What to serve with gammon as a main meal

i have a large piece of gammon I want to use but don’t want it cold or with chips. Serving hot would need some sort of sauce. Any ideas please?

@Ragingtorrent heat a tin of pears after putting cloves in the pears. pour the syrup over the meat on the plate and place a pear half on top of the gammon. roast potatoes and peas and carrots or brocolli. dont overfill the plate.

The traditional way to serve boiled gammon is with parsley sauce, boiled, new or mashed potatoes and parsley sauce. Alternatively you can serve it with cauliflower cheese or my particular favourite which is cheesey leeks. Or you could serve it with jacket potatoes and a cheese sauce. I personally don't think it works with gravy as a "roast dinner". You wouldn't serve ham with gravy.

I always do baked potatoes, mushrooms and sweetcorn with it

Mash and a fried egg?
sides of runner beans and cabbage.

Mashed potatoe, roasties, buttered carrots and parsley sauce.

Egg and chips

Or

Bubble & squeak and baked beans

I do it with roast potatoes and carrots and cauliflower cheese made with loads of extra cheese sauce to drizzle over the gammon when serving.

Baked potato, mixed veg and fried egg or pineapple.

I'd just do buttered new potatoes, peas, and then some mustard on the side.

I make a warm pineapple and chilli salsa. Sweat off a finely diced red onion and red pepper and chilli with some cumin. Add a can of crushed pineapple and some cracked black pepper. Then just leave on a low heat until it's thicken up a bit. Stir through some fresh coriander before serving.

We are having it tomorrow (and Monday), though as a ‘ham’ not gammon steaks, etc.

Sunday we’re having gammon with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, sautéed leeks, and french beans.

Monday with mash, roasted brussel sprouts and any of the above leftovers.

Pineapple slices too for anyone who wants them.

Baked potatoes and leeks baked in cheese sauce in our house.
