Cheese and .....

I love cheese.

Recently I read of cheese being added to or put on top of a food and I thought ‘that’s bloody brilliant - why have I never done that?’ Holy Cheese Grail and all that.

Of course I forgot what it was 😢. Any bright cheesy ideas - this has been driving my crazy?

Lancashire cheese melted on top of apple sauce-topped pork chops.
Grated very mature cheddar into very hot tomato soup.
Very mature cheddar melted on crumpets.

I'm hungry all of a sudden.

I think it was - definately saw it on my phone!

So definately not cheese on:
Toast
Mashed potatoes
Baked potatoes
Soup
Toasted sandwich
Omelette/frittata
Scrambled eggs
Fruit
Popcorn
Crackers
Jam (although honey on hard cheese is yum)

Some people swear by cheddar cheese in apple pie

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 23/01/2019 20:00

Really need to know now! I love cheese on things

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 23/01/2019 20:01

Wasn’t:
Griddled haloumi
Feta with walnuts
Goats cheese on celery...

I’m going to have to go through my browsing history aren’t I?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 23/01/2019 20:05

Wouldn’t be meat or fish as I’m a veggie

I love cheese and recently discovered a complete delight of a cheese board in an Italian restaurant, mainly because it was served with honey and walnuts as well as the ubiquitous grapes. Didn't know that was a thing, but it's delicious!!

pallisers · 23/01/2019 20:15

My old boss used to make an apple tart every autumn and would bring me a piece with a slice of strong cheddar - it was delicious.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 23/01/2019 20:17

I always have my chessboard with honey and walnuts. Mmmmmmmmm.

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 23/01/2019 20:26

Is cheese and digestives that weird? My gran used to give to me when I was a pup...

MeganChips · 23/01/2019 20:35

Food pawn? 😄

On top of pasta dishes? Mash?

BitOutOfPractice · 23/01/2019 20:36

Have you discounted Christmas / fruit cake op?

RedForShort · 23/01/2019 20:43

Read your title and ended it 'and pickle'.

Oooh haven't had a cheese and pickle sandwich forever! Do people eat them anymore?

Used to live off them, occasionally varying it with cheese and pickle on crackers. (Sweet pickle just to clarify; mostly Branson.)

Had a fight with a friend one as to if the pickle was put in the sandwich first then the cheese, or cheese then pickle.)

ImAChaiseLongueGetMeOutOfHere · 23/01/2019 20:45

Got to be fruit cake!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 23/01/2019 20:46

I love a good cheese and pickle sandwich. Has to be pickled onions though (on top of the cheese).

Drooling at the thought of a bowl of cheesy mash 😍😀

Butterymuffin · 23/01/2019 20:52

Apple tart?

It isn't this, but a cheese and jam sandwich is great. Read about it many years ago in a Brownie annual, I think.

BoglingToAswad · 23/01/2019 20:53

Cheese bread and butter pudding (savoury obvs)?

Failing that cheese and brown sauce sandwich yum yum yum Smile

couldbeanywhere · 23/01/2019 20:54
