Lazy Garlic

notnowbernard · 11/03/2008 21:12

Oh, I see

Thought it was a secret I'd not been let in on, but I have seen it before!

Surely it's mega-bucks?

Compared to the bulb

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 21:13

Probably but it lasts for ages and it saves fiddly chopping or grating and hands smelling of garlic.

Do you get Lazy chillies as well?

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 21:16

Actually just checked and in tesco a 4 bulb pack of garlic which would last me about a week or so is £1.19 and the jar of very lazy garlic is £1.48 and this lasts me at least a month so worth it imo.

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 21:17

I don't lol but keep meaning too! Also like the look of Lazy Ginger.

notnowbernard · 11/03/2008 21:17

4 bulbs a week!

Fuck, what are you doing with it?!

PMSLOF at NotNowBernard and BBBee!

abigaillockhart · 11/03/2008 21:21

Lazy Chilli is great though.

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 21:22

LOl we eat alot of garlic but I am a bit crap at just leaving the rest of an opened bulb in our pestle and mortar and it goes dry. Hence my need for lazy garlic!

notnowbernard · 11/03/2008 21:31

I keep garlic in the fridge

Crack open the bulb and take the cloves as required

Lasts ages

Ditto chillis

And ginger

God, I feel superior

bozza · 11/03/2008 21:41

I am a bit surpised at you lot. Even I can grate cheddar. I only ever get bits of finger in with grated apple or carrot or breadcrumbs or whatever.

Also I make pastry and yorkshire puds.

'Tis only the instant gravy that lets me down.

bundle · 11/03/2008 21:43

you can only buy crap cheese ready-grated so it's a no-go as far as i'm concerned.

do you buy ready-eaten veg too??

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 21:49

Oh I buy the pre pack stir fry veg as well. It's so easy to chuck in pan (after washing it of course) add spices and soy sauce and serve with egg noodles which only take 4 mins. I draw the line at pre packed salad though although it's probably not much different.

notnowbernard · 11/03/2008 21:55

I think it's because I get a veg box delivered

What's in it is what gets cooked

Cannot Must Not Deviate

So it's carrots and spuds all the way at the moment

With some lovely kohl rabi

notnowbernard · 11/03/2008 22:02

In my defence I did have to take a photo of the kr when first delivered and text it to a foodie mate as I had absolutely NO IDEA what it was

Have discovered it's good in colesaw, if you're interested

monkeytrousers · 11/03/2008 22:02

This is the ultimate in kitchen laziness!

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 11/03/2008 22:04

I do not buy pre-grated cheese.

I do not buy ready meals.

I do not buy lazy chilli.

I do not buy lazy garlic.

I do not buy frozen veg.

I do not buy pizza bases.

I do however buy bagged salad leaves..... so shoot me.

LGJ legs it.

brimfull · 11/03/2008 22:07

I bought grated cheese for the dog...she has to have tablets everyday and will only have them if disguised in something yummy.
There I was thinking I was clever buying a bag of grated cheese which I could squish onto the tablets.Bitterly disappointed to find it's coated in potatoe starch and you can't squish it together.

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 22:08

I do actually make my own coleslaw believe it or no.

noddyholder · 11/03/2008 22:08

it smells like old socks and sweats in the bag.Yuk!My mum has it and it is awful

notnowbernard · 11/03/2008 22:11

Coleslaw a plenty here, too (what with the abundance of carrots and everything)

The dds are turning orange in my quest for organic, seasonal living
