Chicken hasn't decorated properly

Hi guys,

I got the chicken out of the freezer last night and put it into the fridge and I've taken it out tonight (literally about 5 mins ago) and it's still frozen. I can feel it's hard on the inside and see some frost on the outside.

I usually don't have a problem when I take it out the night before.

I currently have it running under cold water but are there any other quicker ways to defrost it? This way usually takes around 20/25 mins and it's getting late.

I feel weird about using the microwave as it's heat and I hate the idea of the chicken cooking a bit before hand.

It's just two chicken breasts that will be covered in a marinade and going into the oven for 25 mins or so.

Thanks

Probably not very experienced at decorating. I bet he was winging it.

I recently saw a youtube video, that featured a chicken climbing up a large wooden ladder, very very high ladder, this chicken would be good for painting the ceiling at least.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 19/01/2022 20:00

A typo? Aye right, hen.

MrsGinnyM · 19/01/2022 20:01

Whatever you do, don't get in a flap about it.

Thermal vest, hot mug of tea and it'll need a very tall step latter.

Sorted.

Oh as soon as I read the title I knew MN wouldn’t let me down 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nothing further to add but bravo to PP who said about Chick-A-Trade 🤣🤣🤣🤣

thinkfast · 19/01/2022 20:24

Hope the chicken's not a quack. Definitely don't pay the chicken until it comes back and does the job properly!

LemonDrizzles · 19/01/2022 20:27

Sorry to hear that your chicken made a cock up of decorating. But finding a good chicken decorator is like finding hens teeth....

actiongirl1978 · 19/01/2022 20:32

Thanks OP I am actually crying a little bit. Even DH laughed and he hates it when I read out threads to him!

MrsGinnyM · 19/01/2022 20:33

It sounds like Mrs Chicken got too cocky and over-egged the pudding about her previous decorating eggsperience.

@PoodleKaboodle

I always use Chick-A-Trade for these situations to verify their credentials. Rookie mistake OP🐔

Of course chickens are crap at decorating. Never hire someone who doesn't have opposable thumbs.

Sounds like a right cock, your decorator

ClariceQuiff · 19/01/2022 20:53

Your chicken obviously made a huge effort, but in the end just couldn't quite poulet off.

Zoom101 · 19/01/2022 20:59

Maybe your chicken couldn’t cross the road to Beak & Q?

RAOK · 19/01/2022 20:59

Really hoped this was about a chicken failing to properly decorate its henhouse Grin

For the win
Ylvamoon · 19/01/2022 22:25

So, the chicken chickend out while decorating?
This is what Gretel would do: pre heat the oven to 180°C. Let the chicken check the temperature... push it into the oven, shut the door.tight
Then eat it about 90 minutes later!

TonyThreePies · 20/01/2022 00:07

Did the chook give you a cheep quote OP? Don't get in a flap about it. Just egg-sit the thread.
