2017 07:59

Good news Inchy? Congratulations.

DD was allowed to collect from 7.30 but doesn't want to go until about 10.00.

inchyrablue · 17/08/2017 08:18

Hard to tell how good, because only maths has a score. But as good as she needs. All options still open!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/08/2017 08:25

Good stuff Inchy - well done to her!!

Now we just have the wait for school predictions. She thinks it may be into week two before they tell them.

UrsulaPandress · 17/08/2017 09:01

Mail at 7.30! Ours doesn't arrive until late morning.

Waiting for the text.

TheSecondOfHerName · 17/08/2017 09:17

I've said on here before that DS1 is capable of getting anything from an A to an E, depending on which way the wind is blowing. You probably thought that was hyperbole.

He did one AS, made up of two equally weighted papers. He got an A in Paper 1 and an E in Paper 2. Grin

Overall grade is C, which he (and I) are pleased with, especially as this is one of the subjects he started half a term late.

This means his school will submit predicted grades to UCAS of BBC. One happy boy. We'll be going out to lunch to celebrate.

Hope everyone gets what they need / are hoping for.

chocolateworshipper · 17/08/2017 09:19

Well done Inchy

Fantastic news second

Good luck everyone!

UrsulaPandress · 17/08/2017 09:22

DD got a D in her AS.

It's just as well she is dropping it.

She will be thoroughly fed up though.

Sigh.

HesMyLobster · 17/08/2017 09:32

Brilliant news Inchy and Second Grin

Currently cursing DD's school for not emailing results - waiting until after 10 is agonising!
DD has been pacing for an hour already!

inchyrablue · 17/08/2017 09:42

I wasn't sure that the email was a good idea, after hearing of friends DDs waiting till mid afternoon for theirs last year. So glad it is out of the way and she's smiling.

HesMyLobster · 17/08/2017 09:49

Sorry your dd isn't happy Ursula.
Like you said, at least she'd already made the decision to drop that one.

Good Luck and fingers crossed for everyone still waiting.

Icouldbeknitting · 17/08/2017 09:54

It is ten to ten and DS is just getting out of bed. It's taken him an hour from when I went in to remind him that we were going out for breakfast. Shower, hair, breakfast - I hope that there's still someone there when we get to college. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

*TheSecond^ that is really good to hear after all he's gone through to get this far.

Ursula at least it was in the one she had already decided to drop.

lashingsofgingerbeer · 17/08/2017 10:01

Good luck to everyone for results today and well done to those who know already. This is torturous not knowing until our return - why can't our school e-mail them???!

HesMyLobster · 17/08/2017 10:34

Just had the phone call!
She's happy 😊

inchyrablue · 17/08/2017 10:37

Great news Lobster!

chocolateworshipper · 17/08/2017 10:37

Excellent news lobster

PandaG · 17/08/2017 10:40

DS just gone to school to collect, we live 5 mins away and Y12 allowed in at 10.30 after the Y 13s. I am on edge....
Well done to all those happy, hope your DD is OK Ursula.

PandaG · 17/08/2017 10:55

4 As! Two papers with full marks. Phew!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/08/2017 11:02

Sorry about your dd Ursula. I hope she was happy with the rest.

Dd is very happy with her results. Enough for the next step. Relieved!

Brilliant Panda and Kitten Grin

MsAwesomeDragon · 17/08/2017 11:21

You'd fallen off my tio. We're away on holiday atm, except dd1 who stayed at home at her own request, so I've just heard her results by text. She only had maths and FM to collect, and got A in every module, so she's a happy bunny :). Her friends are mostly in y13, and they have all got into either their first choice our insurance choice of uni, so they're all hanging out together to celebrate.

Congratulations to everybody who's got the results they needed/wanted. 🍾

Commiserations to anyone with a lower result than they wanted, even if they have already decided to drop that subject, it's still a disappointment.

chocolateworshipper · 17/08/2017 11:26

Fantastic news Panda, kitten and MsAD

DD passed her AS ! Was completely sure she had failed, but she didn't. She still won't continue with it into Y13, but it's a few more UCAS points to go with her Distinction*'s
