British regional foods

I am fortunate to live in a part of Britain that has some wonderful local delicacies, such as

Black pudding
tripe
black peas
sticky toffee pudding
butter pies.

It is my mission to sample as many varieties of regional fayre from around Britain as possible. What local delicacies do you have in your area and have you tried them?

In Devon, we have cream tea (scones, cream &jam), amazing pasties and other bakery treats, great cider and awesome fresh produce in the village I live in.

Bedfordshire Clanger, a suet crust dumpling with a savoury filling at one end and a sweet filling at the other, a main course and dessert in one package.

Haven't tried it - can't imagine what the middle bit tastes like!

I've heard of Dorset Knobs because they do the biscuit throwing, similarly we do a black pudding throwing competition, I'd rather eat them than throw them.

I'm currently residing oop North in Chorley originally from Berkshire. Tripe and black pudding took me a while to want to try but I'm so glad I did.

Bedfordshire Clanger sounds very unusual so that is definitely on my list.

Pork Scratchings: When I first moved here a lady very kindly gave me some PS to try, I fell in love with them and ate them non stop and put on about 3 stone, It was a bit unusual to eat something with so much hair on it though
