I love to make soup! My favourite is apple & parsnip; slighty spicy with cumin and turmeric, but the sweetness of the apple really balances the tartness of the parsnip 😍 (plus I have apple trees!)

You won't like mine because you're alllllllllll the way over on the sweet spectrum and I'm allllllll the way over on sour. But Greek chicken and lemon soup is the best soup in the world. Avgolemono.

OhDear111 · 05/02/2026 15:27

French onion with cheesy bread slice.

ImFineItsAllFine · 05/02/2026 15:31

Mushroom from the Covent Garden soup recipe book is lovely. I don't normally batch cook it but it's super quick.

patooties · 05/02/2026 15:33

Broccoli and Stilton.
i made a curried parsnip, carrot and lentil recently which was lush.
we make a chicken noodle soup/ pork noodle Chinesey style broth thing after a roast some weeks and that’s pretty good too.

Forgottenmyphone · 05/02/2026 15:35

Favourites with my dc included chicken fajita soup, taco soup, red pepper and pesto, and cauliflower cheese. Unfortunately they won’t eat Thai chicken noodle, which is my favourite. Last week I made ribollita, which is a Tuscan bean soup thickened with bread. It was delish!

ThejustbrothersCarlenaNSoul · 05/02/2026 15:37

Scotch broth.😋

murasaki · 05/02/2026 15:38

Mushroom and tarragon
Leek, potato and bacon
Pea and ham hock
Chicken, but only when I've done a roast so it has homemade stock and actual chicken blended in.

Dragonscaledaisy · 05/02/2026 15:39

Roasted tomato and sweet red pepper with lots of chilli and fresh herbs.

CoastalCalm · 05/02/2026 15:40

Ham and red lentil broth made with grated carrots and chunks of potato - I can (and have) eat that every day for a week and enjoy it every time

Just made a big saucepan this morning. We’ve eaten half of it already. It was meant to last the week. If it lasts till the day will be a miracle!

gototogo · 05/02/2026 15:44

Potato and leek is my go to, usually have the ingredients in the fridge

I've rarely had a soup I didn't like. Two or three years ago we stopped at a Turkish cafe for lunch and had some really good lentil soup. I am making this later and hoping it will be as good. https://cookingwithayeh.com/turkish-lentil-soup/

Butternut squash, roasted with onions, loads of garlic and fresh sage, blended with veg stock.
Soooooo good. And the more garlic the better.
in fact I was planning to make it this weekend with some homemade protein bread.

OctopusSting · 05/02/2026 15:58

Pea and mint. I always have frozen peas in the freezer and mint in the garden so always available and takes 10 mins

Would imagine photos under review. I make it slightly differently to the recipe lazy.
I use chicken thighs or drumsticks boil for 30/45 minutes, add rice I prefer basmati, another 15 minutes. Remove chicken. Then whisk 3 eggs to 2 large lemons and slowly add stock. Chop chicken into soup and eat!

My favourite winter home made soup ever - could also eat it every day! Celery for me instead of potato 😊.
