I buy it not grated and when it is getting a bit old I grate it and shove in in the freezer and use for cooking

I find the pre grated ones are not generally nice cheese

I buy ready sliced edam and grated emmenthal/gruyere.

DH has high cholesterol and would eat a whole cheddar block if I let it in the house/fridge Plus,
I always end up with grated fingers, which ruins a good block of cheese, I find.

mixed herbs are dreadful!

I have never bought pre-grated cheese.

I have bought frozen mash but it is vile.

I would love to shop at M&S and have all the veg prepared but it is so expensive.

YOu can get preprepared veg in all major supermarkets.

You still pay more, but def not M&S prices. Except possibly waitrose. But I don't shop in there.

They don't sell grated cheese round my way. Only grated rat.

Manufacturers were sick of wasting cheese every time the assembly line malfunctioned.

The machinery is set to chop blocks into a certain weight and a certain diameter. Every so often the line malfunctions.....Et voila grated cheese.

I bought it when we went camping - pre-grated Cathedral City. It was sort of floury - I suppose to stop the bits clagging together. It was yacky.
