For me it has to be raisins or sultanas in savoury dishes or any containing a sauce.

Raisins in flapjack - Yes, please.
Raisins in apple crumble or fruit stew - No thanks
Raisins in curry or morrocan stew - Absolutely not.

Another one is banana milkshake or banana custard.
Banana with rice cakes or on its own before a run - Yes.
Banana in banana cake - definitely Yes.
For some.reason, I just don't like it when it's whizzed with vanilla ice cream and why ruin a steaming pot of luscious custard with banana?

tobee · 03/05/2025 13:32

I only eat peanut butter in things like porridge, Asian salad dressing, satay, biscuits or cake.

Can't stand it on toast or bread.

Chocaholic1216 · 03/05/2025 13:38

I love banana in a banoffee pie or banana bread. I don’t like to just eat a banana on its own though.

stilton in a broccoli and Stilton soup is lovely but I can’t stand the stuff otherwise.

love rice done all sorts of ways as a savoury dish but hate a sweet rice pudding for dessert.

menopausalfart · 03/05/2025 13:39

Mushrooms. I only like fried. I can't stand them in anything else and will even pick them out of a Pot Noodle.

sumhip · 03/05/2025 13:43

Raisins, peas, and sweetcorn in anything wet (eg curry, shepherds pie, tuna mayonnaise).

Hot/melted Stilton - tastes like mould.
Cheese board Stilton - yes, please.

OMGitsnotgood · 03/05/2025 13:53

I love tomatoes and all tomato products but don’t like cooked and raw in the same meal.
Raw tomatoes in a salad - yes please.
Cooked tomatoes in a sauce - yes please.
Raw tomatoes in a salad served alongside anything containing cooked tomatoes - no thank you

Chemenger · 03/05/2025 13:58

Oats in muesli - very much yes,
oats in flapjack or cookies - definitely
oats in porridge - hard no.

LindorDoubleChoc · 03/05/2025 14:14

Fruit with meat - no to all of it thank you very much.

I have a sort of opposite one: natural Greek yogurt NO, cucumber NO, Tzatziki ooh yes please.

Hotchocolatemug · 03/05/2025 14:21

Fruit sauces - yes please
Fruit sauces on meat - no thank you

Cinnamon in dessert - virtually always
Cinnamon with rice/similar - no idea why this is a thing

I also love nuts and seeds when they’re part of a dish but unfortunately don’t find them appetising served plain as a snack

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 03/05/2025 18:33

Fish & seafood - lovely.
All cheese (except Danish blue) - great.
Together makes me heave, but meat & cheese go well together.

I think the worst meal I ever had was a friend made a fish pie with a D.B. sauce.

Hoppinggreen · 03/05/2025 18:35

Fruit? Mostly nice
Fruit with anything savory? No
Same with Nuts and anything sweet
Nuts are for savory things and fruit is for sweet things

IridaceaeFloribunda · 03/05/2025 20:18

Hot custard - yum
Hot pudding - yum
Hot Custard and hot pudding - nope
Fruit - delicious
Chocolate - delicious
Fruit and chocolate- nope
dried fruit in tagine or curry - delightful

We are the same person! I'm with you on every single one!

Cerialkiller · 03/05/2025 22:20

Ginger in savory food, all good. Sweet stuff though...ginger cake or biscuits? nooooo.

I love fresh cherries but anything cherry flavoured or with cooked cherries is disgusting. Black forest gatoux is gross.

Speaking of the above, chocolate great, fruit great. Almost any combination of the two is awful. Chocolate should only be filled with other chocolate (eg gnashe), neutral busicuityness, nuts or caramel/honeycomb type stuff, everything else is an abomination. There I said it!

Whoever came up with the idea of orange chocolate should be locked in stocks and have rancid tangerines thrown at them.

I also like booze but think boozy chocolate is gross too.

I love tomatoes in anything but can't eat them on their own/raw.

Chemenger · 03/05/2025 22:22

Hot coffee in a cup with a splash of milk - lovely
Iced coffee - can’t even swallow it, revolting.
Anything coffee flavoured that isn’t a hot drink - no thanks.

Oneearringlost · 03/05/2025 22:24

Anything sweet, fruit, maple syrup in any savoury dishes, NO!

Digestification · 03/05/2025 22:24

I love a banana but dislike banoffee pie.

i love hard boiled eggs but they have no place in a fish pie.

TasWair · 03/05/2025 22:25

Roasted parsnips- lovely.
Parsnip soup, on the other hand, is absolutely rank. It tastes like farts. Scum.

CosyRoby · 03/05/2025 22:27

I hate egg ( of any kind , scrambled / boiled / fried , even the smell )
but love those little savory scotch eggs 😳
could pop ten In a row of them
I don’t know if it’s because of the meat surround / mix ?

mambojambodothetango · 03/05/2025 22:28

Nope. I eat any and all of these things. I can't imagine being so fussy.

Shodan · 03/05/2025 22:28

Bananas- raw, yes please. Cooked in any form, or liquidised, or as a flavouring in sweets- absolutely not.

Camembert-deep fried or raw, yes indeedy. Baked in its little pot- no thank you.

LuckyManifestations · 03/05/2025 22:28
