What are your favourite homemade soups.
I have just batch cooked:
curry parsnip soup
roasted butternut squash soup
celeriac and apple soup.
my favourite of those is curry parsnip soup.

I must try this. Have just looked up the recipe. I like the sound of the Tuscan bean soup too but I’m not a lover of tomato based dishes.I’m really enjoying looking at all the soups and definitely earmarking some to batch cook but first I need to find space in my freezer.

My favourite one that I've made so far is carrot with lentils and cardamom.
Closely followed by French onion.
It can be tricky getting the texture right with soups - would love good mushroom one.

Love this. I cook it slowly in the oven and always add some cognac.

Cajun bean soup - pepper, celery, onion, diced bacon, cannelini beans, tomatoes, Tabasco.

Warm, spicy, comforting in winter. 😊

Caribbean chicken soup using both cock and pumpkin soup seasoning ... Yummy!

Watercress soup ! 2 ingredients plus s and p . The other ingredient is a big blob of double cream . Simmer the large amount of water cress until soft. Add s and p then blend until smooth . Add double cream before serving . Very healthy too .

I love scotch broth the way my grandmother made it...so thick you could tap dance on it! 😁 A bowl of her SB was a meal in itself.

Reminds me of my Grandmother’s pigs trotter soup. Sound grim but it was delicious.

My Granny's tattie soup, turnip and coconut , Scotch broth and proper thick lentil.

That would be a great addition to my low carb diet which is starting to become a little repetitive.

This is one of my favourites 😍

It was good. A bit thinner than I normally make, so another time I would use less water. It also took a lot longer to get the carrots soft than the recipe indicated which was probably because I hadn't diced them fine enough. I added a couple of bayleaves because I always put bay into lentil soup. The lemon juice added in the bowl on serving makes an enormous difference to the flavour (I do this with butternut squash soup as well). I did the olive oil drizzle thing, which was pretty, but I don't have Aleppo pepper so used a little paprika instead. I had splashed out on a jar of the Turkish pepper paste mentioned as optional. Would recommend.

My favourite soup of all is classic chicken broth with finely chopped celery/carrots/leeks plus lentils and pearl barley. Would make it into my top ten meals and I always make it if we've had a roast chicken.

A soupy lentil dhal with a drizzle of tamarind is my current favourite.

My favourites with recipes are:

Butterbean & chorizo,
Chicken noodle

My other favourite has pearl barley, yellow split peas, lentils, chicken, bacon, peppers. A little bit of everything. Delicious. I just chuck handfuls of each into the pot and it's good to go 😋 I'd never admit it to them but it's what an exes mum used to make and it was the nicest thing about them.

Love Greek chicken soup @MrsTerryPratchett whenever I’m getting ill I always make this soup, nothing like a whole boiled chicken. My recipe is from a very old Greek cook book, passed down to me, the chewed top of the book cover was from my budgie when I was 6, I’m 60 now!
