What time do you usually have your Sunday roast

Just that really!

I usually do mine around 18:00. I wonder if having it at lunch time would be better as then I have time to relax in the afternoon, not getting kids ready for bed etc ready for school the next day!

19.30 ish, I think about 18.30 when I had kids. .
I like my dinner at dinner time, not soon after breakfast. I still relax in the afternoon !

2/3pm so one massive satisfying main meal then maybe toast or just dessert later. Pjs earliest opportunity!

I normally do mine about 3ish I like to get things ready for monday in the morning then after lunch can loll about for test of day and just chill.
I'm not normally hungry for rest of day as I tend to do big meals but if hungry cheese and crackers

Do people still have a Sunday roast every week? I thought this was a pre 21st century ritual. Most people I know only ever have a roast on a special occasion. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter, maybe one or two other occasions in the year, like if someone's coming around who you only see 2 or 3 times a year, or Mothers Day, Fathers day or Valentines Day..

I couldn't be faffed with this every week.

It's our favourite meal of the week! If we can't do it on a Sunday we try to squeeze in a mini roast in the week.

The earlier the better for us as we usually pop out for a drink late afternoon.

About 6pm if we have one

4pm.

We have it 1.30-2pm and then we settle down and watch a film in the afternoon. We have a light tea then

Around 6.

Around 5pm.

Around 2pm so I’m not spending the evening clearing it up. Potter around in the morning making it. Loll about in the afternoon digesting it.

6.00 so I can go out in the daytime.

Yeah loads of people do.

We have one every Sunday.

Pancakes for brunch at 10/11, and roast at 4.

I think it's very much an English thing. I am Scottish and have never had a Sunday roast in my life!

What never ? Do you go rogue and not have a "Sunday dinner"

I am Scottish and I do have a Sunday roast 3 times a month and we have it 5.30/6pm.

If we were to have a Sunday roast, which we do only rarely, it would be at around 7pm. That's normal dinner time for us, all adults in the house these days.

I’m Scottish and probably have one a month, at 7pm but that’s when we normally eat dinner.
Quite a few local restaurants do a Sunday roast too and if it’s just DH and I we occasionally book a table at lunchtime then share a bottle of wine and wander home.

Thanksgiving?

I prefer to do it lunchtime as it feels like a huge rush on a Sunday evening when we've then got to clean up, get kids bathed and hair washed and in bed and everything sorted for the week. But on reality it depends on what we're doing that day, sometimes I do it on a Saturday 😲

I like to do it as a late lunch. With a bottle of red. Then a film with the rest of the wine.

I can then do washing up and clean kitchen before early evening so can go to bed.

But I'm both chef and pot washer so we do it on my schedule anyway!

I hate cooking and it's just me in the house so nope, no Sunday dinners here!

4ish and then just a bit of a snack later on

Fair, if it was just me I wouldn't be roasting a chicken either.
