More cute smiles :)

StateofConfusion · 18/10/2012 22:48

some people just do not understand at all, only you know how you feel xX

This is the nicest place on mumsnet :)

Shaky · 18/10/2012 23:10

Thank you Bonkey and State

Thanks for the kitkat.
I think I was trying to be too brave and get back to work ASAP, I think she is probably right and I have pushed myself too far too quickly. She was lovely and said that she was worried about me and didn't want me to make myself vulnerable to making a mistake (I'm a midwife), nobody wants a slightly bonkers midwife they all are a bit bonkers

I was very conscious about letting everyone else down, the other staff and my patients, so I tried to get back as soon as poss. I seems that it hasn't quite worked out. We have all worked together for years and my colleagues know me really well. That probably know I'm "not myself" better than me.

Apparently my workmates have all told her they are worried about me and I should have stayed off longer Sad

Shaky · 18/10/2012 23:13

I have NEVER been told that I need to be off sick by a boss before.

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 18/10/2012 23:18

At least the people you work with care enough to mention it.

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 18/10/2012 23:19

Bloody hell posted too soon!!

....just take some time and forget about everyone else and concentrate on yourself!

We all need to do it every now and again !

Shaky · 18/10/2012 23:34

I did say to everyone, "If you think I'm not well please tell me, I won't be offended"

She has taken me at my word and told me! I am not offended, I actually appreciate her honesty, it must have been a very difficult conversation to have.

How the hell do you tell someone you want them back in work and then 2 weeks later tell them to go back off sick! I wouldn't want her job at all.

I'm going to ask for a months sick note to totally take the pressure off, completely forget about work and get better.

However, I still worry about the women on my caseload an have never quite let go from it, I always want to know what's happening with my ladies. Maybe I am one of the small percentage who actually give TOO much of a shit!

StateofConfusion · 18/10/2012 23:42

Shaky come and be my midwife :)

Shaky · 18/10/2012 23:45

I would love to be your midwife State

If you are ever worried about anything pm me, just remember I'm a bit bonkers at the mo!

Wink
StateofConfusion · 18/10/2012 23:50

I'm always worried, had 2 mcs and a mmc before this baby, and I'm generally a bit overactive with the imagination and make up things to stress over.
All the nice mws I've met have been a bit bonkers, the rest were mean, I've battled with depression in the past so I know where your coming from, its different for everyone though, I ended up leaving my job after a really bad patch, I was a home carer, my boss was vile and basically we weren't allowed to care, just get in do the vitals get out, it destroyed me, I still worry about my old clients over a year after leaving!

My mums dogs kicking up a fuss as we've gone to bed, better go see what's wrong with him.

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 18/10/2012 23:59

This is definitely the nicest place on mumsnet. Shaky, your boss sounds lovely and very caring. I think the month off is exactly the right idea.

State, Brian's absolutely right. Tee*, I'm so sorry about your step-uncle.

Welcome to the Puddle, Ouryve. Come by the fire and have a drink.

So we talked. Properly talked for the first time in however long. And we cried, and we realised how long we'd been blocking each other off and how much we were both hurting.

And we think, we're not quite certain, but we think we're going to try again.

Oh Empress! That's fantastic, is that what you want?

I really hope that you can work things out.

I'm sorry about your job state, you sound like you would make a lovely nurse!

I love the puddle, it's like a bed with fresh linen, ironed by someone else, with a cuppa and toast made from fresh white bread, lightly toasted, with lashings of real butter, served hot. Perfect!

Shaky · 19/10/2012 00:22

State I meant to say sorry about your mcs too but posted too soon, sounds like you have had a rotten time x

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 19/10/2012 00:45

Thanks Shaky.

Yes. She drives me nuts at times but I really miss her... Miss how we used to be. We're going to try to get that back.

Best of luck empress, me and dp have only been together 7yrs but both admit to the fact that if we didn't have such young dcs, and nowhere else to go both of us would have flounced many times, we've had some horrifically low patches but somehow worked it through, really hope you and your DW do too, I wish you every happiness.

Thanks shaky I do consider myself lucky, I have. 5yo son and almost 4yo daughter without any issues, well ds was early but he's fine now, now I'm out the other side those mcs were the right thing to happen, we weren't in the right place for a baby then, now we can finish our family at the right time and once dc3 arrives I can move on from the crappy bits inbetween and live my life.

Anyway I have 2 school runs and a bus to catch.

ZombTEE · 19/10/2012 08:20

Morning all.

::scarfs toast::

I have a ton of work to do today but I've just sent a Small and Tall Boy off and I'm enjoying an entire cup of coffee first!

Empress that's great that you both want to work it out. Good luck and lots of [empress] hugs!

shaky I've had depression for a very very long time. And anxiety disorder and borderline agoraphobia and and and...take the time you need to take care of yourself or you can't take care of anyone else. -- Tee's Words of Wisdom. Remember, they are worth what you paid for them. Grin

I have another new client. Very small, but it gets my name and my work out there!!!!!!

Hence why I need to go get to work...

showtunesgirl · 19/10/2012 09:03

Morning. I'm hungover. >tries to go back to bed but DD says no

StateofConfusion · 19/10/2012 09:39

I'm on the bus, I don't mind it really, but it reminds why I quietly pay car insurance and road tax, I don't much like other people. Also I'm possibly a 3rd of the age of the rest of the bus and didn't I know I was on their bus as I got on, and how dare I and my sodding huge bump sit in the front seat, as its a single and I don't want to get weird stroky leg man as a seat companion again. you should have heard the tuts! 35mins to go....

Great news tee :)

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 19/10/2012 09:56

Thanks, State and Tee. >

Weird stroky leg man????

OP posts:
StateofConfusion · 19/10/2012 10:03

Yeah I used to get the bus to my mums once a week and every week this one bloke would sit near a girl on there own and stroke his leg, I got him one week, I now always get the single seat, I'm like sheldon off big bang theory, that's my spot.

EmpressOfTheSevenScreams · 19/10/2012 10:09

The single seat just behind the driver?
DD loves that one.

We got on a crowded bus the other day, few spare seats all had bags on them, I was about to claim one for her when she looked at woman and said "Please can I sit down?"
Woman huffed a bit but shifted her stuff. DD said "Thank you", winked at me and sat. She's a good kid.

How were the school runs?

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 19/10/2012 10:15

Empress Your dd sounds fab! :)
