Jacket potato toppings - what’s your favourite?

I personally like jacket with sour cream and chives. I also love oven baked jacket potato with lots of cheese, usually accompanied with a chicken salad or tuna salad or a Mexican bean salad loaded on top as a topping. And recently, I tried it with butter chicken which was fab... and now I’m hungry again

Basic - cheese and beans with a salad on the side.

All the middle scooped out, mashed up with cheese & either chopped up ham or grilled bacon, stuffed back in. Back in the oven until it's gone all melty, about 15-20 minutes. Would probably work with cheese & tuna as well.

I also like cottage cheese & tuna, as a combination. Butter & pepper mashed into the potato before the topping is applied.

Leftover chilli or bolognaise are also good. Both improved by cheese.

@OddsNSodsBitsNBobs Do you mean chilli con carne or chilli as in just chilli? Both sound divine.

Chilli con carne is bloody lovely. But I meant the sweet chilli philly, 😋

Lots of butter, tuna mayo with pepper sprinkled on top, then grated cheese on top of that! 😋

I actually just love it with butter (lots of it. Anchor) , salt and pepper. On a bed of salad with dressing on. Sometimes with cheese but I think a plain one with just butter is a thing of beauty.

As a side to pork chops steaks with grated cheese and apple sauce on the potato

Ham chopped up and cream cheese

Cheese and coleslaw or chilli and soured cream.

Bake the potato then mush up the insides and add some butter, salt and pepper. Finally plop a poached egg on the top and enjoy as the yolk soaks into the potato.

Oh yes, and cheese savoury is an absolute cracker!
Grate equal amounts of cheese and hard boiled egg, mix up with chopped onions (red or spring), chopped tomatoes, and mayo.

My favourite is mushrooms in a Stilton sauce but I hardly ever make it and instead eat beans and cheese or coleslaw or cheese on our weekly jacket potato (aka my lazy dinner) night.

My ex father in law always eats his with scrambled egg on the top! I always think that’s super weird. #shudders

Egg Mayo! Never thought to try it until saw someone on mumsnet mention it a couple of years ago and I’m so glad I did (easily pleased, me!)
