Btw i think I prefer a baked cheesecake as it's got a nicer creamier texture

I prefer unbaked, I find the texture lighter and less claggy. I only like fruit cheesecake so you get some tang to cut through the richness. I used to make a passion fruit one that was very nice, I'll see if I can find the recipe...

Baked.

21ZIGGY · 29/10/2024 20:47

Unbaked. So much easier.

Biscoff or lemon & raspberry.

tealandteal · 29/10/2024 20:48

I love a burnt basque cheesecake, generally prefer baked over unbaked.

HappyAsASandboy · 29/10/2024 20:48

Unbaked lime cheesecake with the base made of ginger nuts. Fabulous!

Littleguggi · 29/10/2024 20:49

It's 50/50 so far!

I prefer baked, lemon and blueberry being my favourite.

I do make an amazing non bake sweet mince pie cheesecake though.

Basque cheesecake is the best! But to be honest I've never met a cheesecake (baked or unbaked) I didn't like..... That's a lie I once had the most awful banana cheesecake, which was warm and tasted of fake banana.... Boke

Ooh I made this mince pie cheesecake last Christmas:

Unbaked every time. This recipe works every time. I like ginger nuts for the base and sometimes do a lime version rather than lemon. Yum. www.janespatisserie.com/2019/05/30/no-bake-lemon-cheesecake/

AdditionalCharacter · 29/10/2024 21:02

Oh thank you! I'll save that and have at least three test runs before Christmas, just to on the safe side.

I like that type of planning 😂

I love every Jane's patisserie recipe I have ever made, particularly the mini chocolate chip baked cheesecakes- I won the works bake off competition with these!

Baked.

All the others always taste like a packet of digestives biscuits (or ginger nuts) whizzed up in a food processor with a packet of Philadelphia on top (with lemon curd etc added). I'd rather just have the Philly on the biscuit.

Unbaked - the one in Jamie’s ministry of food is great, I like to make a summer fruit or blackcurrant sauce to go with it. It’s also utterly enormous if you make it according to the recipe.

I made one at the weekend! It has a yummy, creme brulee/creme caramel type of burnt sugar vibe. It was dead easy as well.

CheerfulBunny · 29/10/2024 21:18

Japanese baked cheesecake is lovely but a right faff.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 29/10/2024 21:18

I don't like baked cheesecake. Or unbaked cheesecake.

I only eat/make my mother's recipe for unbaked Cottage Cheese Cheesecake which is deliciously light and fluffy, flavoured with lemon zest. I love that, it's absolutely epic

OKScarpetta · 29/10/2024 21:20

Baked- raspberry and lemon my favourite… trying to remember which cook book it’s from. I think it has a pink cover, a Hummingbird Cake book I think?

No-bake, I don't like baked ones at all
but love any fruit no-bake ones. I don't like chocolate cheesecake.

User990 · 29/10/2024 21:25

Baked! Although not a big cheesecake fan.

Mummyslittlegiraffe · 29/10/2024 21:36

Baked, Mary Berry’s is a big family favourite (from her baking bible book). Use whatever berries you have fresh or frozen for the compote, I put those in a little jug and let people add their own.
