fry off chopped up cooking bacon, add chopped leek, add pot of creme fraiche, 1 tsp of wholegrain mustard and 1/2 tsp of dijon mustard. serve on pasta.

Easy peasy.

Boil water

Dry fry some pine nuts and once browned set aside

Once the water has boiled, add brocolli florets and pasta. Take out the brocolli once cooked.

Drain pasta before it is al Dante and return to the pan over heat.

Then add olive oil, garlic (chilli if you like it), canned tuna/crab etc, the cooked brocolli, pine nuts and a squeeze of lemon juice (and seasoning).

Mix until all the water has disappeared and then serve.

Tortellini bake- my own recipe, I made it for dinner this evening! Takes maybe half an hour/40 mins.
Big saucepan- med-high heat, chuck in one or two crushed cloves of garlic, a chopped red onion and some smoked pancetta. Cook slowly so they release all their oil/juices. Then add some diced chicken breast and gently cook. (This is where I'd also add some mushrooms if DP didn't loathe them.) Stir in a few generous spoonfuls of cream cheese (I use a whole small tub of Philly) and a couple of tablespoons of green pesto to make the sauce. Chuck in a few handfuls of spinach, stir in until wilted. Add plenty of fresh ground black pepper. Stir in a handful of grated mozzarella which will melt and thicken the sauce.
Second saucepan- cook a packet of tortellini with some olive oil in the water. Once cooked, stir into the large saucepan with a few tablespoons of the water. Once it's all nicely mixed, put it all in a deep casserole dish, cover with some more grated mozzarella and drizzle some balsamic glaze on top. Cover with foil and oven bake for 10 mins. Remove the foil and cook for a further 5 mins. Devour with garlic bread Grin. Tremendously filling so usually lasts a few days!

Hi folks, we're just moving this to recipes so it doesn't disappear.

Chewbecca · 27/07/2016 13:31

Super simple:

Boil spaghetti
Fry some sliced chorizo. Slice some jarred red peppers & lots of black pepper.
Drain spaghetti (not too well, a little water remaining is good), add to chorizo & pepper pan with handful of Parmesan.

More Parmesan to serve.
Yum.

Feta, lemon, chilli and broad bean! So nice for summer

dontpokethebear · 27/07/2016 13:43

Dice onion, crush garlic, fry in a little butter. Add grated courgettes and fry. Once cooked add a big dollop of Philadelphia or other cream cheese and a little mixed herbs, mix until melted. Add to pasta of your choice.
This is a great quick kids tea.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/07/2016 13:54

91 - that sounds gorgeous. I love broad beans.

I use this ratatouille recipe as a pasta sauce. I love it because I can make it when the kids are at school and baby is asleep. Freeze it and use whenever. Great on pizzas, pasta or even just with a chicken breast or lamb!

I LOVE cacio e pepe - had it in Rome and it was to die for.

Also love bucatini all'amatriciana:

cook some diced bacon in olive oil, add some chilli to taste, then add diced tomatoes (I use passata as DP hates lumps...), cook to reduce and serve with bucatini and chuck lovely grated pecorino on.

If I've got a glut of cherry tomatoes, I roast them in a pyrex dish with salt and peppe, easy garlic, olive oil and balsamic vinegar (you can add herbs here too). Leave it cooking at 200c till it's just turning brown and sticky, then stir through cooked spaghetti. No cheese needed.

Mumsnet has a salmon pasta recipe which is smoked salmon, dill, lemon juice, and creme fraiche which is also amazing :)

pats obvious carb belly

Boil pasta.

Sauté whatever you have, I like mushrooms, bacon, courgette and garlic.

1 pack of cream cheese, break in 1 egg ad salt and pepper, whisk and add to sautéed stuff.

Mix into pasta with 1 small cup of pasta water.

Yum.

PurpleAlerts · 29/07/2016 11:42

Here's one we tried the other night.
Roughly chopped peppers, onions, courgettes and aubergine. Season. Chuck in hot oven with glug of olive oil for about 20 mins
Boil pasta
When veg nearly cooked stick some chopped up procsutto ham in baking pan with veg.
Mix together with drained pasta and pesto
Serve with grated cheese.
Was very nice!

Fried chilli flakes & chopped garlic in olive oil, stir in white crab meat or prawns. Good with linguine.

Flaked smoked mackerel (or smoked salmon or trout) with peas and cream. Good with fusilli.

Fried cubed aubergine with cubes of soft goats cheese and - if you have them - fresh herbs. Thyme is good. Toasted pine nuts go well too.

Blue cheese sauce - melt together some cream and blue cheese (St Agur works well) then stir in spinach till wilted. Ready washed spinach for ease. Add black pepper. Excellent with gnocchi.

Roasted red peppers (massive hassle to roast and peel yourself, so do a big batch which lasts a while or buy a jar) with soft goats cheese

Carbonara - fry lardons, beat an egg and add some cream if you like. Stir into freshly cooked and drained pan of spaghetti - not too warm or egg will scramble. Add lardons, chopped parsley, black pepper, and parmesan.

YelloDraw · 01/08/2016 21:23

Loads of lovely ideas here - I've noted lots down

1frenchfoodie · 02/08/2016 12:08

Fry chopped spring onions, bacon and mushrooms til onions are soft, add dolcelate and creme fraiche (low fat is fine) and season with black pepper and dried basil (the only reason I keep dried basil in the house). Stir til cheese is melted and serve over pasta.

CheeseFan · 02/08/2016 12:14

Put linguine on to boil. Slice half a chorizo ring, chop cherry tomatoes in half, chop some garlic. Fry all with some raw king prawns, add some parsley.

Mix chorizo etc with linguine and drizzle some fresh lemon juice over it... oh and grated parmesan of course. It's amazing.

queenoftheboys · 02/08/2016 12:42

While pasta is boiling fry a chopped onion until soft then add tin of tuna, bunch of chopped parsley and zest of a lemon and lots of black pepper. Add to cooked pasta then squeeze over the juice of the lemon and grate over some Parmesan.

SerenaJoy · 02/08/2016 16:46

Loads of great ideas here! I also intend to cook all my pasta until it's al Dante from now on Grin
