Jacket potato toppings - what’s your favourite?

I personally like jacket with sour cream and chives. I also love oven baked jacket potato with lots of cheese, usually accompanied with a chicken salad or tuna salad or a Mexican bean salad loaded on top as a topping. And recently, I tried it with butter chicken which was fab... and now I’m hungry again

What’s your favourite topping?

Oozing with mozzarella cheese, topped with sun dried tomatoes and basil. Then some shaves of Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Pizza on baked potatoes 👌

Chilli con carne is bloody lovely. But I meant the sweet chilli philly, 😋

These all sound lovely - I've just had my favourite which is crispy jacket potato with mayonnaise. I think jacket potatoes with mayonnaise are one of life's great pleasures!

Chilli philly is lovely, but it is very sweet (it always tastes overwhelmingly of pineapple to me!) I bet it's great in a jacket, or maybe a jacket sweet potato?

If you like marmite , jacket potato with beans and cheese (stir in half a tsp of marmite to the beans when cooking them - this also works for beans on toast )
Also cottage cheese and marmite.
My son occassionally has a naked jacket potato - no butter and no filling. (Ewww)

Cottage cheese with marmite sounds like an interesting combo. Would you add them in the oven or after you bring the baked potato out?

Cottage cheese with onions and chives, or like a pp, chilli (con carne).

@marypoppinsreturns I’ve not tried cottage cheese with baked potatoes. Also onion and chives sounds great! Do you put the cottage cheese on top of potatoes whilst baking or after it has been baked? Also onions, how would you do that? Caramelized perhaps?

Best though is grated strong cheddar and butter.

Must be oven cooked in oil and salt (plus sometimes Rosemary) for extra crispness. My friend insists on microwaving her baked potatoes claiming it’s quicker and they taste just the same. She lies!

Apparently microwave potatoes are a thing! My aunt does it too.

Inspired by the chicken curry, I’m planning to have baked potato with butter chicken tomorrow. I’m so tempted to have it now but I need to sleep soon

After reading these suggestions im really missing my Wetherspoons jacket potato with cheese and a glass of gin and tonic for about £6.50!!!

I had a sweet jacket potato with a tahini sauce from a take out the other week which was a bit different for me but good.
However my favourite is the most simple. A large very crispy spud, fluffy inside with lots of butter. Best comfort food!

Butter (mash it in really good)

Then some grated cheddar.

Then beans and coleslaw.

Then more cheddar. (More than that. A little more. Little bit more for luck.)

Then black pepper.

The marmite and cheese option - do you use the marmite like butter and then top with cheese? Or something else?

Son - tuna and baked beans mixed up (sounds awful but it's so good) with grated cheese on top, or chilli con carne and cheese (the only time I use tinned chilli) or chicken tikka sandwich filler.

Me- nice olive oil and seasalt, or hummus & pesto, or tuna savoury, or seafood cocktail sandwich filler. Always with a big fresh side salad.

If I was having cottage cheese and marmite, I would mix it up together first and put on top (as a cold topping)
If it was normal cheese I would put butter then marmite, then grated cheese (would possibly melt the cheese afterwards)
