I was in Tesco the other day and there was a family (mum, dad and young DD) and the mum shouted down the aisle to her DD 'I've found your Billy Bear Meat'........

and I thought, what would MN say!!!!

I can only imagine the excitement on the face of the 40 something IT techie who works across from me if I started eating chorizo... he caught a glimpse of my bra & breast the other day (I was taking my cardi off & forgot I had the pin/borrch thing through both vest top & cardi.. he spent the rest of the day pushing his penis down.. I can only imagine he's going through a dry patch at home

I'm loving the list of alternatives up the thread. what was it:

goats cheese
capers
little slivers of hand-smoked prosciutto or bresaola-
a little gorgonzola
home-caught mackerel pate studded with mushrooms

or summat like that. Yeah, all the things kids LOVE.

chipmonkey · 22/05/2008 21:55

I knew a little girl who would ask for ham and pineapple pizza in a pizzeria and then pick all the pineapple off!

southeastastra · 22/05/2008 21:56

i really don't like jamie oliver, so i didn't watch it.

at mps sausage, i love a german sausage

morningpaper · 22/05/2008 21:56

lol wilfsell I thought that too

edam · 22/05/2008 21:56

Oh, that veggie bacon is nice precisely because it's very like Frazzles. Makes a great sarnie. It is the only meat substitute I will touch with a bargepole - I'm veggie, I don't actually want to eat meat!

WilfSell · 22/05/2008 21:57

I'm not sure that's what your DH had in mind when he said 'eat me' morningpaper [rofl]

WallOfSilence · 22/05/2008 21:57

I know a 30 year old woman who always asks for lettuce in a salad... & always leaves it!!

It's not me

SoupDragon · 22/05/2008 21:57

It's made from real bear faces you know.

SlartyBartFast · 22/05/2008 21:57

ds eats ham sandwiches everyday,
not billy bear i hasten to add.

he wont eat, tuna, egg, cheese, peanut butter, humous, can't think of anything else

WilfSell · 22/05/2008 21:58

nope, bear testicles soupy, I told you

SoupDragon · 22/05/2008 21:59

No, they simply slice the face. How else do you think they get the shape and features?

chipmonkey · 22/05/2008 21:59

I knew a little girl who would ask for ham and pineapple pizza in a pizzeria and then pick all the pineapple off!

TheFallenMadonna · 22/05/2008 21:59

Nooooo edam.

Bleurgh.

Although, I do love Frazzles...

WilfSell · 22/05/2008 22:00

I refer you all to my prediction of 20:21:41

MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 22:00

ew at the soggy frazzle, haven't had those for ages. I like a frazzle and and a scampi fry with gin and tonic.

SlartyBartFast · 22/05/2008 22:00

so WHAT SHall i FEED him?

TheFallenMadonna · 22/05/2008 22:02

Ah yes. A bit of fake shellfish to go with your fake meat

Now, I like pork scratchings which are real animal bits covered with a coating of fake animal flavouring as far as I can tell

MrsCarrot · 22/05/2008 22:04

I have never eaten a pork scratching, is it true they can have hairs on them?

TheFallenMadonna · 22/05/2008 22:06

I've never experienced a hair. But I suppose it's quite possible.

RubberDuck · 22/05/2008 22:07

You know thanks to this thread I now have cravings for luncheon meat with salad cream drizzled all over it.

AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!

cheesesarnie · 22/05/2008 22:07

apparently you can buy fake sushi now?never tried it though

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 22/05/2008 22:07

omg WOS, highland toffee bars! Do they even exist anymore? I lost many a milktooth in their sticky clutches.

cali · 22/05/2008 22:08

WWB, good for you. It's not everybody's dc who will eat pitta bread filled with salad and hummus. We eat a decent diet but I do take dd1 to mcd's occasionally. I like them and I would rather she was allowed to eat them every now and again with my supervision.

IMO teach them when they are young what is healthy food and a healthy diet, but still allow them to have so called junk food. This way it wont be such a novelty when parents aren't around to dictate what their children eat.

I challenge anyone to drive the length of the country as often as we do, crave a quick fix from burger king on the m6 and say to dd, no you can only have raw veg and fruit to eat.
