Cheese and .....

I love cheese.

Recently I read of cheese being added to or put on top of a food and I thought ‘that’s bloody brilliant - why have I never done that?’ Holy Cheese Grail and all that.

Of course I forgot what it was 😢. Any bright cheesy ideas - this has been driving my crazy?

Jam sandwiches! I only heard of that a few years ago and thought for was genius. It is so good.

Ooooh like the idea of veggie haggis (yes we have some for Friday). I usually have it with mint sauce!

brie on lentils
feta in cous cous/bulghur wheat
stilton on roast carrots
cheesy tortilla chips on top of chilli

I love pancakes with cheese, also waffles. And crumpets (there may be a pattern here)

Cheese in a fish finger sandwich.

Also cheese & crisp sandwiches.

Not cheese related but veggie fingers dipped in mint yogurt sauce is my new favourite thing

Peanut butter, raspberry jam and chilli cheese sandwiches. Mmmmmm.

Crumpets.

I love it on a hot buttered crumpet, either cold cheese, or put under the grill.

And At the moment I’m eating basmati rice with cubes of cheddar .

Scrambled egg and cheese 😍

Marmite? Cheese & Marmite crumpets/toast/wraps?
Cream cheese spread on celery?
Cheese & figs (feta or goats with fig jam)?
Cheese & chocolate?

My mum's friend puts Stilton in her mince pies. Apparently they are gorgeous although I haven't tried them myself.

I still haven’t figured it out (maybe I hallucinated it?) but I am enjoying trying out all sorts of cheesy delights!

Veggie chilli?
Lentil daal?
Ratatouille?

Malt loaf like soreen?

I would definately put some on chilli, not sure about Dahl though! Also over minestrone or onion soup. Mmmmmmm

I know people like it with fruitcake but I just can’t bring myself to do it!

Blue cheese with plain chocolate digestives.

Drumhead cabbage with cheese sauce.

Cheese with fresh figs.

Cheese with dried/crystallised fruits, especially dates.

Brie, rocket and bramble jelly on baguette.
Strong melty cheddar on a field mushroom.
Spinach, ricotta and gruyere spread over puff pastry.
Griddled halloumi on freekah, chickpeas, courgette with ras al
Chilli cheese melted over black bean stew.
Sag paneer.
Feta stuffed into baby courgettes and baked.

I quite like cheese

Now here’s a question - a bit controversial but here goes - DS has devised that he wants tomatoes every day at break! He makes them in the common room and I’m worried he will look like a piece of cheese as that’s all he has in them.

What can you put in these that isn’t cheese?

Tomato sandwiches? Wasn't sure if you'd missed a word out if he's just eating tomatoes! Hmm not a fan but love pan tomaca- would he be able to make that (is there a toaster)?

With a pinch of celery salt, or a smear of salad cream or sandwich spread. No butter. Heaven.
Or with a heap of rocket. Very important that the tomato in a tomato sandwich is room temperature rather than straight from the fridge.
..or a bit of cheese

or a smear of pesto.

Tomatoes stuffed with prawn cocktail.

Tomatoes? Of for goodness sake (autocorrect). TOASTED. Toasted sandwiches!
