Will you be having it tomorrow?
Links or no links, what are you serving it with?

Steak Pie from Scott the butchers in Dundee. No link sausage in it, only learnt that was a thing on Mumsnet a few years ago. Served with mash or roast potatoes, mixed veg and extra gravy.

Steak pie for ds and i has come as always from the local butcher. It is always very good indeed and it has links in it too. Serving it tomorrow with crispy potato slices and some mixed veg

Yuck no sausages in steak pie!!

We’re not having it tomorrow. Had it on Boxing Day instead.

Coldhandscoldheart · 31/12/2019 18:46

I didn’t realise piddledub made them, will have to check that out. But steak pie with links here. DH has bought shortcrust pastry though, which I’m not sure is quite right. Not to worry eh.
With mash, carrots, beetroot, broccoli I should think.

IHaveBrilloHair · 31/12/2019 18:51

I always make steak pie on New Year's Day. Having it with mash and whatever veg is kicking about Grin

Homemade steak pie here served with frozen roast potatoes, mashed turnip, carrots and sprouts followed by aunt bessies apple pie and Mackies vanilla ice cream.

I'm no good at puddings other than trifle and we had that last week for Christmas and I never have frozen roast potatoes but someone picking my shopping at Iceland substituted my Maris pipers for aunt bessies frozen roasties...one less thing for me to do!

PinkyU · 31/12/2019 19:00

Steak pie (homemade, beef cooked over night in the slow cooker) with baby links (not wee wullie winkies Wink), roast and mashed tatties, neeps, carrots and braised cabbage.

Justmuddlingalong · 31/12/2019 19:02

The Aunt Bessie's roasters are nice when just cooked, but very high on this year's list of disappointments when cold and dipped in mayo. Bleurgh! 😣

Balloondog · 31/12/2019 19:09

Links?? As in link sausages? In the pie?

Anyway. Yes. My dad will be serving steak pie from the butcher's with peas, carrots and mashed potato I think.

IHaveBrilloHair · 31/12/2019 20:28

Yes, link sausages, must be beef/steak, in the pie.

I’ve got a vienetta for pudding this year, all class!

My dad used to get a tunnocks Apple sponge for Ne’erday pud, with birds custard, oh my god it was amazing

My Gran used to make it Hogmanay at her house party she was a school cook and pinched the school trays to cook them in.

BrokenWing · 31/12/2019 21:50

Yeah, we got a huge one from the local butcher as we have some family coming over.
