Blush

I have eaten 99% of these things.

But I have not eaten tripe or chicken's feet.

And I don't think I've eaten faggots, though my mum / various old rellies were keen on offal back in the late 60's.

Yes, I am ancient. Sad

I've eaten a lot of what people haven't but not frogs legs

colditz · 29/10/2010 16:03

Ducks eggs
Caviar
Venison

I would taste all except ducks eggs. I cannot eat ducks eggs. When I was about 7 my mother told me they taste like pond fish because that's what ducks eat. i know in my head that they taste like eggs, but my heart says "No, no, urgggh FUCK no!"

colditz · 29/10/2010 16:04

Faggots are lovely, old fashioned meatballs and gravy.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 29/10/2010 16:21

Halloumi (keep meaning to try)
Oysters
Most offal except liver which I ate as a child...never again. Although I do like pateConfused
Veal

I used to love those faggots that came in the little metal tray. We had them alot as a child.

MisSalLaneous · 29/10/2010 16:22

I've eaten (and like / liked) most of the things already mentioned, but not:
pigs trotters, spiders, dog, cat, kangaroo, cockroach, pop tart, whatever that pie in a tin mentioned earlier is. Oh, and sea horse in a market in China. That's just wrong.

scaleymcnamechange · 29/10/2010 16:23

And sorry to lower the tone ...

I've only swallowed (ykwim) once in my life. I was with a bloke who was pretty excitable (ykwim again) but I'm afraid that's not an experience I am ever likely to repeat. Sorry if thats a bit Friday night for this charming foodie topic btw [hblush].

scaleymcnamechange · 29/10/2010 17:02

Yikes, I hope that hasn't killed the thread [hshock].

TorcherQueenie · 29/10/2010 17:41

LOL Scaley well done!

I have eaten most of the stuff mentioned but not ponders Heart which we will be trying, Kangaroo have 2 burgers of it in the freezer though and Foie Gras due to the cruelty of it.

ILovePonyo · 29/10/2010 18:01

I thought fanjo was your answer to the OP jareth Grin It made me chuckle.

I too have never eaten scallops and would quite like to try them. They are always cooked on programmes like masterchef and look nice. Especially with bacon, mmm...

Have just put pop tarts on my shopping list. I used to love the chocolate ones many years ago.

erm...

ILovePonyo · 29/10/2010 18:53

Oh really?! [raised eyebrows emoticon]

This thread is in food isn't it. Maybe I should stop trying to lower the tone Grin

Have never eaten chicken's feet - once bought some for stock but they gave me the creeps every time I opened the freezer, so threw them out.

Pop tarts
Pot noodles
McD burger or anything else from them other than diet coke
Ditto burger king - not even the coke
Irn bru - I know drunk not eaten btw
Dog, cat and loads of other nasties
Wouldn't knowingly eat parsnips - hall at University put me off for life
Not too keen on 'gesiers' - chicken/duck gizzards - the French even put them on pizzas

I like Jerusulam artichokes, but last time we had them made us both fart painfully for hours - tmi I know.

But have eaten tripe, snails (yum), pigs' feet, foie gras (live in the middle of loads of producers, and some ducks/geese queue up for the gavage they are so greedy), liver, kidneys all sorts of offal except sweetbreads and heart. Not too keen on oysters - from memory bit like fishy snot.

[lowers the tone to Friday Night standard levels]

CakeandRoses · 29/10/2010 19:41

(Warning, slightly twatty comment alert ahead) I have never eaten anything with a face!

CakeandRoses · 29/10/2010 19:45

Hah hah at jareth's fanjo

(Erm, that came out slightly wrong)

JarethTheGoblinKing · 29/10/2010 19:49

CakeandRoses - does your DP/DH have a face [snurk]

also Grin

Mumcentreplus · 29/10/2010 19:59

Grin...

shell-fish of any description...rubbery pieces of something...

CakeandRoses · 29/10/2010 23:08

Good point, Jareth. You've given me a whole new reason not to use that line in RL!

hellzapoppin · 29/10/2010 23:26

My best friend at school used to microwave bacon fat and drink it.

I've never been tempted by that particular delicacy..

nor tripe, oysters, eel, heart, trotters, hare, goat or brains.

but I can fully endorse scallops!
