@Kobanidaughters You're feeling better and more mobile then? Good news!

Monday: Jacket potatoes with tuna
Tuesday: Roast chicken
Wednesday: Fish cakes
Thursday: Courgette pasta
Friday: Pizza with whatever veg are left over and can be roasted, topped with the left over talleggio.

Not the most exciting week, but is fine I guess.

SpaceOp · 09/08/2021 20:37

Just saw that cauliflower schwarma recipe... that looks amazing. There's a Jamie Oliver recipe for whole roasted cauliflower I've been meaning to try but this looks better.... I am going to put it on our list for next few weeks....

I've done the JO recipe too, was very good.
KobaniDaughters · 09/08/2021 22:06

Thanks @SpaceOp yes indeed and back from a month home in the UK

SpaceOp · 13/08/2021 11:06

I screwed up my online food order by throwing a whole lot in to reserve my slot and then logging on too late to update (better than the last time I did this - a chicken and 4 bottles of wine turned up)! On plus side, I ordered loads of veg (on downside, have veg box arriving tomorrow) and have some meat from my last meat box in the freezer still. So I have ingredients to make:

Cauliflower shwarma as per recipe on here!
Fajitas and/or halloumi+spinach wraps (might do the wraps for lunch one day and fajitas another day for dinner)
Spaghetti and meatballs
Pork chops with veg and potatoes
Gyoza with veg stir fry and noodles (also, gyoza for lunch with broth and noodles and some greens)

KobaniDaughters · 13/08/2021 15:04

FYI that cauliflower shawarma was AMAZING

Fab, I'm making it tonight, finally!
MirandaMarple · 13/08/2021 16:35

Lamb burgers with mint and yoghurt dressing, fries
Roast chicken dinner
Green gnocchi bake with apple salad
Sumac chicken thighs with coconut and chilli rice
Creamy salmon pasta
Bean, halloumi and pepper burritos

SpaceOp · 13/08/2021 17:01

What do you all serve the cauliflower with? I'm thinking of doing it tomorrow, probably on the bbq.

Ricekrispie22 · 13/08/2021 18:28

Courgette lasagne
Roasted tomato and pesto quiche
Tuscan bean stew and ciabatta
Sourdough pizza
Crispy tofu pad Thai
Falafel flatbreads
Wild mushroom orzo risotto

MirandaMarple · 13/08/2021 18:50

Toasted naan, pickled red onions, and then the recipe has a tahini dressing and a pomegranate molasses drizzle at the end. I might add fresh tomatoes and some finely chopped cabbage (only because I have tonnes from the garden)
KobaniDaughters · 13/08/2021 22:39

@SpaceOP I made a fattoush style salad but with lots of Israeli couscous thrown in, toasted flatbreads and dukkah

TiredButDancing · 13/08/2021 22:55

@Kobanidaughters that sounds good but I would have to pick up salad/herb stuff. I do have to do a quick run to buy the cereal etc that didn't come because of the online cock up so perhaps.

@MirandaMarple I do have tomatoes and actually make a lovely tomato salad if i pick up some parsley.

Will probably do some flat breads and salad of some sort.

KobaniDaughters · 14/08/2021 00:01

@TiredButDancing if you have tomatoes and parsley you’re halfway there already to a tabbouleh

WhatsMyNameGonnaBeNow · 14/08/2021 18:14

This eve: Ratatouille & brie pasta bake
Tomorrow: Pan fried sea bass, pea & asparagus risotto
M: Goats cheese, red pepper & caramelised onion tart, salad
T: Marmalade haddock tray bake
W: Lentil & roast veg lasagne, salad, garlic bread
T: Spicy peanut tofu stir fry, noodles
F: Fish tacos, smoky rice & bean salad

KobaniDaughters · 14/08/2021 20:59

I kind of just want to steal @Ricekrispie22 whole plan this week!

Sunday: back to school out for dinner
Monday: Mexican mezze bits and bobs, might just do a big old nacho plate
Tuesday: raw veg Thai noodle salad
Wednesday: courgette and chickpea filo pie
Thursday: DH sorting
Friday: pizza as per

ladywithnomanors · 15/08/2021 11:11

Sunday - BBQ ( chicken wings, kebabs, South African sausage) with salad / corn

Monday - ham with baby potatoes and peas/ corn

Tuesday - chicken and chorizo pilaf

Wednesday- pasta with tomato sauce and garlic bread

Thursday- homemade pizza or jacket potatoes

cricketmum84 · 15/08/2021 11:49

Scrolling for ideas! I have a DH who won't eat a meal without meat, a fussy 12yo and a more adventurous 16yo and I'm falling into the habit of just putting the same stuff on the list every week!

This week is:
Pork fried rice with crispy seaweed
Grilled tandoori chicken with salad and flatbreads
Chilli nachos
Thai green curry and rice - DH is out so we can jam pack it with veggies!
Salt and pepper chicken, more crispy seaweed, chips for DH and DC

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/08/2021 17:57

Tonight we're having fish finger tacos with charred corn salsa

Tomorrow, aloo gobhi with homemade flatbreads and little spicy courgette fritters

After that, in no particular order:
veggie sausage meal (maybe with sweet potato mash, or maybe as casserole with baked potatoes)
black bean soup and nachos
either veggie bolognaise or lasagne
dosa and sambal

So the cauliflower... DS declared it "the best thing you've ever made" which was nice (he says that at least once every few weeks so it's not quite the compliment it sounds, but still good Grin). Was a bit of a faff and i didn't quite get the cooking right but will definitely do it again. Thanks all.

MirandaMarple · 16/08/2021 13:32

@SpaceOp I know what you mean, I think il roast/bbq the cauliflower in florets next time and not whole.

buckeejit · 16/08/2021 14:26

Placemarking as I'm usually rubbish at planning & now have to make meals for my parents at least once a week. They eat by 6 & I finish work about 5.30 but wfh so can easily put stuff in oven etc but nothing extravagant. Still working out the best way to take hot meals over-they're only 3 miles so should be ok but they're traditional eaters & can't do anything spicy!

Today-chicken schwarma king with rice & naan
Tues-prawn curry
Wed-(for parents too) - lemon chicken escalopes, baby spuds & veg
Thurs-homemade houmous & flatbread & nibbles
Fri-pizza

I'm here for any recs of good jars of sauce too & any fast meals. I'm loving the Aldi/Lidl curry sauces that have the little spice sections in top.

Staples for me are instantpot risotto, Instantpot brisket & Instantpot macaroni & cheese!

I think the BBQ is nice but I am tempted just to cook it in the oven next time - just turn it over etc on the bbq was bloody hard work! Grin. Not helped because I think I pre-cooked it a bit much. I think if you've got a gas bbq, it's probably easier. I think it looks impressive as a whole cauliflower - I can totally see me smugly placing it down on a table as a key side dish at a BBQ... but there's a reason - you all instinctively understand the hassle factor!

I like the Blue Dragon massaman paste

Love these beans as the basis of a lazy Greek meal for two, with pitta, tsatziki and Greek salad

The Spice Tailor curry sauces are really good
