I had yr11 and yr 13 last year. Littledrummergirl and others I will add Cake and Chocolate.

TheSecondOfHerName · 19/08/2017 14:51

Next summer will not be fun (one in Y13 & one in Y11) but summer 2020 will be worse (one in Y13 and two in Y11)

raspberryrippleicecream · 19/08/2017 15:27

I survived the Y11/13 last year. It just seemed to go on forever! Definitely Cake required.

Second I have no words!!!!!!

HesMyLobster · 19/08/2017 16:54

I'll have a y11 and y13 this year too Confused GCSE 2018 thread in secondary ed if anybody else wants to join.

Second Shock perhaps start planning a month long holiday for May/June 2020 . . !

HesMyLobster · 19/08/2017 17:01

Those whose TIO isn't working, are you on desktop, mobile site or app?
Just wondering if it makes a difference.
Mine are showing on the App but not on the mobile site.

shineyshoes definitely keep burying your head about that year, that's going to be hell on earth a year to remember. My dd2 will be doing her GCSEs that year too, maybe we'll share another thread then.

Thanks for the new thread kitten.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/08/2017 17:44

Knitting, it could also be that they got 90 ums, which is sort of an a*

OP posts:
MsAwesomeDragon · 19/08/2017 17:49

knitting, we'd predict someone with 90 ums an A, like kitten said. Or maybe he's done a full A level already, we do that with our further maths class, they do maths A level in y12, then FM A level in y13. So there are 5 pupils at my school who do actually have an A, because they've done a whole A level rather than all AS.

Icouldbeknitting · 19/08/2017 18:33

MsAwesomeDragon that could very well be it. I knew someone would have an answer. He is a very high achiever and also doing maths and FM. He is not a bragger or a truth stretcher, I've known him since he was four and all you get from him is the plain unvarnished truth.

DS and I have managed to talk about starting the PS today which is a step in the right direction.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/08/2017 18:40

"Those whose TIO isn't working, are you on desktop, mobile site or app?"

It doesn't work on my desktop or my mobile.

voilets · 19/08/2017 20:39

Want to join in to - and add to new thread when ready.

Have a DD going into Yr 13 and a DS going into year 3 of a degree - sort of final but he does a MEng so 4 years! Will need to be very strong for them as they both get very stressed near exams. I feelexhausted thinking about it.

We went for a campus tour of Warwick today - DD liked very much. Seen enough unis now - hard work to do.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/08/2017 20:51

Need to start again with unis after next weeks' UKCAT test. Warwick is nice isn't it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/08/2017 21:20

dd really likes Warwick :)

MsAwesomeDragon is it possible to achieve A* with 89 average in C3 & C4?

MsAwesomeDragon · 19/08/2017 23:49

I don't think so inchy, I think it's a 90+ average for C3 and C4. It's definitely that for edexcel, but other exam boards might have slightly different requirements.

inchyrablue · 20/08/2017 00:08

Thank you.

raspberryrippleicecream · 20/08/2017 10:20

DD will do a self guided tour of Warwick on their way back from Exeter.

I struggle with it as my sister didn't particularly enjoy her 3 years there and I have a friend who transferred after a year. Ultimately it's up to her though.

TheSecondOfHerName · 20/08/2017 10:43

Is anyone else's child (young adult) going to Reading later this week?

voilets · 20/08/2017 11:57

What did they not like about Warwick raspberry?

inchyrablue · 20/08/2017 17:52

Gah, I was looking at the wrong numbers. She hasn't done those yet! Blush.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/08/2017 18:18

oops inchy! Grin

It's really interesting how one persons love is another ones hate.
I think dd may have got things down to her final 5 unis. I hope so, because to be honest, I think she has pretty much run out of places to reject Confused So many places that have really good reputations for all sorts of reasons were not right in one way or another.

She's ready to go back to college now. Think she's wanting to get on with things.

OP posts:
inchyrablue · 20/08/2017 20:25

That's funny. DD just said she wished they could go back tomorrow and "bank" the rest of the holidays to use later for revision.

Littledrummergirl · 20/08/2017 20:56

Thanks Japonica! I'll make sure to stock up. Grin
Ds1 has a week at home with very little planned so I suspect he will be hitting the books.
They are having an enforced family day this week though, I'm determined that we will all have some time together.
