Just noticed we were running out of thread!

All the Y12s at DS1's school will receive their results via their school email address. DS1 told me today that the school changed the email log ins at the end of term, and he doesn't know the new one. We're currently abroad, so no chance of going in to school (after the Y13s have received their results) to ask.

chocolateworshipper · 16/08/2017 17:40

cats - have you checked the college's website?

DD's college updated their website a couple of days ago with details for collecting results

HesMyLobster · 16/08/2017 17:47

DD had an email at the end of term saying check the website for details of results days.
Just had a look and it is as we guessed - open to year 13 from 8am, year 12 from 10am.

catslife · 16/08/2017 18:30

I have checked the website (again) for updates and the time given is 11.15am. There is an earlier time on Twitter / FB but am assuming that this is for Y13s.
Sadly there is also an update on the website that a Y13 student has died from meningitis, which puts all the worries about results into perspective.

chocolateworshipper · 16/08/2017 18:52

Oh no cats - that's awful. You are absolutely right about it putting things in perspective Sad

TheSecondOfHerName · 16/08/2017 19:19

Oh no catslife how horribly sad.

inchyrablue · 16/08/2017 19:21

Oh cats how sad. That's a stark reminder of how unimportant this is in the end.

I just came on to gossip and now feel awful, but will anyway. The sixth form college some of DDs friends have gone to accidentally released results this morning! When I heard earlier I assumed it was teen hysteria, but it was reported in the Stsndard this evening. I can't decide what is worse, knowing results before ucas track is up and running (if your results may not be enough) or your friends knowing when you don't! It is a very large sixth form and only 30ish got their results, but still shocking.

UrsulaPandress · 16/08/2017 19:24

The horse has lost a shoe. That seems more important than AS results.

UrsulaPandress · 16/08/2017 19:24

Good grief Cats. How bloody awful.

Icouldbeknitting · 16/08/2017 19:57

We think there's nothing worse at this age than bombing exams but of course there are things that are much, much worse. I am so glad I only have trivial things to fret about.

raspberryrippleicecream · 16/08/2017 20:15

I think all our DC should have been offered the MenACWY (think it's called that) at school. I had to push for DS1 to get his before going to uni last year, our GP practice said he was supposed to get it when he went to uni.

How sad Cats. It does put things in perspective.

DD has made the mistake of spending the afternoon with friends and of looking at grade boundaries.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2017 21:10

you'd all fallen off my tio.

OP posts:
UrsulaPandress · 16/08/2017 21:17

See. It's not just me.

It's pants these days.

Littledrummergirl · 16/08/2017 21:25

Cats that's really sad.

Ds1 has one as result tomorrow which should be emailed to him. I've asked him to let me know. He will be at work experience though so who knows what time he will read it. He still has to start his ps.

Our dc should have all had the acwy around year 11. Gp surgeries are mopping up previous age groups and any who may have missed out. If yours hasn't had it contact your GP surgery. Where I work there is no need to see a gp, the nurse will just do it in a routine appointment.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2017 21:25

How awful cats :(

Ursula :)

dd is stressing about everything tonight, even which bag to take. I've been having a very difficult time recently (again) so stress in this house is extreme. Her friends seem to be arranging to meet up earlier and earlier tomorrow. I think that at this rate they'll have to meet in a club over night

I love that dd has bought sweets to console upset friends with. 10am for them. I'll be learning by text. oh help. I now wish her aspirations weren't so ridiculously high.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2017 21:27

even now this thread isn't on tio. grrr.

OP posts:
chocolateworshipper · 16/08/2017 21:32

Oi MNHQ - sort out kitten's TIO. If she can't find this thread, she won't be around to hold our hands when it's time for a new thread - and we'll all be flapping around - lost, alone and scared.

TheSecondOfHerName · 16/08/2017 21:35

DS1 had the MenACWY. I know this because it took three attempts. He has a needle phobia, so the school nursing team kindly offered to go in on an additional day to do his individually. When they did, he had a temperature and they had to postpone it. He finally had it on the third attempt.

UrsulaPandress · 16/08/2017 21:38

I think DD had the MenACWY. I think it was discussed on one of our much earlier threads.

DD is staying at her boyfriend's house and going in at 9. She is anticipating a C in her Biology AS.

inchyrablue · 16/08/2017 22:03

DD definitely had the vaccination in school. I suppose it may take some time to mop them all up, and guess that it may still not completely prevent, perhaps lessen.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2017 22:08

Grin chocolate! I think we will need a new thread in September!

dd had her jab for sure.

Think we are on our seventh or eighth big bang episode this evening.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/08/2017 22:24

solution. I'm leaving a tab open just for this thread.

OP posts:
inchyrablue · 16/08/2017 23:42

Back to back Big Bang would be perfect for DD. I might line some up to snuggle on the sofa with her, should it all go pear shaped tomorrow. I don't expect it to, but I'd love to do that with her!

HesMyLobster · 17/08/2017 00:51

Cats how awful, certainly puts everything else into perspective. Just devastating.

DD is going in at 10 ish then going into town for lunch so I'll be anxiously awaiting a text.

She will be getting Maths and English results, but is most worried about EPQ result - I think because of the sheer amount of time, effort, blood, sweat and tears that went into it!
She says she's hoping for at least a B in all 3, at this point I have no idea whether that's realistic or not Confused

Goodnight all, hope to see lots of happy updates tomorrow Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/08/2017 06:27

good luck to everyone this morning!!! eep!
